He must have inherited his millions. I don't see how he could be smart enough to have earned it.

I cannot connect online most US financial institutions, I am with. This includes Vanguard, BOA and NYCB. Also I could not log onto NatWest in the UK. The only US institution I can connect to is Fidelity. I was told by Vanguard that they didn't accept log ons from Thailand because of scams and fraud.
So I got a VPN and still couldn't connect, when I called Vanguard tech support and he said "Oh you are calling from Thailand."
I said I was using a VPN and he said "yes we know when you are using a VPN, so it still screens yo out."
So each time I have to call the institution and verify who I am and then they let me log on, but next time it is the same story. I used to travel a lot and could log on from other countries in EU, UK Japan etc, but even that has stopped now. I'm going back to close my bank accounts because it is pointless having them. I'll have my pensions paid into a joint account with my son and put the proceeds from the closed bank accounts into that. He will have access to the mobile account and will make any desired transactions. I do the same in the UK with another family member.
Strange what you say about Vanguard. I have had accounts with them for over 40 years. I never had trouble logging onto them from Thailand until about 7-8 years ago. Thinking perhaps I had a computer or internet problem, I tried a friends computer with the same result. He suggested I try using a VPN with a U.S. IP address. It worked and I have used a VPN ever since with no problems. I have, in fact, used several different VPN apps with good results. I am currently using the free version of VeePN with an Oregon based IP address. It always works perfectly. That said, I think Vanguard's customer service, especially to relatively small investors, has declined in the last few years and I am thinking of taking my business elsewhere.

You will need the $50,000 insurance valid for 30 days when you enter the country.
As said if you are covered under Social Security you will not need the insurance.
I thought that the $50,000 health insurance had to be valid for the amount of time remaining on one's current visa or extension of stay.

Question. Is the identity number in the yellow house book the same as the identity number on a pink ID card?

I am an expat and I have received free flu vaccinations for several years at the local health clinic in the village where I reside. I have also been allowed to take part in some local health screening programs for parasites and I regularly have blood pressure checks there.

Shouldn't be too expensive. I had a friend that everytime he got a new girl friend (which was quite often) would get himself and the lady tested at a hospital near the "fun zone" and get the results right away. He is a cheap Charlie by the way.

There should be another choice for the survey. "All of the above."

I also extended in Udon Thani last month using an embassy affidavit of income. It took perhaps 30 minutes from the time I entered the office. I was not asked for, nor did I provide, any proof or source of income information. I was reminded that next year I would either have to show 800,000 Baht in the bank or evidence of 65,000 per month deposit foreign transfers for 12 previous months.

Lucky for her she wasn't in the U.S. The cops there would have just shot her.

Him being in the race is the best chance for Democrats to take the presidency and take back or make some gains in congress. If he wins it will be interesting to see how badly (bigly) he screws up. Saying " som nam na" (serves you right) for the next 4 years to my Trump supporting friends will be fun.

I wonder how many gunshot victims would have survived if they had access to better emergency services here in Thailand.

Get rid of the dog. Stay out of the milk barn. Say no and see how long your GF still love you.

Just do what ever you want (like most drivers here), but make sure you don't have an accident. The odds that you will be caught and fined by the police here are virtually zero, unless you are involved in an accident.

I always love when people say Thais could teach English. There are certainly fluent english speakers here, but they can command a much higher salary doing almost anything else than teaching. Having taught a number of Teacher Training camps, the 'fluency' of Thai English teachers is a major factor in Thai students scoring so low on competency tests. Also there are more than a few ESL certificates that are rigourous in their training and include observed classroom instruction and have a internationally standardized grading system. Why wouldn't these people be qualifed to teach? They would be in other countries.
What is a fluent English speaker anyway? I have met scores of Thais described as fluent in English, but perhaps only a handful truly captured the essence of the English language with its idioms, irony, sarcasm, and phraseology.

So if an Italian citizen who has absolutely no history of visa runs and arrived in Thailand obtaining a 30 day visa exempt status because he did not have time to get a proper tourist visa, wants to stay here longer than 30 days. Will he be able to travel to Vientianne, Laos get a proper Thai tourist visa from the Thai embassy, and be allowed reentry at the Friendship bridge immigration checkpoint, Nong Khai, into Thailand in order to stay an additional 30 or so days? He will be able to show sufficient funds and plane ticket back to Italy before the expiration of his newly issued tourist visa.
This applies to my son-in-law visiting with his Thai wife. They live in Italy and are staying only two months. This is not a visa run in the sense of someone doing it repeatedly in order to stay in Thailand for an indefinite period of time. Before anyone says,"He should have gotten a proper tourist visa before coming." I know, I know, but it just didn't work out this time. Last minute travel plans, etc.

What a crock. Morality codes and analytical skills don't mix. You cannot solve problems find alternatives when you are bound by moral codes.
