  1. What are the choices ? How much per year ?

Are they still doing corporal punishment at school in Thailand ?

Do you have to have short hair, crew cut, uniform and all ?

    I have 2 boys, 6 and 8.

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

Check out the ISAT (International Schools Association of Thailand) website, where there is a complete list of schools.

As regards fees, most schools have information on their websites, or their admissions office will give it. The most expensive would be those generally regarded as the top six: ISB, Patana, RIS, NIST, Harrow and Shrewsbury.

There should NO corporal punishment in any properly accredited international schools.

International schools in Thailand do have school uniform, as it is very much the tradition of this country. It varies from, at one extreme, shirt & tie, long trousers, jacket and straw hat, to schools (like mine) where it is a polo shirt and short or long trousers. No crew cuts in international schools, as far as I know!

I go to Harrow, It's the best school I have ever been to! I been to Bangkok Patana, Regents and Assumption. None of them made me feel as good as Harrow! I wear a boater hat :o We do Thai studies so we do not forget our country! We have to do it and like someone already said, we do all the Thai cultural holidays.

  3. try regents as they have an ESL programme and it will her gain better english. Why would you want to send her to Bilingual as they will do both languages when you just want her to do english.. regents also has lots of non thai's there so it will help her get ready for life in US. I used to go to regents its not the best school i have been to at all, infact i think its poor but they have a great ESL programme or if not try a private tutor.

  4. i didnt get my first phone till i was about 10 i didnt need one really but as she hit the teen years she will want one but i dont think she will need one now still abit young she got more to think about than carry a phone around with her its quite a responsibility to carry a phone about.. and think about it someone might beat her up for her phone as she young and shes an easy target

  5. born from samitivej and been going back there all the time i been sick and i have never had a problem i have used Bumrungrad also and found it was also a good place no problems but i still dont see how you did not have a nurse .. seems weird to me

  6. hmm thats a hard question mayeb she likes bears? haha or some other Jewellery... she might be happy with anything but i know some people are fussy with what they get... chocolate in thailand not so cool haha but yeah a lot of the thai woman i know dont like chocolate unlike me but me being thai too and like someone says you live in london? it be nice to get some london stuff? i brought back lots of gifts from london for friends there.

off topic -- i went to dinner with some of my friends once which one wanted to be my girlfriend i wore ghost perfume and she was like god you smell like you put the whole bottle on... some people dont like perfumes haha

  7. my cousin has the allergy too it sucks because wheat and gluten for him is almost in everything for him but i am not sure were to get it... i guess your from sweden yeah? for english its celiac ( dont worry i was not correcting you i was just telling everyone else what it is :o ) i think it would be so much easier if there were store for people with allergies because its hard to eat anywhere as i had to do this gluten test also

  8. can any one please help my cousin she is going to turn 18 next year april, but she wants to go to a school in ubon just for her school holidays july - september time, i used to go to assumption college there many years ago, but i think now there are better english programe schools than assumption now right at ubon? but the thing is she cannot read thai but she can speak it very well. she just wants an experiance to it thats all she studies in a private school in the UK so i guess its going to be hard to have to put up with the standards in ubon.. as they are probs not as good at bkk standards yet but she has to stay with my grandparents in ubon. her parents are very strict about it all and i guess ubon has not yet got a boarding school because in UK she is a boarder so many thanks for reading

  9. Ok well my cousin is looking to go to the school in ubon next year in july - september time instead of touring around BKK with my uncle and she wants to know how old does the school go up to? 18? and how much is it? and will the school be open then? I used to go there many years ago when i was like 4 or something so i guess the fees have changed and everything now i just go to international school so i dont remember anything about thai system haha she wants to do the EP

or if so is there any other better schools there for english? ive kinda lost contact with my issan side now im a city girl lol

but she is coming from england and we are going to be spending our summer time with family back in ubon she goes to a private school in UK also and i think assumption is the only private school there? i dont remember a single thing about the school so i cant help her much so please help me if your child goes to a good ep school in ubon as i need the help :o

  10. yeah BCIS is the best school on the island , there is a school called satit phuket school which is a good school I have a farung friend that is there and he does the EP. It looks better on a record to be going to the best school on the island and that for universities. But thats my opinion. I wouldnt bnother with RPIS then if it has no secondary school you'd have to look for another school and move about again... which is a chore haha

  11. I'll let it ride but it is obvious that your English is appalling and I certainly would not wish to send my daughter to any school which turned out a "young adult" with such poor grammatical understanding.

u can bash my learning difficulties all u like it dont make u a big person does it? if my english was so appalling i would of not of passed my IGCSE's would i? and good for u whatever u want to do ... there is nothing wrong with my school at all.. we have one of the best passing rates and lets get one thing straight... im not taking an exam right now im not being assessed in my english skills right now and this is the internet and it is like what 2008 times are changing... to talk text talk there is no right or wrong how to type on the internet... so if you really have a problem then go cry about it somewhere else i am not bothered about u.. ur lame get over it

  12. http://www.satreephuket.ac.th/

i dnt think its catholic but it has EP

    http://www.phuket.net/phuket-living/schools.htm

i attended British International School phuket for a short time but in that time i found it a good school many diff people from the world, which i did not like much.. my friend is a farung boy 100% and he goes to the satree phuket school he said he enjoys is a lot. i think thats the best thai system school they got there im not sure.

  13. I think the kid's English is a sign of the times and is more akin to SMS / text English without using predictive text. That he cannot differentiate between an SMS and a message board is worrying, especially if he is due to take exams. I understand that you cannot submit examination answers by SMS just yet !

if your referring to me im hardlya kid, im a young adult, my english exams results were fine so it dont really matter the matter is i passed with a good pass. by the way im a female. insulting my english skills is not really what i call cool this is not an exam and i dont need to write perfectly... its just a message board most people know how to read both normal and text language. its not the end of the world to be typing in text talk to people over the internet its a time change so get back to the topic and dont spam it insulting my english ....

  14. im a united fan but like i think they played really poor and arsenal deserved to win all the way i found that arsenal put all their energy into it 100% of the time and united just didnt. I dont know what wrong with united this season... i do like arsenal as a team i think they are very good. united had many chances and just didnt get them in ... it should of been like 6 -2 if they had of scored ha... well done arsenal :o
