  1. You only get 5 yr. renewal when 1 yr. is expired. Do it day after exp. date.

I was specifically told to go 2 months before mine expires or I will not be eligible for a 5 year license......

So many conflicting replies / experiences but TIT lol

The main question was answered and that's whether or not i need another letter of residency or not, I'll just take all my documents and see what happens at the Nong Jok DLT.

    If i get a year, i get a year, if i get 5 then I’m a happier bunny :D

  2. Well i'm about to buy my 7th set of Rosso ll tyres from showpow, granted no changes would be made to this batch and to be honest i highly doubt any changes will be made to their current models.
Perhaps there will be a few new tyres developed for the budget rider

  3. Even if it is illegal it's far safer to ride out of the left most lane.
Just keep some tea money tucked away incase you have no option but to stop for kamikaze police officers.
I always find that acknowledging them, showing intent to pull over with an indicator then blasting away once the officer has walked to the curb works well (providing you license plate is obscured in it's location or with a cheeky left boot ;)
Of course this is risky, but it's worked for me for 6 years and I only refuse to stop in areas I don't regularly visit, I stop for all local road blocks and they wave me through after checking all the documents on board either bike

  4. With all the rain we have had recently it's worth giving all charging system cables a clean and a bit of grease.
Your bike does have a regulator / rectifier. mine is under the headstock on my 2012 ninja 650, if it's faulty it could very well give you satisfactory results at home when testing the charging system's voltage but once the 'R/R warms up, gets wet or it takes a knock it might start playing up again but you wouldn't know this until the bike's battery gets low again (hours later)

  5. Secondhand USDs sell for around 15,000 - 25,000 from anything such as a ZX636R/ZX10R CBR600RR/Fireblade etc etc.
Please noticed that the price is most likely for the forks only, add on calipers, discs, wheels and the triple clamp and any machining that might need to be done to get it all to fit.
Also don't forget to purchase the matching brake lever / master cylinder, as the last thing you want to do is cock up it's ratio.

    Karl :)

P.S. I priced up a front end swap just out of interest for my 650, all in it turned out to be 40k.

  6. Z250

    Beautiful!!!!

Yeah the guy who modded it has a good eye.

Nice wheels, brakes, tail section etc. & the SS Swingarm looks clean too.

I have seen & heard that Zard exhaust system up close here in CM on a few bike.

Not sure if it is the real Italian brand one

    But looks & sounds good.

The only thing I am not sure about it is that it has very few rivets

holding the core into the end of the main can.

On this model there is actually visible gaps in some parts or the circumference

But overall that z250 is very nicely done

Just been chatting to the guy on facebook, turns out there's actually a company selling an 'off the shelf kit' to do the rear end swap.

  7. Breathing all that filth into your lungs by riding a motor bike around Bangkok must be a major health hazard equivalent to about 40 cigarettes a day.

Tell that to the Thai's that smoke while doing so :D

Bikes are a lot more exciting than smoking a fag...... Oppps I mean Cigarette

  8. Running rough is minor as my friends has to turn his diavel off as the temp light comes on at lights.

Don't most big bikes get hot at lights in a tropical country? My fans kick in at 104 degrees. Best to turn off the engine at prolonged sets of lights. Nothing unusual there, especially with a twin.

Especially for and 'air-cooled' twin :)

  9. Commuting on my Ninja 650 is a breeze, I often leave PCXs and smaller scooters behind, Forzas don't stand a chance biggrin.png

Switching to a geared bike is fairly straight forward, given that you practice on a closed road and get comfortable before trying to do so in rush hour traffic.

0-60km/h of the line you will have a very difficult time keeping up with a Forza 300.tongue.png

If i didn't know how to launch a geared bike, I’m sure I would have troubles ;)

  10. Maybe i'll wait a year for them to knock 20% off of the Z800 biggrin.png

Is 20% the amount they discounted the ninja after the first year?

I wasn't aware of any such discount.

The price went up when the 2012 model was introduced, other than the tax increase on all big bikes that's the only change in price for the current 650 range so far

  11. Maybe i'll wait a year for them to knock 20% off of the Z800 biggrin.png

In a year there may be something better too wink.png

You're right, I'm sure bigger and better things will follow.

I might just save and wait for something special, not that the Z800 at 375k isn't....... I just want to buy a bike i yearn for, not one that's simply just available. :)
