When I try to open the second attachment, I get an error message - "You do not have permission to view this attachment".
I'm having the same issue

Thanks for the clarification Ubon. Much appreciated.

Hi Ubon,
Thanks for the prompt response.
To clarify, I'm not currently on an extension of stay and am not employed. I entered the country within the last month on a single entry non-imm B. My spouse is employed and is on an extension. Do the same rules apply?
Thanks again.

Hi,
I've read through other topics on this but couldn't find answers to my specific question on getting an extension based on marriage to a foreigner. I am European and have a Non-imm B visa. My wife is from the US with a non-imm B visa, and work permit. My questions are:
* Can I get a dependant spouse extension with my current Non-Imm B visa? Or would I need Non-Imm O?
* Second, do either of us need to show a monthly salary above a certain limit?
* Would also be interested to know the chances of success of such an application, if anyone has any insight.
Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

Pretty decent article article here on the ins and outs of the visa crackdown and how it affects teachers and overall standards of English education in Thailand.
My take: Removing the bureaucratic costs for schools to hire foreign teachers would be a big step forward. Would solve the visa/WP issue for many people, and maybe even allow schools to pay a little bit more and attract potentially better English-speaking staff.

I guess we knew the junta had impunity to carry out extrajudicial actions anyway, but it's a bit scary to see it written into law:
"the head of the NCPO is authorized, with the approval of the NCPO board, to order, to suspend or to take action, regardless of its effects on the legislative, executive or judiciary. All orders or acts are to be regarded as lawful and constitutional."
Taken form a good translation and analysis of the interim constitution here: http://asiancorrespondent.com/125027/a-first-look-at-thailands-new-interim-constitution/

A round-up of recent developments on the tourist visa front here.... http://asiancorrespondent.com/124798/visa-enforcement-tightens-for-tourists-and-expats-in-thailand/
Looks like a lot of people running out of options fast.

Looks like the good days over for a lot of people under 50. Notice the rules for Non Imm-B multiple entries also tightened up a lot. Not a bad article here on alternatives to Thailand in SEAsia, specifically aimed at location independent people who work online... http://asiancorrespondent.com/122727/thailand-visa-run-crackdown-alternative-destinations/

Hello. Anyone know where I might pick up a battery desulfator in Chiang Mai? Specifically it's for the maintenance of golf cart batteries. Seems a lot of them are made in Thailand but haven't managed to locate one yet. Any suggestions appreciated.

Interesting article on road fatalities here. http://asiancorrespondent.com/119957/11-die-in-thai-construction-accident/
University of Michigan study states Thailand 2nd worst country in the world for road fatalities, though based and figures from 2008. Would imagine the stats are a bit better now, though probably not by much.

Read interesting article earlier on how fast Chiang Mai is growing with two major malls this year, way more traffic and rising rent prices...
Thailand’s second city sees much growth, but will it retain its heart? - http://asiancorrespondent.com/117304/thailands-second-city-sees-much-growth-but-will-it-retain-its-heart/
Are we going to lose our quality of life? Personally I'm not too worried, but would be interested to hear people's thoughts.

I had heard that when sewing hemp you needed a quality thread.
thanks. Will look that up. Will be sure to buy plenty extra anyway to allow for any mess-ups.
-
Loads of hemp behind Warorot market.
Cool. Thanks for the tip. Will head in during the week.
-
Never seen any kind of jute/hessian fabric for sale . Maybe you could use hemp instead?
Thanks for reply. Yes, that could work. Is it sold here?
-
Trying to find anywhere that sells lengths/rolls of hessian or burlap fabric in Chiang Mai. Had a look in Index and Homepro but couldn't see anything. Need somewhere around 20 meters to make new curtains for the house. Any tips appreciated. Thanks!

Good interview here with Kaewmala on the blackening story and racism in Thailand in general... http://asiancorrespondent.com/112793/interview-with-kaewmala-on-doughnuts-blackface-and-actual-thai-racism/
Key quote: "It certainly is an undercurrent which many people sensitive to prejudices against dark skin point to in this particular case, even if they don’t think the Dunkin’ Donuts ad is racist. But before that let me say what I find more telling in the ad: the fact that the model is the daughter of the Thailand CEO of Dunkin Donuts! This nepotism is much more Thai than the blackface faux pas – even though the CEO is Lebanese."

decent round-up of the story here. Just more of the same really ... http://asiancorrespondent.com/111782/thai-authorities-blantantly-use-scare-tactics-to-curb-political-rumors-online/
"Unfortunately, Pisit’s staggering and blatantly anachronistic comments are in line with past and present governments in handling online censorship: under the premiership of Abhisit Vejjajiva the number of blocked URLs skyrocketed and the ‘Cyber Scouts’-program to monitor online dissidents was launched. The current government of Yingluck Shinawatra has maintained if not even worsened the trend by doing essentially more of the same"

I have a car and motorbike registered in my name in Chiang Mai. However, I have changed address within Chiang Mai so my current address doesn't match the book in the reg docs. How important is it to have my current home address in the blue/green books changed? I'm thinking of selling the car so I'm guessing the blue book address will have to match my Certificate of Residence. I'm also guessing having the right address important if making an insurance claim etc.
Can anyone advise on the quickest and easiest way to get this info changed in the blue/green books? Do I need Certs of Residence for this? And is there any service that will take care of it? Would like to avoid wasting 2 days queuing at Immmigration/DMV if possible and am happy to pay a few bob to have someone handle that end of things if such a service exists.
All advice appreciated.

Hmmm, this puts them in an awkward position, since they have already said the devices work fine. There's no way there will be an investigation in Thailand under Prayuth... http://asiancorrespondent.com/106300/gt200-seller-guilty-of-fraud-in-the-uk-what-about-the-investigation-in-thailand/
