  1. I would have thought a knowledge of other beliefs would be benificial to a child. Keeping them away from other beliefs is essentially forcing them to follow what you the parents believe in. I can only assume that later in life you child will not be encouraged to make up their own mind in this respect. Is there an inherent fear in you to want to isolate your child from the world?

Isn't that what parenting is about......we know best. When a child becomes of an age when they are capable of making their own minds up, they will make their own mind up........until then, let the parents decide what's best for their children and you worry about yours. Where the hell did you get isolate from........moron.

I suggest you look up the various definitions of the word "isolate" assuming of course you can read. It is obvious you have no idea of the context the word is used in. When you get educated lets have

I can read and the context in which you used the word has only one meaning.....the be cut off from everyone and everything else. In case you have trouble reading I will capitalize for you...MORON

  3. I'm not aware of the trainings emergency services personnel in Thailand have to go through in order to be certified.

I know that in countries like UK, France and others, these personnel have to be qualified for the job.

Since you seem to know a lot about these services in Thailand could you please share your knowledge?

Oh sorry for the confusion, let me spell it out for you, they are utterly pathetic and I'd be worried if any of my loved ones needed their help in an emergency.

Most are untrained. Watching them pick somebody up off the road is frightening. They just grab arms and legs and hike them into the back of a pick-up truck or van. no thought for spinal injuries or internal bleeding. Often those who are rescued also find their wallets lighter when they get to their destination. It is a racket run much like to tow truck rackets in the west. We see them roaring down major roads in Bangkok, sirens blaring in a hurry to rescue their next victim and, ironically, almost creating more accidents because of their haste.

Says who? I'd love to see your evidence, and justification, for your promulgation of this urban myth.

You're obviously overlooking the general use of backboards by the rescue services. As for the lighter wallets bit, you think that the rescue services do all this thieving with all the witnesses that always congregate at the scene of these incidents? They travel rapidly using sirens precisely because they are en route to emergency situations, what would you like to see them do, sit in traffic and take their time?

As for their "almost creating more accidents", an accident either happens or it doesn't. An "almost" accident doesn't exist, that would be a non accident.

Says me......it's urban myth in your mind. People are often picked up and thrown into the back of pick up trucks. And yes, they often sit in traffic and yes, I've seen a ambulance stopped to allow way for a coach full of tourist.

  4. tragic... I'm very sorry

this is not a time for 'holier than thou' statements but for compassion

Perhaps you could enlighten me. I have not seen a lack of compassion in any post......just mentioning things that people take for granted on holiday that causes such horrors. I wish him well. Now have a thought for all the people that get injured or killed by people riding bikes for the first time.........where should compassion go then? The bike rider or the 3 young children he's just killed....and yes, I have seen it.

  5. As a Christian you are may or may not be aware that during Jesus' undocumented years from 14 - 29 years old he spent his time in Kashmir discovering the teachings of the Buddha. That is why, when he returned home, his teachings bore a remarkable resemblance to Buddhist teachings and little or no connection to the Judaism he grew up with. Although there will be a lot of superstition taught in Thai classrooms just think of the connection between the Buddha and Jesus. It might make you more comfortable.

Don't know whether Jesus went to Kashmir, stormed the euro tunnel, or even if he even existed...but think it funny you are inferring that Thai superstition is over the top to a Christian whose whole faith is founded on a ghost....555555555

He didn't infer that. Only your small minded outlook on religion saw something that wasn't there.....perhaps you think you are a greater power by taking the piss out of others beliefs. 555555 means laughter.....nothing funny about you or what you have to say.

  7. Depending or where you are, there are many Christian schools located throughout the country. I'm agnostic but do believe in your right to practice what you believe, unlike many of the posters on here. If you want to be criticized then you've come to the right place.......full of ignorant, beer swelling, bar banging <deleted> who know more about raising your children than you do. Just google and you shall receive.

  8. Thanks to everyone for their replies, they've been most helpful. I will be meeting a lawyer today with regards to sole custody. When that is completed I will go to the British Embassy.Although I have the money for both my concern was the finances for staying in Thailand. Yesterday I received a phone call offering me a teaching job . For the first time in months there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you, 7by7,and for everyone's help with this matter. It's been deeply appreciated.

  9. If everyone in this forum can tell me about their latest accident then i might be concerned. When was the last time anyone had a crash? *deafaning silence*

Sent from my GT-I9100 using Thaivisa Connect App

Saw two dead chaps in the road not long ago. No fault of their own. Wrong place. Wrong time. Witnessed an accident to an ederly lady last week. Doing about 20 when a bike with a sidecar decided to vear left without indicating. But they don"t count because it wasn't you.I"ve read some <deleted> over the years and God knows I"ve written a fair bit. What"s the Thai slogan? To Be No 1. You just made it to the top of the list.

  11. I remember the distain with which was bestowned upon me when I annouced I was a tefl Teacher. I have the upmost respect for teachers because it"s something they have chosen as a proffesion. I, on the other hand chosen it as a way of staying in Thailand with my daughter. For the first two years it was the usual, FALANG. Then a parent then spoke to me, the children really love you.Three years down the line the director says the teachers really like you. This is not ment to be derogatory to teachers but what you learn about teaching doesn"t always applie in Thailand. I can have a class of 50 silent in 10 seconds without saying a word. I can have a class of 50, actually that:s a lie. 40 attentive in 10 seconds and keep it that way for nearly an hour. Someone did ask me why I was so succesful as a teacher? Because I love children. And I actually do. It"s not what you are taught that makes you a good teacher. It:s what you bring to the table. I learnt over the years that it's not about how you want to teach but how the children want to be taught. Imagination can bring the most delightful effects. Scott, justwanttoteach and Peaceblondy [ rest in peace ] you have my upmost respect.
