  1. Vaccine passports are precursors to Digital ID wallets.

It's not about the vaccine, it's not about the virus, it's about your data.

What people have to understand is that any other functionality can loaded onto the platform.  It will be able to geolocate you everywhere you go. Your credit history will be included along with you medical and health history.

It will have the power to turn off your life, or turn on your life, to let you engage in society or be marginalized.

The choice is yours, so choose wisely.

This is not to a Thai vender?  Normally they can accept payment to a bank account.  If not Thai Wise can not handle baht payments (only funds into Thailand) AFAIK and understand PayPal Thailand is currently having issues and may not even be working from recent posts.

No, the vendor is in Indonesia.

Seems the only way is going to be a bank transfer which I think is ridiculous considering the cost the product is less than 150 baht.

  3. Thank you so much this really helps.

I do have some follow up questions if you don't mind?

    1. My Thai wife will be the sole proprietor of the business. Will this structure be sufficient?
    2. Can the physical premises be in a residential home, rented condo, or temperature controlled storage facility?
    4. What are the costs in relation to FDA product submission and licensing?

What do you need the license for? Is this for a one off import that has been stopped by customs, or do you intend importing or exporting on a commercial basis?

The FDA do not issue import or export licenses as such. The FDA grants registration to the company that applies, and it approves products on a one by one basis.

The registration requirements differ depending on whether you wish to register food or drink, medicines, cosmetics, etc. and whether you will be manufacturing the product yourself or not.

It would help if you would be able to clarify the product category (such as either food, alcohol, medicines, medical devices, etc.) and whether you manufacture the product yourself.

Nothing has been stopped.  This is only for planning purposes.

We will be importing dry herbs and spices repacking and selling them on a commercial basis.

We will not be exporting at this time.

Are you on a extension of stay based upon marriage? If yes and her business is registered as a sole proprietor it is possible for you to apply for a work permit.

She would need to ask the local work permit office what is required since it can vary from office to office.

It can also be done if you and your wife form a 51/49% partnership with 1 million baht of registered capital.

Yes I am on a extension of stay based upon marriage.

I want to avoid going down the 51/49% partnership with 1 million baht of registered capital route.

  6. My Thai wife has a small restaurant under her name.

She's the only employee and clears approximately  50,000 baht per month

She pays her taxes every year and contributes into social security every month.

I'm a Chef by trade and want to start helping her in the kitchen.

Can she hire me as an employee, and if so would I be able to get a work permit?

As far as I'm aware, all unvaccinated passengers are required to test AND quarantine at every destination (upon arrival) if coming from a red zone.

Update: Wife and friends returned to CNX from BKK his evening.

All were given swabs and told to stay home for the next 48 hours.

MOPH said if there's a positive test they'll be in contact by phone.

They were also told negative tests will require NO quarantine.

Should be required for all flights. Unvaccinated are super spreaders. I know for sure it's required for Phuket. Hopefully, more destinations will follow. At least a test.

i can file a report on dmk-buriram-dmk on nok air.  traveled over this past weekend.  vaccination proof required at dmk to fly to buriram.  i showed the proof i had from a USA vaccination, the CDC card.  nothing extra is required to fly buriram to dmk, only passport like pre-covid days.

also no testing done at arrival in buriram.  just a temp check.  they did not look at vax card upon arrival.

A report as a vaccinated passenger.

You don't know the procedure they make you do if your unvaccinated.

Proof of vaccination is only required if you have it.

For unvaccinated folks they can still let you board the plane, but need to swab and quarantine upon arrival in Buri Ram.

Can you show a link to this please.  I think one still has to be covid negative before flying if not vaccinated.

I believe that is if only if you're flying into Phuket or Krabi, I'm not 100% sure. According to the following link it seems that even unvaccinated international travelers will be allowed into Phuket as long as they do quarantine in a designated ASQ hotel.

https://www.thaiembassy.com/travel-to-thailand/thailand-travel-restrictions  Not sure if this website is reliable or not.

