  1. I can get an OTP and log in now.

The only difference is that you can now try and book 30 October as well as remaining times on 26 and 27.

Perhaps this is the new normal. They release dates 30 days ahead, first come, first served. Explains why no dates were available prior to 26 Oct, being 30 days from when the new system went online

Before there were two appointments available for each time slot, now appears to be only one. Not got that far though as no dates suit my needs

  2. I did my first 90 Day Report online at Samut Prakarn. I say online, but it was pending for two days, so I assumed it would not happen. I prepared papers and went to the office. At the office I was told that I could report but my wife and kids all had to come in person! I said that is ridiculous because normally it can be done online, to which she said, well why don't you do it online? I said I did but as it is first time, it stuck pending, Showed her on my phone, she took phone, went to a computer and said "All done!". Sure enough, when she passed my phone back the 90 Day confirmation came in by email. Sat and waited for other 3 to come through and departed. She still took all my paperwork though!

According to SP immigration ALL 90 Day reports can be done online. If you need help she gave me a Line address: @spk.90day

All I know is what happened to me. FYI

  3. The previous test & go set a limit of 2 hrs drive so no hotels in HH could comply. It seems that has changed but many hotels are scrambling to work out how to comply, hence the lack of info. I know Hilton offer packages, but require minimum 3 day consecutive stays, I am sure others will too.

  4. That said. You have to admire the cool, calm, collected  decision making process of the SRT that they decide to cut services now, some 4 weeks after the recent outbreak when numbers seem broadly under control.. A bit like the train services themselves, slow and steady.

  5. Personally I prefer the new sanitized versions of Chang and Singha. Especially the day after. Though, that said, I also miss the first Singha flavour when off the flight and landed. Also the erratic buzz from the old 'atleast 6.4%' Chang.

Was bought Tapper recently, in error, brewed by Chang and in my opinion a similar flavour to the old Chang. The OP may care to try one. He may like it. Only in cans, I believe.

  6. It is very easy to get a TIN as a foreigner here on a long term visa. As above, ask the local office, bring all your docs, no two offices will require the same. Took less than an hour in Bangna, even during lunchtime.

As the OECD rolls out CRS it will become increasingly difficult to conduct financial transactions, operate bank accounts or buy and sell real estate outside Thailand without a Thai TIN if you are resident here.

From early 2019 I had to provide my Thai TIN to be able to continue to use my bank accounts in HK and China, some I have had for 30 years.

The risk is that Thailand may seek in the long term to tax residents on global income. However, there are far more Thais, much richer than us, with far more to lose and more influence that will not be keen on that happening any time soon.

This is a similar story to that of a Japanese father, Toru Kumon, a Japanese educator, in 1958.  He started teaching his son at home at night using a series of work sheets he developed.  Don't be put off by the fact that is it rote memorization based because, simply put, it works extremely well for subjects like simple math, history, or language learning.  Here is a link to the Wikipedia page:   Wikipedia - Kumon.

This method is now used for many subjects and the worksheets can be purchased in many languages from a company named Kumon.  Here is a link to the math program.

    Kumon Math Program

I would recommend Kumon also. Both my kids do some every day. No screens until completed. Typically 10-15 mins needed a day.

Needs to be managed as they are inclined, in my experience, to give too much homework, so as to provide value for money to parents. A couple of pages each day working the way up through the basics can do wonders. Not just in terms of passing exams, but in terms of confidence and not being intimidated by maths.

  8. I recommend you contact "Fatboy's Thai Drivers License Service: Bangkok", Google them. I do not speak good enough Thai, nor fancied sussing it all out myself. They worked out and advised what I needed to do prior to going, arranged medical and took me through the process at the DLT in Bangkok. All for what I considered a small and very worthwhile fee.

No axe to grind, just received good service and happy to refer.

For what it is worth I have been doing online banking with a joint account from Krungsri, making almost 20 transactions, so far, since 8 June.

I would suggest the policy is not absolute, but discretionary as mentioned above.

My wife as joint account holder is NOT Thai. That may be a crucial point.

Update: As of 17 Sep the same happened to me rendering our joint account ineligible for online or app based transactions. I guess there is (has been and will be) a roll out of this policy taking place.

Why on earth is is so piecemeal and ad hoc? Surely, you have a new policy, announce it with a future date to take effect. Simple. Apparently not.

  10. I had a similar experience with regards the Tabien Baan as the OP. Our house is in a mooban developed by Land & House outside Bangkok. Upon purchase we received the empty blue Tabien Baan from the seller and on the first page along with the address it includes the developers name. We queried this at the Amphoe and they said this is normal. Subsequently when I registered myself and received a new yellow Tabien Baan it still has the developer's name on the first, address page.

It appears completely standard procedure on newer developments to do this. In terms of visa extension, the reason given seems to be a red herring. It is not that the development company is registered at the property, (which is impossible, as above), but that the owner is not.

  11. "Would i be better off paying it to my current account in home country this year. Then trasferring it to Thailand in 2021?"

Yes. Paying dividends here directly could possibly be interpreted as current year income. Remit the equivalent funds indirectly from your overseas bank account, even this year without waiting until 2021, could only be considered as remitting past income or savings, just like any other remittance used for living expenses.

If you are worried, why take the risk?
