  1. You are required by law to report your address every 90 days. Currently people are being changed a fine of 2,000 baht for late reporting but law allows fine of 5,000 baht plus 200 baht per day for every day late. Up to now it has been handled as a separate branch in most Immigration offices and that is why people are often not being told about it (it is clearly written out on your entry/departure card that everyone gets so you are expected to know). I am not sure how much longer this will remain a hit and miss affair as have seen them enter this information into computer data base so at some point I expect that it may be more closely checked.

Thanks lopburi3. I went every year to TorMor near Suan Lum in Bangkok. Will ask them when I apply for extension for another year.

Did you say they mention about address report in the TM.6 form?

It is on mine but seems they have removed the list of requirements from the new ticket size form - probably because they do not apply to most visitors (who will never be staying over 90 days).

I have 2 extra TM.6 forms here but they didn't say about these.

I just think again. Why do I bring troubles to myself? If no one has told me for these years and no one has questioned me every time I have my visa extended, I just pretend I don't know :o . I think the other poster is right. Those with Thai spouse don't need to report every 90 days unless they change their address.

  3. I just spoke with Thai Immigration (Bangkok) and those of us who are here on a Non-Imm one year visa because of MARRIAGE TO A THAI do not have to report every 90 days unless they actually do have a new address and it that case they should do it when they get the new address.

I've been living in Thailand for a few years now with my Thai husband with my Non-Immigrant one year visa and have never done any report every 90 days. No one tells me this and no question is asked every year when I extend my visa.

Are you living here on a Visa or an extension?

Do you do 90 day border runs? If you do, you do not have to report every 90 days.

Lite Beer, I'm living on an extension. They gave me one year non-immigrant visa with the stamp "sarmee thai" and extend every year for me. I don't do border run and in fact I don't understand what border run is :o . I'm trying to read more posts to catch whether I miss anything. We still live at the same place as when we registered. I'm an ASEAN citizen.

  5. Hi there Andiamo,

    Thanks for the Bourjois info.

Does that vaseline at night make eyelashes grow? My sister's lashes are long, black and curly but mine are not. Don't know who to blame :D

I've heard beauty salons can make lashes grow more and longer but I haven't tried yet. This is the first time I heard about eyelash tinting so, as you can tell, I don't know anything about it :D

M&S is a good brand. I'm crazy for lingerie too so I have waaaaaaaaaay too many sets :D Have to say these Wacoal underpants made in Thailand are so durable. I wear them for over 2 years and they're still in good shape. I must refrain myself from buying more.

Gee, I had a typo. It should have been RED eyes after cleaning off the waterproof mascara. I was at Central the other day and bought a facial day cream Elisees brand. The seller said their Elisees waterproof mascara doesn't leave black marks on eyes when being washed. This kind has a lot of short little black hairs mixed with the mascara liquid which helps to lengthen the lashes and they will go off in pieces when being washed.

Did any of you use this kind of any brand having tiny pieces? Thanks.

Off to check that tampon thread :o

  6. Answer,

It is possible but unlikely that you broke your hymen, which is a thin tissue that is sometimes associated with "virginity." It would hurt for a little bit. Now some women are born without hymens and some break them in bicycle accidents or by doing things other than having sex. Sometimes having sex does not break a hymen. It may also be possible that you have/had an infection or some other problem and if you still have pain, you really should see a doctor. There's nothing else that you could "break" by using a tampon and tampons very, very rarely, if ever breaks hymens. Really, virginity means different things to different people anyway.

I thought Thai Cosmopolitan magazine would talk about stuff like this, but then again some of my Thai friends also ask me questions about sex. It's a shame that there is so much misinformation (and not just in Thailand) and fear about women's health.

    ******

I've read about all these from newspapers and magazines.

In my case back then, I bet I was too scared I might harm it. I was in a horror but couldn't stop my curiosity to know what was in there :o . Thanks for your reply.

  7. I've seen a photo of a girl forgetting to hide her tampon string when taking photos.

What on earth are you talking about photos and strings...the string is not so long that it hangs out your pants!

I suppose when the tampon is full let's say after wearing 2 or 3 hours, we'll pull it out to throw away. It is huge by now and will make your private part big. This is a problem for a virgin. When I was 18, I put my middle finger inside out of curiosity and I felt something like a wall, and I had pain after that.

