Phuket has launched the Phuket Crime Free scheme, an initiative aimed at safeguarding international tourists during the peak season.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Monday, bringing together both governmental and private sector entities. Among those involved are the provincial administration, provincial police, tourism police, immigration office, and provincial land department office.
Private sector representatives include the Phuket Chamber of Commerce, Phuket Tourist Association, Phuket Real Estate Association, and the southern chapter of the Thai Hotels Association.
Superintendent of Phuket Immigration Police, Thanet Sukchai, highlighted the pressing need for such a scheme, stating that the high season typically sees the arrival of more than 200,000 visitors every month, reported Bangkok Post. A surge of such magnitude raises concerns around crime rates and illicit activities, particularly drug-related offences.

Any disclosuresnabout exactly What they will start or do already?

Thai government has to open their eyes. In many poorer countries China tries to extend her influence. In several cases they "buy" influence by financing bigger projects like infrastructure, opening factories, etc. The CEO's are Chinese, so decisions are given out of hands.

Now there are so much other and cleaner options for Thailand. Thailand's amount of sun-hours is perfect for clean solarcells nation wide, which also can be used for production of hydrogen. It is maybe a little more expensive, but better a little more expensive and clean environment than a cheaper and dirty environment. Nuclear power produces a sustainable and dangerous waste polution. An ever growing bad inheritance for future generations.

What is the moral standard of Thailand to be proud of hosting a summit where a proven war criminal attends the meeting?
Again the wrong choice by declaring to be so called "neutral"....

Where the civilized world would not invite a proven war criminal and mass murderer, Thailand is proud to host this summit and has no problem with ethically objectionable events. Where Thailand could be a great honorable nation by withdrawing Putin's invitation, it is now showing itself as the crawling cockroach others look down on and may even crush it.

If you want more tourists now the ticket prices are sky high due to the energy crisis, don't make other things more expensive. Tourists search the internet and calculate the total costs of their holiday. So closer destinations with lower ticket prices will win the race.

That's one right step in the right direction. Traveled all over the world, to modern countries too?
The more undeveloped and distrust the more paperwork has to be filled in at arrival and even sometimes at departure. Same for the visa's and residence permit. My Thai wife got her first residence permit for 5 years, the second for 10 years, which would still be valid now, but she has already obtained the Dutch citizenship. No reporting at any department during the 5 or 10 years permit.

One of the problems to know the exact rules is that the websites of the local embassies are also unclear regarding the current rules. And as their normal behavior they send you home to provide the current requirements, regardless of the distance you have to travel.

The position of the Thai government to be neutral is like a message: "Thailand does't care about the enormous suffering of the attacked people of Ukraine. We go on as if nothing has happened. We only think about our income from the Russian tourists". I consider this as a cowardly and greedy behavior. Imagine that Thailand was hit by a powerful nation and was bombed and tanks shooting around and no one would realy condemn or do anything to the agressor. How would Thai people feel then?

Thailand will not condemn any country, no matter horror actions or severe violation of human rights, as long as it will cost money. Genocide, human rights or ethics, Thai government only thinks about money. This behavior doesn't come from being an undeveloped third world country, no it's a greedy fifth or sixth world country with a government of primates.

Putin attacked Ukraine with the nonsense reason that He felt unsafe. Who wants to attack Russia??? This was only a cheap and childish make up to try to extend his territory, likewise he did that with Crimea.
If Thailand is a decent nation, it should condemn this low hearted attack at an innocent nation and join the worldwide strong rejection of this ruthless attack and join the boycot. Even Russian citizens are horrified by Putin's actions. Many thousants of Russian citizens protested in more then 25 cities all over Russia.
"Noblesse oblige... ", but sees Thailand itself as a nobel nation?

Most tourists have to pay more than 2000 Baht already for a visa in their own country. If the Thai government will only focus at the richer tourists the small tourism businesses will slowly extinct. Tourism business will only thrive by large numbers, not by the elite only.

Only the ones who don't know the daily reality in LOS.
I lived there for almost 10 years. After some years several disadvantages anoyed me more and more: Not being treated equally and often being seen as a money provider. Not the same rights as other citizens. Greedy attitude by many professionals as medical, business and others. Low educated and corrupt police officers. Unbelievable stupid behavior by van drivers and risky unpredictable chaotic traffic. Dangerous garbage everywhere and no one cares about it. And everything that needs to be well organised is a mess.
And this is only the shortlist...

Let's not forget Thailands best mate is China.
Does China have influence in Thailand? Yes
Does China like democracy? Nope
Mr. Xi started dressing like Mao. Notice anyone else who wears the same shirt?
Actually China's financial imperialism is a threat to not only Asia, Africa and the poor eastern Europe countries are already "invaded" by huge Chinese companies which influence local government decissions...

A "leader" with too much self interest and willing to conduct severe corruption should not be the "savior" of this vunerable nation. So many quality actions have to be taken by the Thai government. Only a true and wise people and country loving person and a progressive similar cabinet can bring Thailand forward as a modern quality state. In my view is Thaksin not that kind of statesman.

The European Union states are planning to issue a "corona-passport" to everyone who has been fully vaccinated. Would this corona-passport be sufficient to enter Thailand without mandatory quarantaine?

"The spacecraft will travel at 11 kilometres per hour to the moon".... (average 384,000 Kms) Will arrive in almost 4 years. Hopefully can increase the speed on the way back and doesn't burn after entering earth atmosphere... So over 16 years we will know.

Due to "Thai wisdom" the thought never comes up to check in countries with a very low rate of traffic accidents how the traffic rules and licensing is regulated.....

The civil registration is very poor in Thailand. Remember the over crowded busses leaving Bangkok to all directions in Thailand. There has to be a much larger number of infections which are likely not registered. The normal rate of spreading the virus is 1:3. So this number should be rapidly increase exponentially. So beware of a later outcome of much higher risks than it seems to be now....

Since Thailand is attracting the Chinese to come in as many numbers possible. We, western tourists have to come sooner or later to the crowded airport to go home and maybe bring the Thai airport virus, acquired from the attracted Chinese, home with us... Because, as in so many cases, the Thai government does nothing, just wait and see what happens...

Committing suicide with a bag over your head is virtually impossible. your enormous need for air forces you to open the bag. Only under special circumstances, for example comatose drunkenness or stupor due to poisoning, should you not open the bag. The coroner must give a definitive answer on this.
