All men that visit Thailand are basically suckers waiting to be conned by Thai women. The chances of you getting a good one is like finding a needle in a haystack....Most women are on the game just wait for their prey..

This is the best news ever. Let them all go out of business & welcome to the real world. The best times of Pattaya are well & truly behind them. After all beers bars are nothing more than glorified pussy bars for dirty old men. It's just beers & pussy for cash !! Why not have a beer from 7-eleven & enjoy with friends round the swimming pool at your hotel. No more getting ripped off by bar girls & cheaper too.

Well, why don't us less than rich expats start car jacking all the Thai driving Mercedes Benz's? It cuts both ways. My point is I see plenty of wealth around me that makes me look like a beggar in any country but I don't go around jacking people of there wealth. However, I understand your point.
I agree with both of you

Philippines:
Bottle of wine £5-10
Bottle of beer 330ml 60-80p
Bottle of Rum, Vodka, Gin 70cl £1.50-4
Just a couple of examples that I found.
There are still a few things that I like to buy in Thailand but at the moment I want more Baht's for my £ to justify a journey.

Cost of living aside, yes PH is cheaper than TH but have been visiting the PH for 40 years now and never felt safe there as far as mugging, which i have experienced in Angeles city walking back to my hotel had a very expensive gold necklace ripped of my neck, you feel the locals eyeing you and what you got worth nicking off you while the police there is by far worse and more corrupt than in TH, and just for that the PH in not a viable option...
I must admit that I did have one bad experience in the PH where I had my phone stolen in a market but other than that no problems at all. Sometimes it's just a matter of not wearing or having expensive jewellery on show. I did have a Thai friend on her way home from work on her bike that had her necklace stolen from a bike gang so I guess it can happen anywhere.

But not your house and the taxes on it ......... which is the only thing that really counts.

Thailand is becoming ever more expensive with the Thai Baht now at only 37 for £1. I did a bit of research and many things are now cheaper in the UK. Now with my property sold in Thailand and a tidy profit made now find that the Philippines is the new Thailand. For a start everything is half or even less than Thai prices. No dual pricing like the Thais like to rip off the foreigners. For me Thailand is no longer the land of smiles. ????

I currently support 2 step kids in Thailand. If it gets any worse then they will have to fend for themselves. After all, how did they get by before a 'Farang' came into their lives ? I was going back to Thailand for our holiday again next year but now I'm considering somewhere else to spend my hard earned cash

call thai embassy in london once they have their UK birth certs, make an appt & they will tell you what papres/docs to bring & your twins will get thai birth cert & passports. Need to go in person with the kids & takes approx 4 weeks to get the pp & bc back.
congratulations.
Thanks for an ultra speedy reply

Hi all, A little advice needed if someone can help. My Thai wife is over here in the UK & is due to have my twins in a couple of months. I know that once they are born they will have UK nationallity & a UK passport. I am planning on living eventually in Thailand so I was wondering what the situation is on getting dual nationality & dual passports for my twins as they would be half Thai & half farang. If any one could advise me on how soon I must take them back to Thailand or point me in the right direction on who to contact about this would be most appreciated. I look forward to getting back to the 'LOS' very soon.

I wouldn't invest in Thailand no matter how cheap properties are. The best days are behind them now. We sold up a couple of years back & made a killing.