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!! The vaginal walls are extremely elastic (babies come out of there you know :o ) so having a tampon expand by a couple of centimeters does not "make your private part big"!!! The vaginal muscles return to the same as before after removing a tampon! I'm not sure why you had pain after feeling your internal walls unless you scratched it or something..it can feel a little uncomfortable but if you experience pain, there could be a medical issue. It obviously comes down to lack of proper education about the female body and being fearful of "private parts".

The string in the photo I saw was about 2 cm and white. The girl was wearing a bikini.

For so many years, I believe that I should not touch the inside of the private part. Washing is only done for outside because inside there, it has its own environment and nature chemicals we should not interfere.

    Thanks for your reply.

  8. Can't stand the stuff. He considers it artificial. I consider it enhancement :D Besides, where I live, most women don't wear makeup.

Clear sounds good, if it makes my eyes look brighter without the obvious fake color of mascara.

My eyebrows and eyelashes are desperately thin and rare so I apparently look better when I use a little cosmetic. I also get comments from hubby when I draw too obvious eyebrows like what models are having. He says "like in cartoons" :D

People near my home wear make up and often very red lipstick. Someone has tattoo so they just need to wear baby powder and their make up is done :o

Thai people like to use "peng" (baby powder for instance) after having a shower so I often see white ghosts on the street :D . Their faces and necks are blo_dy white I have to laugh.

  9. We hijacked the thread already so here’s my serious question. I’ve seen a photo of a girl forgetting to hide her tampon string when taking photos.

  10. I always get comments from my husband about wearing makeup. Hmph!

Sbk, why :o ? Doesn't he like you to wear makeup?

When I use mascara, my husband always smiles "Wah, did make up your eyes?" so I like having a little. I don't even use lipstick, just a lip gloss which has a very light pink color. This way after I eat, I just quickly wash mouth in the washroom and apply new lip gloss. With lipstick I must spend more time and husband is never patient to wait. At home I never make up as I'm lazy :D .

  11. My sister-in-law sent me "BOURJOIS" Volume Glamour Ultra Black Mascara for Xmas - WOW - got some serious curly lashes with this one. Goes on smoothly if a little clumpy but you can tell you are wearing mascara and it's V.Glam! Always get comments on my eyes with this one! :o

    1) CLEAR Lash & Brow perfector - SBK, nobody will even know you are wearing mascara with this one! Looking 'au natrel' but yet still having voluminous & clear lashes! :D

In the meantime, I am off to Singapore on Wednesday - guess what's on my shopping List??

NAVY BLUE Mascara which doesn't cake! NOt bright blue but subtle, navy blue. Wish me luck gals! :D

BTW, can anyone recommend any beauty salon in BKK which does eyelash tinting??? I usually get it done (navy blue) when I go back to Wales and it costs about 350-400bt and lasts about 6-8weeks. FAB! I have never seen it here though.......................??????

Andiamo, I'm a bit lost here. "nobody will even know you are wearing mascara" so why bother? :D

I bought one (I call it clear mascara. I can't remember which brand) many years ago. After making lashes curly, this one helped keep the lashes in shape but has no color. After that I thought I used a kind of chemical anyway so why not use the real mascara. Mine is short so I like wearing the black color. What I don't like is at the end of the day, washing it off will make my eyes read temporarily and eyelashes fall sometimes. When I have little and short lashes, every single lash counts :bah: .

Haven't heard of "eyelash tinting". Is it "giving your eyelashes a new color like what people do to their hairs"?

Regarding "BOURJOIS" Volume Glamour Ultra Black Mascara, is Bourjois a brand name?

Did you buy a new mascara in Singapore yet? :D

  12. I would certainly not give your son a smack if I was his teacher, even if we were collegues. Sit with her and decide how his behaviour should be tacked together. When he misbehaves, perhaps she could go to him, squat down (ie get down to his level), look him in the eye and calmly but very firmly say "no thank you" and then put him in a short time out for a couple or three minutes. If he gets up, she should put him back. Always calm but firm, always consistent. It will take some time but he will get the message.

She could also look at distracting and redirecting him. If she is an early years teacher surely she is familiar with these techniques.

