Few years back, when my newborn was going home for the first time.
I got the most evil stare from the 2 infant ward nurses as if I was out of my mind when I insisted that the newborn be put in the infant seat.
As if I was out of my mind to put such a small child in a car seat, they adamantly told me that the baby needs to be in mothers lap. The evil stare continued till I pulled out of the hospital driveway. Mind you these were infant ward nurses in major hospital in bangkok!
If it doesn't start there where can it?!

Some of the thai sources are saying this is a cloud seeded rain. Is this possible?

Does anyone know approximately how long it takes for a package to be sent to USA using International Parcel-Surface. It appears to be quite cheap. A 15Kg package costs only 2510B. Within reason, time is not an issue.
Surface which I presume the longest time.
I have sent big packages weighing 25kg 3 times to the US using surface mail.
First time it took 35 days..second time took 29 days and the 3rd time took 45 days.
Post office told me it could take up to 60 days and no guarantees.
Just a couple of questions, if you don't mind.
What kind of box did you use and where did you get it? I would image the packages get handled a lot and can be crushed on it's long journey
When you wrote "no guarantees", does that mean you would have to wait many months before making a claim for lost package?
I find the postal boxes to be very strong. The largest box they have for sale is 55 baht. However there is a second hand box seller located on the sidewalk (northside) on Suthep Road about 100 meters from the CMU entrance. He has many many sizes, his price is about 35baht for the same size. He's targeting the young students panning to moving out of their apts.
But if you buying one box I suggest the post office box to save time and they are good.
No guarantees means the time frame is just a suggestion, could take longer than 60 days but I don't see this happening if your destination is to the US.
I'm not sure about claim procedure but I would imagine it being more cumbersome than other modes of shipping transportation.

A local temple has a pond filled with catfish, tilapia, turtles etc....the pond is very green with algae along with small odor.
In the past couple of year, they had a slow kill off, as the pond was never aerated. Possibly overstocked but I'm sure with heat producing low oxygen is probably to blame.
I estimate the pond to be 40meters by 40meters ( I'll get accurate measurements later)
Few days ago they put in a paddle aerator. The staff are saying they needed one more so that the water can make a complete swirl.
Current aerator is located around the 20 meter mark. Judging by the surface agitation it looks to be swirling around 50 percent of the pond.
By adding another unit we imagine that it would complete the swirl. Not sure if were under aereating the pond.
My question to you...is another one needed or do you have a better solution.
The unit costed roughly 28K baht installed. Here are some pictures to get a better idea.

Considering how big your package will be, it will stick out like a sore thumb. They will definitely charge you tax. I'm assuming the monitor your after cost $300-400usd. I'm guessing 1,000 baht if your lucky but more like 2,000 baht, possibly even 3,000.
There is a good chance the koreans ship monitors in the original packaging and not double boxed, the packaging will probably state the content "led monitor"

I may stretch my budget and leaning towards altis and civic...whats new for 2014? Which would be a better buy?
-
Lets assume they are priced exactly the same, which would you take and why?
Pros and Cons of each? Or does it come down to personal taste? Never mind the looks.
I'll probably get the higher tier model on either car.
I also notice the City has the VSA option, I dont see that on the Vios...how important or necessary is the vehicle skid assit?

From my vantage point the moon is currently just above Doi Suthep temple.
My daughter is asking why is the moon upside down today. Bowl shape
And I don't recall the moon being so close to doi suthep...does it change direction depending on the time of the year.
Sorry i failed highschool science.
I'm curious why this is so?

Large explosion noise heard from nimmanhaemin, what was it? Sounded too large for a single firecracker.
Probably a transformer explosion unless someone can confirm otherwise.

My unscientific way of judging air quality but the view of Doi Sutep looks clearer than it has in a couple weeks.

Parents urged to invest in child car seats

In my extended family, the child seat is on mommys lap in front of the passenger airbag.
They justify it by saying its hundred times safer than on a motorbike.
But to give thais some credit not too long ago in the US while I was growing up (70's), car seats were rare so I got to sit shotgun.
Even up until the mid 80's the mexicans in Los Angeles would pile 10 people in the truck beds. No law said they couldn't.
Motocycle helmet law wasnt in place till the early 90's, rarely you saw any harley riders with one.
The laws here in regards to this aren't so primitive after all.
