  1. i am very naive when it comes to asian politics, probably because i shy away from it, knowing i will never know head from tail but how come a convicted felon can come back twice into his own country, regain his position, then be re-convicted, and then go to back in exile which very properly said by a colleague can by legal definition not be one by claiming a refugee status from a country he was the prime minister five minutes ago and which country is at peace anyway...england should send him to haiti with the natives then he will have a taste of what its like...wow...its a great movie script...tarantino should do a movie about this guy, hes a real piece of work, the movie would probably do better than the last james bond!!!!

  2. Just out of curiousity - why is the Thai Gouvernment so "Anti Long Stay Tourist" ...... I know alot of guys that work in the UK / Europe for 6 months during srping / summer, save up alot of cash, then go to Thailand for the autumn / winter (6 months) and spend all that cash...... I'm talking like 10 grand...... as in half a million Baht..... surely that is a good thing for the country? I can understand why they would want to stop foriegners buying up land & houses, pushing up prices etc., but what is wrong with people hanging around spending what is locally a hel_l of alot of money..... this money is filtering back up the entire country one way or another..... the typical long stay tourist is not exaclt a burden on the state?

Just seems pointless to me........... could some one fill me in?

Having been in thailand for 8 yrs and spending millions of baht on both house building and rental, general shopping and living costs, helping various poor families and not so poor families get a relatively good life started, and on top of this, giving no one a hard time,BUT only helping the general economy and still not understanding what the hel_l is wrong with this place they call THAILAND,(LAND OF SMILES)and why they are allways wanting to find ways to get us the (farangs )out as soon as possible, it has all turned to bullshit for me, ,LAND OF SMILES ,,MY ASS,,it seems to me that if you are not from another asian country ie:korea.japan.china(and any of these nationals can work or stay as long as they want) you really are not welcome here anymore. I only wished i knew why. but as of midnight 2008 i really have given up caring about the thai way of ripping us europians off and have decided on a move to a much friendlier country, the philippines, where the girls are just as sexy/friendly/giving and to top it all, speak english with gusto<< where the visa laws are with you,not against you and where a man can work and live without the fear of getting shut out at the turn of a hat from some wanna be PM ,or government worker trying to make a name for himself in the local party.( i know i sound like i am very upset and bitter and that many of you are saying that if you dont like it mate, then go away, well as i said before, im going, i just am very very sad that thailand has turned its back on the help given by the european thourists in the means of millions of dollars, over the last twenty or so yrs,its almost like,,, now we got your money, go the f--- away.well im out of here, see ya ,,,and good luck on getting japs.koreans and chinese to marry whats left of the girls in what was once the greatest place in the world for adult entertainment, but today is one of the worst.and is openly laughed about in other countries.(sorry ladies) but i think you really need a new strategy, THE ( HELLO SEXY MAN ) way of doing things is over.so from one long termer to someone looking to be filled in, sorry mate, i cant help. but if you do get a answer, please forward it to me.

cheers, have a great time in thailand.

well, parmi, i am 100 percent with you...so what destination you suggest?

  3. the interesting quote in your new rule on tourist visa is, i quote you: to not abusing the system. what does that really mean? i am spending tons of baths here on hotels, cars rentals, food, restaurants, and i am abusing the system...hmmm...many countries would love to be abused that way...If Thailand gets too cocky about itself, people will eventually go somewhere else...I am all for cleaning Thailand of the junkies farangs hanging around pattaya and such but think about all the business thailand can be loosing from decent, thai wife supporter and so on...who get no rights whatsoever...thailand is not the USA. So tell those guys in power to be careful, thailand may be forcing itself into a switzerland heaven that might never happen...i am open to comments but i also spend 50K in 6 weeks in thailand, arent they happy about the income...sure they are...like we say back home, dont try to fart higher than you a...Thailand immigration makes the INS look like a walk in the park.

    thank you for reading.

    Peace.

  5. Hello, i know so well what you are going through...mornings are hel_l...every morning, i feel dissapointed to be alive...i take my tramadol some coffee, eat if i can which is rare and usually within the next 2 hours, i transform from a zombie to a somewhat human being...i live near rangsit and i am looking for thai/chinese doctors which have studied CFS/Fibro. Thai massage have helped me tremedously but are not a remedy, however they can keep you going if you have them 2 to 3 times a week, length of the massage is absolutely not a factor, what is are: the time you have the massage and who does it. i never go beyond 45 minutes, rarely an hour. Sometimes a 10 minutes massage can make more good than whatever you can buy...i just listen to my body and it tells me when it wants to be touched and massaged strongly...no carresses here....this is my first post to this site, and your message spoke to me.

Let us have a CFS/Fibro club in the Bkk area so we can all share info and get better from that evil thing.

    Dancing FoolFibromyalgia in Bangkok

I have full blown, severe Fibomyalgia. Have had the disease for over 25 years. Every day is a struggle. Especially when I have to work 12 hours a day. I have tried everything. And in my case, only homeopathic remedies helped to some extent. But I have run out, unfortunately.

Thais think I am not friendly becuase I don't smile much. They don't what it is like to live with 24/7 headaches etc. Mornings are especially difficult for me...

I recieved a couple of pm's from TV members with some extremely useful suggestions and tips. I thank you all very much.
