Bear in mind that the senior official at your immigration office has discretion to waive financial seasoning rules if, in his view, you clearly have the required funds, and only have a technical departure from the published rules. Many senior officials are reluctant to exercise this discretion (at least without financial inducements) but if your office is friendly, you may be lucky. At least it is worth asking.

Good to know thanks. Yes we did end up talking to someone senior and explained. We didn't ask we were passed over twice to try and help. I may try and go with what I have which is money that has arrived in Thailand in batches but not covering all of the requirements.  I will show I have admitted fault and demonstrate that its wont happen again. Fingers crossed, otherwise its a trip away for me and leave the wife looking after our kid or all 3 of us go away. I do fancy a break ????

  2. Thanks very much. I think I will try and print out the Transfers from Transferwise. I have just checked with them and they now have a dropdown on the app for reason for sending the money as For long term Thailand Visa at the bottom. The guy I spoke to is finding out what that will do if the money is sent that way. It seems a bit of a random option to have in there and must have been placed in there for a reason.

  3. Just an update. I went to immigration today and they declined the 60 day extension because I had done one already in 2017. Took a while to explain this but this is how they said it works.

1st Year / Marriage visa applied and accepted 2017. It ended and I extended for 60 days after.

2nd Year / Extended / or applied again cant remember with proof of funds Marriage visa extended for 12 months.

3rd Year / Now Oct 7th 2019 marriage visa expiring and can't extend for 60 days because I did this before in 2017.

The wife and I both questions this as I thought you could extend every 12 months for 60 days but seems you can't.

They have given me an option rather than leaving to give proof of funds transfers to Thailand for the last 6 months showing minimum of 40k Baht. This would renew for 12 months without leaving the country.

This is causing a problem because I had 1 large transfer in February for around 1 million baht and several 10 - 15 transfers of around 30 - 50k which were sent visa Transferwise and showing up on statements as Local transfers when they were sent from abroad.

I'm thinking what I can do to not have to leave the country before my visa runs out. Seen several topics on the Transferwise transfers not showing from international but cant find anyone that has successfully renewed with them.

You can apply for a 60 day extension (there is no 30 day extension you can get) to visit your wife to get enough time to have the 400k baht in bank for 2 months and then apply for the one year extension.

KL want to see 400k baht in the bank for a single entry non-o visa.

Vientiane and Savannakhet will do a single entry non-o with no financial proof needed.

This does seem like the best option now. Thank you

  5. Just wanted a some advice from someone with some more experience in doing this.

Been on a marriage visa with a child for 3 years renewed every year and my next renewal is coming up in 3 week.

I forgot to send the 400k for proof to extend (still slapping myself) I don't send money over that regally and when I do its to my wifes account for living expenses.

    What are my options now?

I was thinking of going to KL anyway with the wife for a day. Apply at 12 am and pick up a new non 0 the next day. Send the minimum 400k into Thailand and leave it 2 months and expend for a year in Thailand.

I take it in KL I just need the marriage certificate and the other requirements and they are not going to ask to see that 400k in Thailand for 2 months?

Any other options that would be easer. I know I can extend in Thailand for 1 month but that still wont help me as when I try to extend after I would have only had the money in my account for 5 weeks.

    Thanks

  6. Hi All,

I am from the UK and recently got married to a Thai. Since then we have been doing a little traveling in a out of Thailand. When I arrived back in Thailand I was given the usual 30 day Visa Exempt at the airport. This ran out a few days ago and I want to Immigration yesterday and extended it for 30 more days.

What do you think is best I do? Just to recap a few things.

    British Passport

Currently on: Visa Exempt on 30 Day extension

Married to a Thai National with Marriage certificate etc.

Have over 600K in a Thai bank account for the last 6 weeks.

Currently renting in Bangkok and the lease is in my name.

    Regards

  7. Hi There

I'm currently in Thailand with a Non immigrant B visa that expired Dec 2010. (No work permit I'm just looking around for business ideas). I need to leave in around 10 days and when I return I will only get 30 days as a tourist.

So my question is I have been told that I can leave and go to Lao get an exit stamp for leaving thailand and then apply at the Thailand embassy for a new Non Immigrant B visa as long as I have all the paperwork. Letter from company in UK etc. Is this true?

Does anyone have any better ideas? Anywhere closer? Maybe I can fly to a county nearby but I don't know who would issue the non immigrant B visas easier.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  8. Hi All

I have a Non Immigrant B Visa multiple entry for 1 year. I need to leave the country every 3 months. I have to leave before the 20th April.

    I have a few questions.

I am in the process of applying for a work permit but my Layer cant do it at the moment as there are so many holidays it wont be done in time. Is there any way of getting an extension without leaving Thailand?

If I need to leave Thailand and come back in to get the reentry stamp where is the best place to go? We have our our Car and I don’t like spending time on Buses etc. If I went to one of the land borders will I get 3 months? What is the cost?

If someone could advise that would be great.

    Thanks

  9. Here are my results from TOT. I have a 4mg SME connection paying 6,800 a month.

What a joke, I have been complaining for weeks, they say to restart and try again each time and it's still the same. I am giving up on getting a decent connection in Bangkok. My dial up was quicker back home or even connecting via my mobile. EDGE or GPRS. I dont understand how people use the internet over here.

These results are connection to the US

  11. Thanks for the reply,

Cost is not really a problem, I am currently paying £79 a month for a 2meg line. I was just checking to make sure that some how I could get good Internet. I had thought about having two lines just in case. I would say that I could pay up to 8000 Bhat a month.

  12. Hi All,

I currently live in the UK with my Thai Girlfriend (She came here with her parents 10 years ago)

We are looking at quiting our full time jobs and moving to Thailand for 6-12 months. For the last few years I have been running a successful Internet business that I can run from anywhere in the world so the idea was to run if from Thailand.

All I really need is an office, telephone and Broadband. The problem I am having is there does not seem to be much information about it online. Can anyone recommend a good Broadband provider. I would need it as fast as it gets. I am also interested to know the contention of the line. So if there is a 2 meg line then how many people are sharing that bandwidth. I would also need the service to be very reliable.

We would look at staying in Pattaya or maybe Bangkok. I would prefer Pattaya. I would also be looking for a few locals to help out if you know of anywhere that has staff and if there are any good web programmers that speak English. Do you know what the going rate is? I have some staff in Bulgaria that I will keep on but I would be nice to employee a few locals.

    Sorry.. Loads of questions

    Thanks
