Thankyou for your replies, I'm now not so sure about the train. The 13 00 train I imagine gets to HH quite late.
Are the mini vans from Victory Monument easy to find? I think I can get a bus there from the aiport tranportation centre.
Maybe the train next time!

Hi, I will be arriving at BKK airport at 0700 hrs on a friday morning and I need to get to Hua Hin.
I normally use the the free shuttle bus to the transportation centre and then bus 556 to the southern bus terminal then catch the bus to Hua Hin from there.
However for a change I want to take the train.
My plan is to catch the airport express bus AE 4 to the railway station, there is a train that leaves BKK at 0920. will I be at the station in time to catch this train?
I can't find out how often the buses leave the airport or how long it takes from the airport to the railway station.
Or is there a better way way of getting to the station from the airport? I don't want to use a taxi.
Thankyou in advance for any advise.

Which Airport? Don Muang or Suwarnabhum?
Taxi is the best option in any case. However, you can also take public bus. I think 551 from Airport to Victory Monument.
Here's the link to more information about the public bus from the airport to Victory Monument. Go to the 4th floor, where you catch a free shuttle to the transport terminal, then get on bus 551 to Victory Monument. It costs 35 baht and is a pretty quick ride to town. Its a great deal although its best if you are traveling light.
Thankyou for the link, that will do it for me.

There is also a minibus service from the bus terminal at the airport to Victory Monument. It departs from the same general area at the bus terminal as the regular buses, just look around for a group of minibuses and ask for the one to Victory Monument. The ticket booth ladies speak English, and the fare is (or was) 45 Baht -- but you will have to buy an additional seat if you have voluminous luggage.
I have used it a few times, and it's a good service, but be advised it sets you down on the other side of Victory Monument from the departure point for the minibuses to Hua Hin. No problem if you are travelling light, but a pain if you have heavy suitcases.
If you have heavy or bulky luggage, take a taxi.
Thankyou, I look forward to giving it a try.

Hi, I will be moving from the UK to Hua Hin later this year, I am having a house built and the garden will be pretty much barren apart from one mango tree and a coconut palm, the builder is going to plant jasmine bushes all around the perimiter of the property, I have always been a keen gardener in the UK and would like to continue this in my new home, so my question is what will grow in my new garden i.e. fruit and vegetables, and is there somewhere local that I can buy them?
Thankyou in advance.

Hi Fun2Fun, thankyou for you quick reply, I am having a house built in Hua Hin, I went out in late December and did use taxis both ways, and as you said it was very convenient and not very expensive, but as I will be going back out several more times in the next few months I would like to try the bus once just for the hel_l of it! I would also like to try the train for the same reason.

Suvarnabhumi Airport To Hua Hin

Hi, last Friday I went to the transportation centre via the airport shuttle bus only to find that bus number 556 to the Southern bus terminal has been cancelled indefinitely. After a lot of messing around I got a minivan (360 Bhat for me and my suitcase) to Victory Monument and caught a number 28 bus to the Southern bus terminal where my usual coach to Hua Hin had also been cancelled. So another 360 Bhat for a minivan.
Can someone please tell me the easiest and cheapest way of getting from the airport to Hua Hin?
Thankyou.
