  1. If you come into the country with a tourist visa received from outside Thailand (not a VOA) can you not convert to a Non-O Multi Family Support or Thai Child within Thailand at the Immigration office where you are addressed? That is what I did with my last Non O Visa. Im sure in Bangkok it would be hard, but it is possible to do here depending on the Imm Officer. (Without Greasing the Wheels)

  2. I dont see where the problems come from. I work in the oilfield and am in and out every 28 days for 8 years now on visa on arrival, with no issues. Have been pulled up a couple times and questioned then let in no issues. There has to be something with some of the people getting refused entry that isnt being listed.

  3. I come in and out of Thailand every month as I work monthly rotation. Came in with tourist visa on arrival 30 day stamp for years. Started getting asked at BKK why I’m coming so often but never a problem and was always let in without incident. Changed to renew passport at embassy in Bangkok transferred current stamp and left Thailand. Upon re entry with new passport, never a question again at entry in bkk airport. Dunno if because of new PP or just stopped asking ????

I’ve never been asked to show 10 or 20 k baht or departure itinerary by immigration. Been doing it for 8 years every 28 days in 28 days out

  4. If your child has a thai passport and a resident of Thailand you can get a Non O Multi entry Thai child / Thai Wife, in Bangkok Immigration Office. I have done it. This year mine was denied due to, after initial visit with all documentation and pictures the visa was approved. Then you are required to return to the office 30 days later to receive the stamp in the passport. As I also work out of the country I had to leave Thailand before the 30 day return date, I made them aware of this and they put a 60 day stamp in my passport so I could return for the stamp when I returned. Unfortunately I didnt get a Re-Entry permit in the airport prior to leaving Thailand and this is why it was denied. Now have to start all over and do it all again :) but it will be approved, they purposely make it difficult to discourage im guessing and you never get the same information in 2 diff places at any given time.

  5. I came in for nearly 5 years every other month on a tourist visa, (US passport) before they started asking questions at the airport. As I work overseas and am out of the country for 30 days it may be a different story. From 2012-2016. They started asking questions at the airport every time I came in after that and one time the officer showed me the screen, the screen was bordered in red with no other information. The officer sent me to the supervisor who asked a few questions and sent me on my way to baggage claim with my tourist stamp. I did break down and get a non O thai wife visa after that.

  6. I have a question about banking in Thailand. Next year my wife(Thai) and I will be relocating to Thailand from the USA. I am an offshore oil and gas worker on a 28 and 28 rotation currently in Mexico. Right now the wife has been in the USA for 6 years and all our money is being banked in the USA. My question is, when we move to Thailand what would be the best / safest place to have my salary deposited? Currently we have a joint account in Thailand and use the ACH system to transfer money via BKK NYC from my account in the USA. My current bank in the USA doesnt have an option for transfers online so I cant do that without changing banks. Would it be advisable to have my entire salary deposited into the BKK account as my company wire transfers USD every month. I am no positive about but have heard that once money is in Thailand its difficult to send it out of Thailand. The amount of money is lets say around 15,000 USD monthly, what would you experienced guys suggest. Some have advised me to us a bank in Singapore or the USA to hold the funds and transfer as needed to BKK bank but that could be aggravating at times for bills, ins payments and such, Any suggestions welcome and thanks in advance.

  7. First Ill introduce myself, I am Corey, and am an American currently married to a Thail wife and have been living in the USA for the past 6 years. My wife and I are planning to move to Thailand next year and are currently building a house in Ayuthaya, Thailand. We have a son soon to be 4 years in June and will require an International or English teaching school when we move there. We are currently looking to also purchase a home in ChonBuri or Pattaya area due to the distance to the schools. What I would like some feedback on is 1. Where would you veterans suggest buying a home. I am not into the whold Pattaya Crazy nightlife scene and dont really want to be too close to that and 2. Which International or English teaching school would you suggest? Thanks for any replies in advance. I have searched through the forum and there is loads of info there, Just want something a lil more detailed. Thanks gain, Corey
