  1. Some entity is pouring a ton of money into renewing this course and is adding an additional 9 holes.  I saw some of the expansion fairways the other day when I played a round.  The hotel rooms seem to be complete and my caddie said they are filled with S. Korean guests.  I teed off at 11:00 and was done by 14:00.  I played solo so that helps with the time issue.  The greens and fairways were in pretty nice shape when I played.  Especially considering the drought we have up here in Kaeng Krachan.  Just to add to pi747's post, there is an additional 100 baht fee for weekends and holidays plus my 3 caddies that I have used can speek nitnoi english.  AND, there is a driving range and practice greens for your practice pleasure as well.

I wish they would offer some type of membership.  Maybe some day.

  2. In case someone might be interested, I drove to the Kaeng Krachan golf course because I was told by a guy that someone, or company, was breathing some fresh air into the course after it has been dormant for the past few years.  He wasn't lying.  Not only was a ton of work being done on the golf course, they appear to be building a bunch of hotel or condo rooms facing the 18th fairway.  I didn't talk to anyone at the course so all I can report is what I stated above.  Regarding the structure photo, to the left of the structure there is another unit under construction as well.

  3. I've been a gout sufferer for decades.  Inherited from my dad.  I've been on allopurinol for decades as well.  100 mg daily.  I have not read in this thread that anyone has used INDOMETHACIN (INDOCIN) for pain relief.  For me, it has been the best, by far, for reducing or eliminating the pain and swelling caused by gout.  It is available over the counter at most pharmacies.  It is a very strong NSAID but works fast.

Good luck to all you fellow gout sufferers.

  4. I believe the amount is still 400,000 baht and must be in an account in your name.  I think it has to be in the account 2 or 3 months  before applying for an extension.  I use this method of extension and it works ok.  Having to go to the bank to get the stamps and paperwork the same day you apply for the extension is an inconvenience.

If any more seasoned board members have more accurate information, please correct my post.  I am not sure about the account regarding whether or not your spouses name can be included as in a joint account.

  5. I have been enjoying fresh roasted Thai coffee beans from the following company listed on Lazada.  I order the grade A, 1 kilogram size for 499 baht.  Maybe even free shipping.  Please visit the following link:

I went to the US and got a new passport. Of course, my mistake I did not check the number of pages (for a thick passport with more pages) and got a skinny one. I will get a new one in the near future. I don't travel as much as I used to. So not in big hurry.

Are you able to request more pages at the time you apply for a new passport?  I would like to have one with additional pages if the option exists.

  7. I just checked out the pressure tank.  It was full of water and there was no air released when I pressed down on the stem for putting air in the tank.  I tried using a bike tire pump to add air but it wouldn't take any air.   Also, I might have described the problem a bit wrong in the OP.  When I turn on the water, the pump whines......for 10-15 seconds then kicks in.  However, not all the time.  As I mentioned in the OP, I've had to loosen the large cap on top (water supply intake), let some water run out, then re-tighten the cap.  Maybe it is time for a replacement pump.

  8. I have a Fujika water pump that is about 12 years old.  Now, on occasion, the pump will turn on but there is no water output.  A couple times a light tap make it pump water and a few other times I unscrewed the cap on top and let some water flow out, replaced the cap and the pump worked as normal.  I guess my question would be, is the pressure switch or pressure tank the most likely to be at fault?

Thanks, in advance for any helpful suggestions.

  9. My wife and I had a friend from the states buy some land in my wife's name.  When his relationship with another Thai lady ended, we sold the land for him.  We were able to transfer 1.3 million baht back to his U.S. bank via Bangkok Bank.  We did, however, have to split it into 2 wire transfers.  Apparently that help avoid scrutiny by others.  He received the funds without any issues.

Have you tried the new 90 day reporting site. It is much better than the old one.

I did my online report a few days ago and it worked.  However, I have been previously using Firefox on my win 10 laptop.  This time around it wouldn't work.  The fields to enter my login information were screwed up.  I tried using Edge and I was successful.  Took a couple days for approval but that's no big deal.

  11. I started this topic and thought I would update it to let you know that I was successful in getting my direct deposit sent to the Bangkok Bank, N.Y.  I used SSA-1199-OP107 (03-2020) the direct deposit sign up form for Thailand.

I had the bank here fill out their portion and I filled out the rest.  Scanned the first page and emailed to S.S. Manila.  My first deposit was successful within the first couple of days this month.  ATM usage is no issue.

Good luck to those making the switch or are already in the process.

I did the same; set up my SS on line using Bangkok Banks USA Routing\Transit Number: 026008691 and my account number.  I also have my FERS Retirement direct deposited to them as well.  As far as I know, Bangkok Bank will accept ACH transfers from all US Government agencies.  As mentioned there's no need to go to a Bangkok Bank branch to fill out a direct deposit form.  If you do the branch will have no clue as to the USA routing number and will use the international SWIFT code.

OK!  So what gets entered in the two fields at the bottom of page 1 of the SS form?  In the left field do I enter the 026008691 account number followed by my thai bangkok bank account number and nothing in the SWIFT code box?  Or do I use the bkkbus33 code for the new york bangkok bank swift code?

  13. I received the form to fill out to change my S.S. deposit from a U.S. bank to Bangkok Bank, New York.  I brought the form to a branch office over here and they were clueless.  "Never do before."   Can anyone on the forum who has successfully done this before help provide the correct information?

The person at the bank entered our Thai bank account in the Account Number area.  Then, entered BKKBTHBK in the Swift Code box.  They did not enter the "026008691" account number that is supposed to be used for the NY office.  When checking SWIFT codes, the code for the N.Y. office is "BKKBUS33".

Is the account # 02600869 to be entered on in the account field followed by our Thai account number in the same field?  Which SWIFT code is the correct one to use?  I included a pdf document of the form and the bottom two boxes on page 1 are what I am questioning.

Thanks, in advance, for any help anyone can provide.
