I'm planning something similar - taking my girlfriend (we've been in a genuine relationship of about 8 months) back when my one year contract is up in August. My problem is that the apartment is leased in my name, we don't have a joint bank account, insurance etc but we can provide stat decs or equivilent from friends and family that we live together. We've been planning to go the tourist visa way and get married in NZ - would getting married here and applying for the 2 year multi work entry visa make more sense?

any advice would be appreciated.

I took a girlfriend to Mae Sai, she had no passport but just filled in a form at immigration and went into Burma with me for some border shopping. Would assume Mae Sot the same.

I'm doing (another) border run to Mae Sot this weekend. The Burma authorities allow you to stay in Myawaddy for the day. My Thai girlfriend who doesn't have a passport would like to come and spend the day in Burma also. Does anyone know if this is possible?
