  1. I have this problem now about 3 months.

My last payment with TOT eService was on the 21. August 2011.

So I have to go with my invoices to the seven/eleven or a bank.

When can TOT solve the trouble with the eService-website?

    Has anybody news or informations?

  2. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit is absolut right!

The Drugs are still a problem on Koh Phangan.

On Koh Phangan many tourists take the Drug-Problem not serious .

Many of them still smoke Gansha every day.

The police is doing nothing here.

The violence in the traffic too. High speed and overtaking is a standard here!

Many people are afraid to walk across the road. Even in the villages and in Thongsala.

  3. THAILAND WILL NOT BE A MEMBER IN THE UN UNITED NATIONS !

NOT WITH THIS KIND OF IMMIGRATION LAW HERE IN THAILAND !

    Here a very good example:

A man from Germany fallen in love with a Thai woman 20 years ago. He married her in Thailand and than he go with her to Germany to have a good life.

His wife never had to make a Visa-Run or a report at the German Immigration-office. 11 years nice time in Germany ! She got an unlimited VISA for Europe !

4 years ago this couple come to make a life in Thailand !

Now the German husband have to make every 3 month a VISA-RUN !

Even he want help her to support the parents of his beloved wife. The Immigration-Law not allow him to stay with his wife in a same way like in Europe .

The other way would to deposit the money he have in Germany on a Thai bank-account . 400,000.00 THB !

Even he can effort to stay in Thailand he has to bring his money to Thailand on a Thai bank-account !

Even he is able to take off his money on his Geman Bank-account at a ATM here in Thailand !

This Immigrant is not the only person with this problem !

For the United Nations this Immigration-Law is against Human Rights and Freedom .

This also shows how greedy the Thai Government is.

Sure not MP Abisith Vejjajiva ! He see the problem too and he has a big job to change the laws in this nice country !

The immigration laws are not that different from laws in other countries.

Regarding extensions of stay for persons married to a Thai national there are indeed some problems with international treaties. But that is not the subject of this thread. Please stay on topic.

That means that you not understand the connection to the topic !

Your comment: "The immigration laws are not that different from laws in other countries." :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:

Read and understand what I wrote!

  4. Re: Thai Banks to start charging for ATM withdrawals ...

Today in the evening on Koh Phangan at 19:08 I took off two times 20,000 THB without a fee at the ATM of Bank of Ayudhya.

I have a VISA-Card from the German bank Deutsche Kreditbank AG (DKB). They guarantee their customers to take of money for free worldwide. But two days ago I got charged each with 150 THB at the ATM of the Krung Thai Bank and the Siam City Bank. After I read this topic I went to Bank of Ayudhya only and I'm happy that I still not pay any fee there. I hope it stays like that.

I send a note to the DKB to clear if they will give me back that fee money and waiting for the answer in the moment.

  5. This happened to me a couple of days ago, and it has just occurred again.

If I tried clicking on anything in Thaivisa for the last hour or so, my browser was re-directed here.

    http://deny.totiig.net/

And that then doesn't go anywhere.

    I'm on TOT DSL.

    Any ideas?

I have the same problem in the moment and it means nothing else than that TOT International Internet Gateway (www.totiig.net) is blocking the website for some unknown reason. I was trying to go into my database on a german webhosting server and now it's not possible anymore. Very strange!

  6. My friend just got a Police Officer (Captain) who was interested to buy his 2 million Benz SL. Must be a very profitable job to be a Policeman.

well a police officer a the local police box in Chewang ( Koh Samui ) drives a BMW 7 series ! ........

I see them everyweek collecting money for helmets outside the box, and they must take in a far amount of money

On Koh Phangan it's the same. It's quite normal that police put the fines they charge in their own pockets. Nothing new. And than they go collecting every month the money from all the illegal shops and parties. Also some extra good money from farang who have a little gansha or some pills in their pockets. A police officer here don't have to worry about a little income. :o

  7. i would say both immersion (long haired dictionary?) and lessons are the ideal way to approach learning thai, but you have to ask yourself before you set out what kind of thai do you want coming out of your mouth and approach learning accordingly.

your thai, like your appearance will be an indicator to other thais of who you are, social class etc. if you speak a low thai, you will be thought to be low as well.

that is not to say to dump your girl freind for a society girl, but find a good teacher who can give you a solid base, and while practicing with southerners, northerners etc remember your objective. No thais will fault you for speaking politely and in central, but you will certainly get some unfavourable reactions if you find out that the thai your girlfriend taught you is actually Suay.

    ts

Good words. It's right to learn as you said. Passa Klang, like they speak in Bangkok and around, everybody understand in Thailand. Thai TV is only in Passa Klang. And to speak polite is very important too if you want people respect you. Jom from Mind Your Language really cares about that. He know bad and low class words and he let you know about this words, but he insist that you don't use them in public. Only for fun with very close friends.

    Thanks for the lessons Jom!

    Cheers

  8. I have just read the comment on the Thai school mind your language and i felt I just had to add my comment

I have been coming to samui for nine years and i have tried many different ways of learning the language, through books, cd's and via the internet. Last year i decided that i would take lessons and took two courses with Khun Jom and really enjoyed his approach to teaching.

The lessons were fun, education ,constructive and most of all interesting.

I did have a very small vocabulary of Thai when i started but realised very quickly that what I was saying was rarely in the correct tone. That was corrected quickly and over the next few weeks my unerstanding and knolwedge of Thai grew and my confidence and vocab came on leaps and bounds.

I would definetly recommend the school.

100 % agreed on this. I had the same experience with Jom. He is a great man in his job. He really enjoy teaching. You can feel it. Absolutely professional! I can't understand why some people give a negative comment about his school. I knew everybody who learned with me enjoyed learning with Jom and really come forward. Sanuk mak mak!

    Cheers

  10. Hello,

Im vaguely thinking of returning to Thailand early next year but i want to improve my Thai ability. Therefore im thinking of spending the first three months on an intensive language course. However I dont fancy Bangkok - most information i found in the archives concerns Bangkok or Pattaya. I'm completely flexible where i go for the three months - would prefer some where like Chaing Mai or one of the Issan citys. Can anyone recommend anywhere that is decent value?

    regards..

I would recommend you to go to Koh Samui and go to Chaweng Beach. There is a Thai language school where I learned.

The name is Mind Your Language.

The Teacher, Jom, (in front middle, dark t-shirt) with the is really a good one with about 10 years of experience.

    Best Regards

    Addi :o
