I have lived on Koh Samui for nearly 20 years,18 years as A bar owner.When I first came to Samui it was truely a Paradise Island and you could walk through Chawang "Beach Road " admiring the beauty of the sand and sea,unfortunately this scene has long gone and visitors are made aware of this on their first arrival, as the coconuts are being replaced by concrete.

Money and greed came to Samui at an alarming rate and nothing can stop it. I have long campaigned for the preservation of the land and wildlife but it has fell on deaf ears as money lines pockets.

I have written many articals for local papers regarding this, and was suprised at the amount of support that I got,however this was only from the TRUE lovers of Samui, the complaints came from the developers who care not for the Island as their only concern is to rape it of it's beauty,and when nothing is left will move on taking their money with them.
