  1. Thaksin is a polarizing figure for sure. But love him or hate him, and whether you think he is innocent, or guilty; would you be confident that anybody, accused of any crime in Thailand, could actually return to this country and receive a 'fair' trial under the Thai justice system? The entire society is so riddled with cronyism, nepotism, corruption, acts of revenge, etc., only the most naive would place any trust in it.

Point taken but don't forget he did get a fair trial in regard to his conviction and 2 year jail sentence for serious abuse of authority. The evidence was well displayed that he had broken the law, and the case heard and his conviction happened when he was in the PM seat.

Plus there has been plenty of details floating around which seem to be pretty solid in regard to many of the charges for corruption / massive corruption. But of course innocent until proved guilty.

And don't forget the 18 year jail terms handed down recently to the KT bank seniors for corruption, the paymaster was clearly the mastermind of this 'event'.

It's amusing to hear your score card on the long gone TS.

    How about the juntas?

Is their armed seizing and overthrow of an elected democracy a crime ?

What of the arrests of people on Facebook ?

Some for simply ""liking a post"

    The attitude adjustment camps

    Jail sentences

    Fear & and oppression.

    Where's your"little scorecard "" on those eh?

You know cowards exist in all sections of society but the public front of some here are hard to watch.

Gutless people propping up a force that allows elite companies to bully children .

    Rob freedoms .

Make people subjected to fear and demand servitude .

    Shallow little men .

Some with avatars of boys .

Haunt sites promoting human rights abusers.

    Shame

    Another pathetic and misinformed/twisted view..

You seem to have forgotten that the last Government was running rampant with blatant corruption and shoddy management. You talk about gutless people propping up a force that allows elite companies to bully Children.....who were the gutless people who lobbed grenades into a crowd that Killed children.

If there was a list of people who should attend attitude adjustment camps, you would be on top of that list

  2. History shows their are girlie men cowards , and those who fight .

Causes like freedom have been some of the reasons peaceful men resort to arms .

When their denied natural justice .

    Democracy .

    Rights.

Advocating ""self determination """ and violence are two different things.

It's not our battle but a counter coup could arise with a strong rebellion.

Political scientists and South East Asian observers have said Thailand may well have ""triggers"" in their political divides .

Someone gullible with little understanding to the depth of support of the ex leader(s)

May not fathom the rank and file in miltary are not all yellow .

Most come from families who voted for the reds over many elections.

The army only has control because men with guns for now are obeying orders.

A rogue general is all that's required.

Happily those same soldiers might be happy to arrest the junta .

What's being said is no one knows what happens next , if the democratically elected PM is jailed .

Western responses won't be favourable either.

You are way off base,. The last PM was not democratically elected. She was placed in the position by her criminal brother due to the fact that he ran Phue Thai with the support of his bottom licking Cronies..

  3. Now the Deputy PM speaks for the court? How the hell can he say what the court will or will not do. It just shows you who running the courts here.

    Hardly a surprise !!

Since 19 months back the legislative, the executive and the judicial branches are in the hand of one man !!

Commonly known as a ( the forbidden word)......................coffee1.gif

And prior to That the Thai Government was in the hands of one man (unelected)

  4. The governor is just a lackey for the junta. The junta are a bunch of scared little school boys. This is what scared little school children do.

It's censorship at it's worst. Pretty soon anyone publishing books or literature against the junta is going to start going missing.

Any sensible person would ban the calenders if it showed an escaped felon on it. I would suggest it is a bakdoor attempt to keep The Shinawatras in the news. I don't know why Yingluck is intent on the idea as she has been banned from politics for 5 years.

While I can sympathize with the commenters on here, you do have to be really careful when you condone the withholding of due process under the law for for individual cases, say denying someone you don't care his day in court and justice under the law. Particular examples have a horrible way of becoming generalized principles.

If 5 officers beat Michael Adebolajo up and broke his teeth, this is clearly against the law and even if he murdered 100 people he is entitled, the law to sue for compensation and to have the case heard by a court. If we don't respect the human and legal rights of people we don't like, then why on earth would anyone respect our own human and legal rights? If prison officers are entitled to beat this fellow up, why can;t they beat up others they don't like, pedophiles for example? Or you if you were unlucky enough to be sent to prison and the warders didn't like your face for some reason, why can't they just smash your teeth out?

