Are 7/11s classified as supermarkets ?
7 Elevens, Mini Marts, Family Marts are OPEN as they are classed as convenience stores. Pharmacies are also still open.

When things return to normal visit The Game Sports Bar & Grill, situated on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 9 (BTS Nana Skytrain Station). They have a wide selection of drinks, delicious Western pub grub, Thai food, live sports and pool tables. The manager Patrick is a great guy and the staff are fun and friendly. I'm surprised you don't know The Game.

Perhaps it's simply a case of when in Rome. By complying and wearing a face mask, we are not seen as rebellious foreigners. This is after all Thailand and not Farangland. ????

Supermarkets are still open because the Bangkok Governor announced shopping malls and restaurants were to close from March 22nd until April 12th.

This is just so sad, and for this to happen on Children's Day! May we pray that the Thai powers-that-be actually take action about this. After all, this disaster has happened to Thai children. I sincerely hope that the four critically injured children recover from this. What a disaster at the start of New Year!

Hi Mahout Angrit, my deepest condolences for the loss of your daughter in the Phuket Tsunami disaster.
My cousin survived the Tsunami and returned as a volunteer to Phuket. He recorded his story and the company magazine (where he has worked for over 30 years) gave his article the front cover. However, the company did not give one penny to the victims. All of my cousin David's expenses were paid by himself. The company could have given a small donation; I thought it was mean of them. The good news is that my cousin played a role in the volunteers programme.