At two years of age, this is a phase and will pass but he needs to be made aware that his behaviour is unacceptable. If he does this at home, you should take the same approach. I really don't think that smacking him will work.

Great advice. Showing you don't support his behavior is the best.

Some children are more aggressive than others. Softer and weaker children might come home with a red mark of a bite in the arm.

If you smack him, he'll be stubborn and is not scared. Next step (you need a stronger method) you may use a ruler to hit his butt. He'll become more stubborn and worse, he's even more aggressive and revenging.

  13. I forgot an important detail:

    - With waterproof Maybeline mascara, when you just apply, if it touches your eyelid by mistake, you can use a cotton bud to wipe easily. When it's dry, you need a liquid to wash.

With Mistine mascara, when you just apply, you can't clean that easily. At least have to be a wet cotton bud.

  14. The Immigration Bureau has a quarter page advertisement in today's Bangkok Post announcing that the current E-Mail system used for re-entry permits will be extended to cover applications for extension of stay and change of visa starting in March of this year - and indicating this is another step in making Immigration and "E" process. There is no indication in advertisement that this applies to upcountry locations as the only links provided are the normal headquarters www.immigration.go.th and a test Bangkok site bangkok.immigration.go.th

It appears to require a log in/registration at web site - fill in form - ask for appointment date/time - return by email and then appear at the date/time requested. There is no indication of feedback on the time so expect it will be first come/first served but that all paperwork will be at desk so should speed up the process.

Great info, lopburi3. Thanks for the scan also.

  15. The most difficult part proved to be our acquaintances (friends, neighbours, family) who treated her like a monster for having let me move our daughter out of the room and everyday she heard questions like : "are you sure your husband loves your daughter?"

Personnaly, I didn't face that too much since I spent most days working and people did not openly blame me but I understand my wife position has not been easy: she is not working and everytime she went out of the house, it was only for hearing blames.

I understand how your wife feels. Some people just love it too much to comment about others and make them feel uncomfortable. Don't they know that we do what suits us, not to please the whole group of friends and neighbors? I hate that kind of gossip things. I don't like to talk too much to Thai people for that reason. Other than "hi how are you. have you just come back from the market?", I try to avoid deep conversation when they start to ask how much I earn and how many times we have it in one week :o I'm joking but really, some Thai people like to ask too much.

  16. Thanks LMP for the Larn Jeh Leng info.

OK, girls, seeing their ads so attractive, I bought that waterproof Mistine mascara. Here are my comments:

    Negative:

    - It makes my eyelashes go up straight which is not beautiful. You know when you clip your lashes, you start from near the root--clip--go up a little--clip--go up a little--clip--your lashes are now curly. But when I used the Mistine mascara, it just made the lashes straight up. I wasted my time clipping. What you see in the ads are the models' artificial eyelashes.

    - I washed if off by a regular facial foam. The true waterproof should be washed by an oil-based liquid. Wonder what will be if I catch a rain :D

    - I will not buy Mistine mascara again. I'll stick with better brands next time.

    - 4 grams so it will run out very soon. My current Maybeline has 10 ml. (Is 1 gram = 1 ml? :D I think so. If yes, Mistine is not cheap as we thought)

    Positive:

+ I used 2 days in a row for 7 to 9 hours per day including one hour aerobics but it didn't leave black marks on the areas around the eyes. This is good.

+ Produced in Dec 2007. I don't like dated products.

+ I feel my lashes are not as heavy as when I used Maybeline.

    + Price 89 Baht.

+ Colors I saw at the minimart: black, blue, brown. I bought black.

+ The Mistine shape looks nice. I'm bored with Maybeline in fat and short shape :o

  17. Zaza, people say if you can, just give your friends the money. Don't let them borrow as it might ruin the friendship.

LMP, LOL. They're a lot better than those plastic chopsticks which look nice but can cause cancer when they contact hot food.

  18. LMP, those high heel things!!! At work I must wear 6cm and not showing toes or heel. Feet are too tired after a day. I can't take shoes off as it looks not polite. I bring a flat pair so when I finish a day, I just change :o before going home.

