Can "อย่ามัวแต่" mean not to do something that will be a waste of time or not bear any fruit? E.g. เขาไม่อยากคุยกับเธอ อย่ามัวเสียเวลาไปหาเขาซิ

Thanks fo the reply, Lithobid. I was worried as their website shows they do not have two adjacent courses starting at the same time and the requirement that the minimum number of students be met before they start.

Hi Lithobid, is there a set of minimum criteria to meet (e.g. degree) before I can take this course? Btw, I have some basic knowledge on Thai. If the ajahns level test me and find me suitable for another level, do I have to wait a month or two for the next class to start? Thanks.

A friend mentioned that ชัก-แม่น้ำ-ทั้ง-ห้า means to give many reasons for justifying our actions and said it came from a Buddhist literature.
Does น้ำ-นิ่ง-ไหล-ลึก have a negative connotation?
Thank you.

I bought A Dictionary of English Collocations with Thai Translations a couple of years back. It is an interesting dictionary that provides meanings, phrases and examples which are quite commonly used. However my Thai is not good and I have no idea if the translations are properly done. Has anyone come across this dictionary?

In English, we have phrasal verbs such as look into, make up and stand out. Does Thai language have a similar category of words as well?

An excellent thread, Lithobid. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing, Lithobid. Can you provide more details about this course i.e. fees, regularity of the course?

I will be coming to over in the next few weeks/months and need to know Piammitr's timetable.
Do new courses start every week or do they start monthly?
If they are monthly, are they at the beginning of the month?
Don't want to come and find myself kicking my heels waiting weeks for a new course to start.
Thanks in advance.
Their schedule can be found at http://www.piammitrschool.com/images/schedule%202008_PLS.pdf.

How is the course so far, kriswillems?

The book is interesting but I would not recommend it to beginners. There are too many inappropriate words and if they are used unwisely, could lead to a loss of face and life.
