My visa had expired in April. I would extend in January, but they told me I should come back in February.
Means 2 months is ok.

If you get a new passeport and has to transfer visa stamps from the old passeport to the new one, is their any time limit to do that?

Is it possible to make such a reporting by postal service or on line? (Chiangmai Immigration in this case)
Thanks

Does Pattaya immigration accept 90 days reporting by postal service?

What do you mean by 'the lady who took a photo'? I got my third retirement extension (which I assume is what you're talking about, not a visa) last December, and nobody has ever taken a photo.
The photo is taken from the lady's computer webcam; probably you haven't realized.

Yesterday I took my number at 12.45 o'clock for a retirement visa. They started working at 1 pm and 5 minutes later I was back in my car.
About 1,5 minutes with the first officer, then 1 minute with the lady who took a photo and another 2 minutes with the supervisor. No questions asked, no proof of residence asked.
In Bangkok you will receive the passeport immediatly back, but in Pattaya you have to collect one day later. But no need to stand in line, because you get a "ready to collect card" from the supervisor in charge. Really good experience, like always at Pattaya immigration. WCA

Does Pattaya have the postal option for the 90 days reporting?

I was led to believe that immigration instituted the 3 month window to put the kabosh on falangs who were topping their accounts up with borrowed money a few days before getting their visa and repaying their borrowed money the next day (I knew of a few folks who were doing that).
Yes, exactly. Some of the immigration lawyers borrow the money to their clients; they are quite happy about this ruling, because they earn more interests.

You may get away with that for a while with the police check's but if you have a accident then you are not covered by the Thai insurance & the police will look more closely at your License.
Its not that difficult to get a Thai driving License so Why take the chance it may cost you dearly.

I am driving in Thailand since 20 1/2 years with a IDL. I had to 2 bad accidents during this time. But never had a problem with the police or my insurance company.

There is a new Airport bus service from Jomtien. The brandnew office is just opposite the PANPAN Italien restaurant at Thappraya road. There also leave the buses. First bus at 8 am. Afterwards every 2 hours. Buses seem to be very new. Price 126 Baht.

As UJ said you should only need passport and TM47. Jontiem for some reason want proof of address.
Last month I did my 90 days reporting in Pattaya. They didn't ask for any proof of address.

The Swiss Franc will fluctuate between 29.80 (low range) and 31 (high range).

I know also people who 'invent" their addresses, so they can report where they want.

When I moved from Bkk to Pattaya last month, I filled up the form 28 (change of address) and presented this form at Pattaya immigration. They asked me: "What form is this? - No need - come back to us for the 90 days reporting". In the meantime I just did this. If you live in Pattaya, you waste your time with the form 28 reporting.

Visiting last week Pattaya Immigration for the 90 days reporting, I have to say that the service has improved since the last 3 months. . After only 10 minutes I was done. It seems also that more officers (ladies) are working now.

Yes, my neighbour did; he is on a retirement 1 year extension. He simply put the Bangkok address of a Thai friend in his application. No questions asked. (He don't like to apply in Pattaya).

My good friend went Monday for the renewal of his" marriage visa " at Jomtien and he was told to get 400.000 Thb + 40.000 Thb monthly,("Law changed in January Sir") He does not have the 400.000 Thb, but the officer was "so kind" to propose him to borrow him the 400.000 Thb for a consideration of 28.000 Thb.
Which he accepted or No Visa
28,000 Baht? Why he simply walked out of and came back a day later with a lawyer? Doesn't cost him 28,000 Baht. But I even doubt that in this case a lawyer would be necessary.

Is a 9 months old income confirmation letter from the Embassy (original) still acceptable for the Immigration? Was issued AFTER I got my last extension of stay.

YOU SAID;
When you move from one address to another you use form TM.28 to inform the information office for the area of your new address.
Well, I have tried to submit the TM 28 at Pattaya immigration. The friendly officer in charge told me "no need to submit TM 28, simply come back for the 90 days registration". (Changed address from Bkk to Pattaya)

I don't think it's any kind of achievement or something special to get a retirement visa; I only like to share my (very good) experience from this week.
I arrived at Suan Plu at 12.30 (during lunch break). My number was called at 13.40. I left Suan Plu at 13.57 with my visa.
Great service, lovely staff.
I changed from a Marriage to a Retirement extension. My wife didn't have to accept this change with her signature, but I had to sign a form.
I presented the following documents:
TM 7 with picture (same picture I use for the last few years!)
Copy of passeport
Letter from embasssy, confirming income, (Cost Baht 1400)
Letter from the bank, (Cost Baht 200)
(Together total income: Around 1 Mio)
Copy of the entire saving book
If money is not an issue, than Retirement extension is obviously the way to go.

Quote:I own a condo here. Does anyone knows how long it will take to get a loan from the bank for a foreigner, holding real estate here?
This option you can forget. Not possible. (Bangkok Bank in Singapore could perhaps help, but this will take time.)

Asking for the confirmation letter of my savings account, the branch manager asked me how I want the letter to be issued. (content)
It's the first time I need the letter; can somebody enlighten.
Thanks

Change Tourist Visa To Non-O In Thailand
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
When you travel to Thailand with a Tourist visa and have proof of the necessary 800,000 Baht income for a retirement visa, is it true that you can change the tourist visa to a Non-O and same time apply for the retirement visa.