On another issue, I am not altogether clear why a beheading death seems to be considered to be so worse than another death, say being bombed and dying a lingering death from shrapnel in the gut, or being hit with napalm or some other incendiary device, both of which would be much more painful to the person being killed. In medieval times it was a privilege reserved for nobility to be beheaded instead of being hanged, and in the French Revolution was done for speed. I would welcome any reasoned thoughts on what our revulsion at beheading is based on.

This POS who the police shot and wounded at the crime scene should never seen a court room.

There is no reasoned thoughts on this killing. There is plenty of video's online if you care to look.

I will stand by my statement, he should have died at the crime scene.

I agree. There is only one outcome that befits a radicalised Jihadist and that is to grant their wish to go to Paradise (as soon as Possible)

  6. would the "right to bear arms" in the USA extend to owning a small nuclear weapon or a rocket propelled grenade.

It seems reasonable since every lunatic now has an Armalite, so the reasonable majority should have the advantage, according to the founding fathers

That is why we arm,to protect our selfs from those lunatics

I thought that was a Policemans Job.....not yours.

  7. I think the Thai Police should look at any Syrian (Who has flown into Thailand from Syria). A lot of Syrians are on the move to Europe or in refugee Camps. Others are fighting for/against the Government. A lot have been driving Tanker trucks for ISILand the remainder are trying to eke out a living. I find it strange that there are Syrians who are paying to come on holidays to Thailand....definitely worth a look at their backgrounds

  8. During the call, the women were told how their new European love interest was being detained at the airport with more than one million Baht in cash and needed 100,000 Baht transferring into an account immediately in order pay custom charges on the cash.

Cute story, a new variant of the sick water buffalo story.

Was certainly a lot of work to chat with hundreds of women.

But finally he has found 10 naive women.

Got today again an eMail from Nigeria.

A prince have 10 million US dollars in his account.

If I send him $ 5,000 he wants to share with me his 10 million.biggrin.png

Seems to be a lot of Nigerians millionaire. 555

Not this guy in the photo......he can't afford decent clothing

  9. What was the Journalist doing stumbling around on private Property. The owner had every right to tell the journo to Pee off. Must be a slow news day in Pattaya. If I had my wishes come true, there would be many more Cockerals hung from trees or whatever. Isn't cock fighting illegal in Thailand ??

  10. I have a crazy notion that someone overseas has sort of arranged this feeler, to see how the land lies.

She is not a person to be quizzed on the Thai situation, If these EU persons had any brains they would interview someone like an elder statesman say Gen-P.

If Gen P is an elder statesman then so is Bob Mugabe.

Mugabe probably knows more about Thailand than Yingluck !!

  11. Why is it a childish reaction to disallow somebody to leave the country while they have a serious court case running?

Are there special laws for (foul) politicians?

well, the conversations or dicussions in EU wouldn't take long. She could be back just in time. As long she is not convicted she is INNOCENT !

So everybody who has a serious court case running can leave the country -and so avoid being available if addicted?

would it be a serious court case? A fair court case by an elected government which is entitled to judge? Not at all.

The current Govt. has been endorsed/appointed or whatever by His majesty the King. Are you against that decision?? So called "Elected" governments in the past don't really have a good track record of creating fair and Impartial Courts.

  12. Sounds like a sensible decision which is not really debatable by those not personally aquainted with the entire saga of this little gal and her and her families traits. That ''rabbit'' gene seems to follow you for a lifetime once it is displayed. Then you add the similarity to family and association with same, a tight rein on the bit is a sensible decision.

Unlike her brother every time she has left the country she has returned so your point is invalid

If and when she is convicted of a crime and looking at jail time like her Brother, that could alter her choice of whether to return or not(if she was allowed out of the Country). Are you a Shin lover, anti Government or just a general Troller ???

  13. LOL, it would be interesting to know who these guys (Elmar Brok and Werner Langen) are and what it was exactly that convinced them to write such a letter, just for the sake of having a conversation about a far away country.

The smell of bs here is so pungent, if we just close our eyes we'll think we're in the middle of a Texas ranch.

Or in a Dubai Camel Yard

  14. Whey the Thai judicial system does bad things to miss Yingluck it just makes them look like bullies

Sorry for that but that's how the international community. Will see it. Just an underhanded way to get at her brother..

can you plase explain how you are an expert on Internaional Community thinking ??? Underhanded by observing the Law.....get real !!
