OP - Are you a girl from Isaan?

Just asking...

So, putting numbers to make it easier to compare with Thailand, How much would one expect to spend in Singapore, to live the same lifestyle of a ~70k baht/month in Thailand (BKK)? I would assume at least twice as much?

I had a look at the long term accom. thread but there was nothing about Phangan, so here we go:

I need a room for 5 weeks from early Feb/09 to mid March/09 -- at haad rin beach or somethere in that area (10-15min walk from the beach is fine).

A/C would be good as would a small fridge (I know those are hard to get!), nothing too fancy but clean.

How much can I expect to pay for a day/month? Should I just try bargaining with the local hotels/G.H or is there a place for long term rentals there? Would ~15k THB be enough?

As many here, I´m also trying to get some of my funds from Paypal into THB the cheapest and easiest way possible.

I´ve seen Western Union signs here in BKK, and I don´t think it would be too hard to transfer some of my money, to myself in cash. I´ve read many reports on ebay scammers or even thai girls who get paid by their Farang sponsors by just sending them a number and she will get the money once they pay (or the opposite!). Can I pay myself?

Has anyone done that?Any inputs?