    ---------------------------------

As for flying domestically throughout Thailand, my wife and her friends flew into Bangkok from Chiang Mai yesterday with ThaiSmile without a hitch.  They were all unvaccinated, and didn't have to take any Covid tests.

The only link I could find showing that you do not need to be fully vaccinated to enter Bangkok is on the following link.

    https://www.thaismileair.com/en/newsupdates/news_2992

I also had a chance to drive down to the airport a few days ago and ask the supervisors from Bangkok Airways, Vietjet, and NokAir is they required anything else besides my passport/Thai drivers license to fly into Bangkok, and they all said no.

Here is another link that explains the restrictions and policies regarding travel into a particular province, unfortunately it's all in Thai.

  11. You can travel domestically anywhere in Thailand without being vaccinated

    Thanks for that!

FWIW, my wife has an incoming domestic flight to BKK at the end of this month via Nok Air... After reading the news report here, I've been bugging her to check with the airline about what they will or won't require both upon check-in and also upon her ultimate arrival to Don Mueang.

This week, the airline called her to reschedule the time of her flight, and my wife said she checked with them then about the COVID rules. She says Nok Air told her no COVID testing or vaccination proof required from her flight originating in the Northeast and arriving to Bangkok.

So... what the heck gives with the original OP news report in this thread???

She will only be required to show her Thai identification when she's checking in.

Nothing will be needed when she arrives Don Mueang.

You do not need to show anything to fly into Bangkok domestically from anywhere in Thailand, excluding Songkla and Narathiwat .... for now.

So this travel you've done the past 18 months, whilst referring to EU requirements etc, was all internal in Thailand, and you haven't flown to another country in 16+ years.  Glad that's working out for you.

I think everyone understands domestic travel is easy without the same Visa/passport/COE/vax/etc requirements...of course that's not what folks are talking about here.

The OP is asking if an individual could or should be double vaccinated upon entering Thailand.  And I said, if Asia follows what the European Union Commission has done in regards to it Digital COVID Certificates the answer is, NO.

It's ridiculous for you all think that only vaccinated people are going to be allowed in. Stop dreaming, it's not go happen.

At this present time being vaccinated is not be a pre-condition to enter or travel regionally in Thailand.

You will indeed have the right to move freely in your quarantine hotel room.  Enjoy!

Thank you! But I live here in Thailand so the quarantine for me is not an issue.

If I do have travel out of the country, something I haven't done in over 16 years, I'll make sure to get the best quarantine hotel money can buy.

Stop making things seem worse than then actually are.

The OP article seems pretty clear to me, and not inconsistent with your post. Note the use of the word "OR" in the first sentence.

    From the OP report:

"People wishing to take a flight in Thailand will need to be fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours before they are due to fly, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has confirmed.

'Fully vaccinated' is deemed as having received two doses of a vaccine approved for use in Thailand, with the exception of the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

For those who are not fully vaccinated, they will need to show a negative test result from either an ATK or PCR test no more than 72 hours before flying."

The question I have -- and it's not even addressed in the OP article -- is to whatever extent these rules as listed above are either going to be nationwide OR (as is often the case with Thailand) selectively and varyingly enforced from place to place (airport to airport)....  Yeesh!!!!

Well, I know firsthand that they are allowing folks to fly who are unvaccinated without an ATK or PCR test more than 72 hours before flying.

I just flew from BKK-CNX with ThaiSmile and I was tested upon arrival and asked to quarantine for 14 days.

Before I bought the ticket I made sure to ask several airlines in person if they were going to let me on the plane. They all said the same thing, it's not the airline that's requiring the test it's the province that they're flying into.

Unless things have changed in the past 72 hours, the article is inconsistent with what's really happening on the ground.

I will ask wife's sister later and find out if something has changed. She's a ticketing agent for Bangkok Airways and should be able to clarify what's going on.
