Great place to visit, Thailand. Plenty of people I know also who are spending a great retirement or end of their working days there. But unfortunately you also get these stories. The laws forbidding foreign ownership of land are a necessity but can lead to misplaced trust and loss of all assets. And the previous posts where it has been mentioned how did he spend 5m THB in 2 years. Yes, how did he? Even A whole year renting a pretty good room in Pattaya and having sex every night and expensive meals and plenty of drinks couldn't come to more than 250000 THB.
usually I just read the forum here and don´t reply but this really gets me
clearly you haven´t been to LOfakeS yet, 250.000 a year??? at least half of it would be gone for a somewhat decent room, almost all of it would cost you "expensive meals" (whatever that means) for a year, drinks might be even more and don´t get me started on the sex thing.... 250k is not even near the # of cash you need if you want to take a girl every night for one year unless of course you´re shagging the House maid LOL
10 million in 2 years seems not really that much if you consider the house, car and whatever else the lovely thai family wants and he might have been stupid enough to pay for everything they demanded... at least he´s not dumping the kid though
this story should be printed along with the comments, laminated and handed out to every farrang arriving in Thailand

i guess there will be a flood of "innocent Thai women" coming into the appropriate areas to pick up their next husband before the Law takes effect otherwise the building boom in Isan goes down the hill

an exit fee will only be charged if you don´t stay in cambodia at least 2 nights as far as i know ;-)

i should do the 90 days notification on 23 of April, can it be discovered then, because when i did it in December, there was no problem either or shall i try to leave through the airport before this day?
Would it be the same kind of trouble if they find out at immigration or ariport or should i avoid one or the other?

so what is the solution ? How can i clean up this mess ? Any advices ???

i am on an Non Imm. B, Extension of stay till August 2008, i quit the related job in oktober 2007 and gave back the WP and never gave a thought about this again (my bad)
But in January i went to Immigration for a Re entry permit and got it without any problems and left the country through BKK airport and came back 2 weeks later on the same Visa with the re entry permit and no problem at all
so according to what i've read here i should have had a lot of problems???
