  1. So the year is 2012 and i finally arrived in Norway after a long travel from Thailand, i wrote a lot on the way and will publish a book next year where i cover my story and all the amazing, sad and terrifying experiences i had on my 4 year long journy from Thailand to Norway.

I will update more later, i have many things to fix and take care of right now.

  2. Personally i am about 1.80 and very active when it comes to fitness and boxing and i see the cute thai girls love that. I don't talk about the hookers around nana that most people here find enjoyable especially the "rich" english teachers. I am talking about the hot girls going shopping on Emporium that just came back from a month vacation in USA. I usually always get a lot of attention wherever i go and about 2 weeks ago i met a thai celeb girl, she play in some thai girl band which i have no idea about, but my thai friend told me about it after i talked to her for a while :o

Basically its about how u look, how u dress, where u go, how wealthy u look, how clean u r, how u act.

Also most farangs r bad picking up girls. Sometimes i just start to laugh when i sit in a bar and i hear a farang next to me trying to pick up a girl. It is usually very patehic, but hey if u like the 500 baht girls in nana am sure anything will work.

Won't be online here for a while agai as usually so i probably wont respond to this post.

  3. Hi!

I need help finding a good but preferable cheap gym in BKK. I have no idea what it costs each month to attend to a gym here, but back in Europe i paid something like 6k baht a month for a okay gym.

What r the prices here? and is there a good gym close to Bayoke Sky?

  4. pwned noob

    Is this an acronym?

    Translation?

    www.Google.com will answer your question

    I found this.

pwned is short for "power owned", and it's a word used by only the biggest noobs who think saying pwned is more of an insult than the regular tried and true...owned.

    ps youre a noob.

    Fine.

am not a noob am level 70 warrior with epic gear ohh yeh! zomg!

  5. Have you ever considered seeing a counsellor for your obvious insecurities? Do you always try to impress people to gain their attention? Do you feel the need to explain your life to the world?
    Hello!

What's ur way of making money on Thailand?

I just wanna know what people do down here for a living :D

Personally i am in the import/export business with countries in Europe which earns me about 100k to 120k baht a month. SOmething i am very happy with :-)

I am sure there are tons of people making more money than me here and some make less, so you don't have to say how much u earn unless u want too. The main thing i wanna know is what u guys do for a living?

Before this import/expoert business i was into web marketing and websites which was a very bad business for me :/

Thanks for some of the answers :D

Before this i survived on 20k baht a month but it was horrible. I would say50-60k baht a month i a minimum if you plan on living little bit good.

Personally i earn 100-120k a month which is very okay for me since i pay rent 7k baht a month and rest i can use for whatever i want. I never go out and party or drink either so i mostly spend my cash shopping.

The reason i ask is because on an average day i work around 45-60 minutes and the rest of the day i just do what i want, simply because that's all my job requires. So i am looking for more stuff to do and more ways or earning money. I mostly use all my cash each month for bullshit stuff and my studio is full of crap. Like i bought a copy machine... but i never used it..

I however plan to stop buying all this crap and blowing away my cash in the brand name shops on Paragorn or whatever its called. Now i plan to save up money and invest in property or stocks.

I do however think that the property market here is "bad" but am not sure, i would rather invest in some property in France, Italy or Spain but we will see :D

Edit: and for those who remember me from 1 year ago, its still me i just fixed my life quite a bit :D If u think and thought i trolled than thats up to u as the thai people like to say (which i think is really annoying)

I don't think that you are a troll. I do think you need help.

    yeah i kinda do :o

  6. Ok yet another thread about sinsod ... I spent a lot of time reading through them and trying to find all sorts of informations about it because I am currently wondering how to feel about the way my thai wedding seems to be going to happen. And yet I didn't find my answer yet so let me present it to you and please give me some feedback.

My girlfriend is 26 like I am, she is from Isaan part of Thailand. She comes from a farmer family, which is quite poor. She has a university degree and had a good job which she quit to visit me for 3 months. We love each other very much and just a few weeks ago, I decided to propose her.

I have been married to a thai woman before (whose parents didn't ask for sinsod because they liked me), and know quite a lot about their culture, but still in this situation i am lost.

When came the moment to discuss the sinsod, which I thought of mainly as a symbol of "readiness" for marriage and, like many wrote in forums, a matter of "face", I proposed (my mistake, maybe) 400,000 baht + gold. It seemed high to me but the reason was that her 2 sisters, married to a thai guy, seemingly paid the same amount (and I don't understand how they managed to with thai wages). When announcing it to the mother, she said she would give half back. That is still a 200,000 baht dowry that goes out of my purse.

Thinking it altogether, I think I have shown that I am responsible and can take care of their daughter. I paid for her plane tickets and cared for her when she quit her job to visit me, as I think this is fair seeing the difference in wages in thai/europe, and considering it as a good step for our future. Here, I am also supposed to pay for the plane tickets involved again, support her while she's in Thailand, pay for the gold, the thai ceremony, maybe another ceremony in Belgium.

I am trying my best to respect Thai culture but when I sum up all I have to respond for, it reaches kind of all I could save up to now. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to me that her parents understand the situation or care about helping/giving back most of the dowry like I could read on many posts.

That seems a bit too much to me and to what I could read, I have seen no case (except old man marrying young woman maybe) where such a dowry had to be paid. My girlfriends says she would like our families to be warm, but after this I rather feel very cold with them. I am not sure how to react. I talked to my girlfriend a lot but it seems important to her to "respect traditions" and it seems to be "the very average in the village". It's hard to believe when you see how poor these people are.

    Any opinion?

u r getting scammed, i bet she lies about that that's the average payment and she lies about that thai guys pay the same.

Actually its more like 50k baht, my brother paid 30k baht. personally i hate this tradition and think its somehing they do to earn some easy cash from farangs.

  7. Well i think its time for such an old tradition to end. Farangs also had tons of lame traditions in the ancients times but at least we manage to put em behind us. I vote no thank you to this 1000 year old thai tradition.

  8. i would never pay for something like that, why u gotta pay he parrents to marry their child? Its just some bullshit thai people like to say to suck some cash out of farangs.

    :o

What!?!? This coming from the guy with no visa, living on the street, begging for help and a place to stay...

I don't think you'll ever have to worry about having anything sucked out of you! However, when the Boy's in Brown and Immigration catch up with you - you may be doing some sucking, and it won't be for cash...

Don't live there no more :D so u r better of telling that to ur mom :D

  9. i would never pay for something like that, why u gotta pay he parrents to marry their child? Its just some bullshit thai people like to say to suck some cash out of farangs.

I knew the answer before mom asked hehehe.

The main reason was family members play a big role on it cuz they are afraid to loose faces.

They are kinda famous people in the area (yes police), :o but he is a good guy for other people but not on my on my case.

If a thai guy marry a thai girl does the thai guy have to pay as well or is this one of the many farang only rules?

  10. Thanks for some of the answers :o
