  1. I have found using a LED HD 4K 32" HDMI TV works as good or better than the monitor plus it's a lot cheaper than a PC monitor. Also, I have found using the HDMI cable and not the VGA cable, is the better setup for my PC.  Only thing you may have to do is setup your display settings, i.e.  1280X720, to what is best for you. Yes, I do know that Windows 10 and/or the graphic card will set it up automatically, but I have found that their recommended setting is most times either too small or too large.

  3. Looks good, but I would not recommend it do to a couple things 1) does not have optic drive (DVD/CD drive) 2) Does not have dual wi-fi, most modems have 2.4G/5.0G wi-fi which makes downloading/uploading faster3) RAM not enough, I recommend 12GB at least. Doesn't say but Windows 10 is more then likely the single language one which can not be upgraded to regular Windows 10 or Pro. 4) Not enough USB ports need at least 4. If it was me, I would be looking at a good brand name product, i.e.. Dell, HP, ASUS, ACER etc.., which Lazada/Shopee have, but it boils down to what you like, good luck.

  4. One thing I did was save the my quick polarity tester from the USA. I know US 120 volts and here 230 volts, but the tester does work here and has worked going on 15 years here.  It only has 3 lights on it, One is red and two of them are Amber. You just plug it into the outlet and it will tell you by the lights if you have open earth ground, reverse polarity on L and N or if the Earth Ground and Neutral are switched. I have enclosed a photo of it.  As I said I've used this for 15 years here in Thailand and about 35+ is the States.

  5. One thing you real need to check and that for REVERSE POLARITY and you will need a digital multimeter, a few 100 THB and a little voltage checked screw drive.  The handle lights up if there is power present. You'll need to check all your outlets, and make sure the small slot is LINE +, power in and has voltage going to it, the larger slot is NEUTRAL, that's like  a ground or - negative, and the round one is EARTH GROUND. All three of my houses I found that all most all had the LINE and NEUTRAL wires were switched or the EARTH GROUND wasn't connected or switched with the NEUTRAL.  They can and will cause all kind of problems especially with electronics such as computers and TVs and power supplies...Good luck

  6. I've had both and found that the Honda Jazz is the best buy and warranty coverage.  The Toyota Yaris we had developed a crack front brake pad under the 3 year warranty with only 9,000km on it and Toyota would not honor the warranty and made me pay almost 4,000 THB for replacement and labor. I will never buy another Toyota.

  7. Highly recommend going to custom office and talk to them.  In Chiang Mai it's the big building next to the International depart/arrival part of Airport. on right side of building 2nd door.  They do speak in English and will help you.  I had the same problem and had them talk to DHL in Bangkok and I received my items the next day.

  8. I have just one question and if you don't know the answer, please do not post. I'm going to Bangkok for a week and will be staying at a hotel. I know that they will do a TM30 on me there. My question is when I get back to Chiang Mai, do I have to redo my TM30 and a TM28 again???Bob

  9. I'm in the San Kampheng area and had CAT for 1 year and got rid of them and went with 3BB. With CAT I would go done for no reason and be done from 1hour to 2or4 days. They came out to the house several times but never fixed the problem. By the way this was their fiber optics 25mbps system. At present I'm using the 3BB 15mbps DSL system but plan on changing over to their fiber optics system. I have had some problems with 3BB but not half as bad as with CAT. In the past I have had all the providers and have had only good service from True Cable. Unfortunately my new Moo Ban doesn't have True so I'm stuck with 3BB, which is better then CAT. Also, don't go AIS fiber, it's my understanding they are using the CAT servers and system.

  10. It is not only TOT with the problems but all providers. CAT is the main country provider to all IPS and they have been having "upgrading difficults" with the Servers specially the ones out of country. The Server for up country to Bangkok was running downloads at 25-30mbps, upload 3.01mbps with a 14bs ping rate. USA Server was 1.07mbps download and a 2.97mbps with 287bs ping rate. This was on CAT's servers but remember True, 3BB, TOT go thru them. I have no update of when this will be fixed for good, but today the servers are working, seem to be for now, okay.

  11. I have found to ship to the US and get there, is by Thailand Post International Registered mail. The cost is around 85 to 130 baht and you can track it by theThailand EMS tracking system and USPS tracking once it leaves Thailand. In the 5 years I've used it I have had no more packages nor letters lost thru the mail.

  12. 18000 BTU will work find and you won't have to worry about the heat load, this will also work great for 4X5X2.9. By the way, anything over 15% humidity in air will cause the evap cooler not to work very good, but it will increase the humidity. Evap cooler are great in the desert only not here in Thailand!!!This from a Air Cond person for over 30 years.

  13. The second part of your question, or first part, is about the site and I to tell the truth I have had some problems contacting them. If you email them thru their site, I have found that they will get back to you usually. By phone, I never did get them except on the Thai line never the English one. They will also answer on Skype SMS messaging only. They did take their Super English IPTV box back and upgraded me to the MaigeTV box at the cost difference, but it did take some time. I hope this answers your questions....Bob89110

  14. To answer your question, I do have MaigeTV which is transmitter over the internet and not by satellite dish. For me I have found it ok with some minor problems like the menu is in Chinese along with the remote, but it is still easy to use. This is a legal service and cost around 420 per month ( paid one time per year at about 5000 baht)plus the initial change for the box and first year service. It is up to you what you want or can put up with. I did have the Super English IPTV and found it a piece of junk and won't recommend it to my worst enemy. I've now have had the MaigeTV for over 2 months and it seems okay, but it is still your choice. Good luck.

  15. Had problems for over 3 weeks and had called it in. Each one I contacted at 3BB acted like it was my fault and basically ignored me. Last Wednesday I had True Online cable installed and went downtown to Pantip and cancelled my 3BB international connection. So far True cable is working better then 3BB has ever done, plus True called the following day to check how the install went and how the internet is and this is something 3BB has never done. My location is pass Bo Sang on 1317 in Karnkanok development #1. P.S. I've had both TOT and 3BB internet, but True beats both of them hands down.

  16. You mentioned your box is cheaper, which it is by 4000 baht, but the 12 month renewal is 7000 baht for the Thai IPTV and for the Super English IPTV is 6000 baht. Food for thought, but no real differeance. You need to find out who belongs to your server and work thru them at renewal time.

What the renewal price will be in another 10 months, or if the service even exists then is a moot point.

Lots of people pay for the Vietnam satellite service .......... before that ........

You make your choice, you pays your money, you takes your chance.

You want safe ....... pay Truevisions 1,800bht a month.

Good come back, I'm very impressed.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you,TommoPhysicist, and all of you out there.

  18. Well that would explain a lot of things.

Can't imagine the international bandwidth from China will be all that good, no matter what your home Mbs.

The BK connection is just fine. You should have gone for the Thai box, cheaper and works well.

I agree, but at the time when I read the Super English IPTV ad, the Thai Iptv was not mentioned till after I bought the Super English IPTV. The only problem is your using the same company, IpTV-Thailand, and I'm concerd whether they will be around next week, month or year...They appear very shady and I believe that the Thai Communcations will eventually get in the act.