Seonai, cosmetics air hostesses sell outside are all of good quality since they're made in hi-tech countries. I haven't got a chance to buy like that as I don't know where they sell or how to tell if they're real or not real. Did anyone visit Larn Jeh Leng near Don Muang? I passed a few times but felt not so convenient to stop.

  19. hahah Thats kind of you ZAZA, i donno wat the dresss i brough called. it is just normal dress,

honestly im quite new to live like a girl hahahah, well i am 100 percent female but my personality my dressing just like tomboy , as it is new years now i slowly changing myself to be more feminine wear skirt try high heels and put some make up on hehehe,(i feel sorry to my bf he might want to walk with beautiful feminine gf sometimes not always walk with a tomboy looks gf)

i will change my hair style soon but dont get the style i want yet plus i still cant make up my mind to have some other hole for earings yet..

anyway it good if i can have some other female mates helping me dress like a female and give me some suggestion lol.

thak you anyway ZAZA , its middle of the month now i have to slow down shopping. lol if i go again i will tell u :D

I just changed my hair style. I had it short previously and they are long now. The "tout" (gay) hairdresser did a great job. I now look a lot feminine. Previously I thought a straight end hair style was fine since I clip them up all day. Now I have it short at front and longer at back. When I have time I'll "dat pom" (make them a little curly at the end). Many speakers and actresses on TV have this style.

Being a true lady is tired sometimes :o that the new hair style having short part fall into my face when cooking. This makes me itchy :D so just clip the whole thing up by the frame using when washing face.

  20. Mistine is more economic, u know what i mean? just like Big C and Central.

I use Maybelline moose foundation and only finishn powder from Artisty(i took it from my mom) hahaha well it make my face look natural bight and fresh not look too much of make up on whic i dont like.

for my lips i use Lancome red(again i took it from my mom make up dress !!!) and just normal any lip palm or lips gross near my hand, i always just touch my lips with the red lancome (only softly touch) and than put the lips gross over it. result: my lips looks natural . i just dont like to look like i put many make up on.

if anyone have any tips please share me. ( i am learning to be more feminine heheheh) :D

    LMP

:D I read your Platinum Mall topic and know you want to be more feminine. Me too I don't have the tomboy look but my body and face look "hard", not "soft" like many ladies. Since last year I started to wear skirt and dress again. When I was single and being naughty, I cut my hair super short like a boy. Not those boy singers we see on Channel V. They have girly hairs :o which make them look like girls.

Is there anything in between? BigC is too normal and Central is too high :D . When Central has a sale, I still can't buy a pair of shoes at 2400 Baht which was after 70% discount. Must be joking me. They're not brand new. Apparently people have tried them many times but don't buy.

Many brands pay too much for ads and rental fee which bring the cost up. I'm using make up power from BSC and feel it's just normal.

I saw that Artisty ads on TV. The model is the girl in the anti-cigarette ads "Leaw khun ma thum rai chan thum mai" remember? Is that Artisty finish powder good?

At home I use Nivea lip care, the no color type in blue pack and this works fine on me.

What a surprise that Cute Press lipstick is better than Maybeline lipstick.

I notice that a store in Siam Paragon has quite many famous brands made in China like Za..... so I don't dare to buy.

  21. I never try Mistine mascara, but i did try mistine 2 in 1 eyes liners and eyes shadow things. well for this product its handy but i feel like their eyes liners thing can be melt on my eyes lid under the heat. lol u can try their mascara and tell us. not too expensive to buy one and try it on i think.

PS i have heard of mistine since i was born... must have some quality or else they would disappear for ages...

    LMP

Thanks LMP. I just love the discussion about cosmetics :o . With waterproofed Maybeline mascara, I feel after a long day for 10 hours, it melts a little and leaves a black mark on my upper eyelids. I'm looking for a better option and don't want the feeling that "I should have bought a Loreal with just a hundred Baht more". Have to admit that their eye shadows look so nice. My face make up powder (two way cake or similar) will be empty very soon so I need to buy new. Thinking of trying Mistine but still I am worried about the quality.

  22. I'm using Maybeline brand for many years but recently want to try Mistine's Black Shine after watching their ads on TV. Its price is so good that I'm wondering if it's any good or just so so. Is it waterproof?

Did any lady in this forum try this brand? Thanks for any reply.
