Pattaya needs a real tough person in charge and not to wait for gangs to do something, go after them with a vengeance. Wont happen I agree but it does nothing for Thailand's reputation in the eyes of the world.

I tell people don't under any circumstances visit Pattaya it is a cesspit of humanity and only suitable for the depraved

Yet you post on the Pattaya forum?

I thought it was about Pattaya? Can you really say Pattaya is a place you would recommend anyone to visit? I lived for 8 years on the outskirts and every day the news carried stories of robberies, violence and gang activities. You can believe it is fairyland if you want but many people I know are or have left the place as it is becoming too violent.

If you think Pattaya is dangerous for us (Westerners, tourist$) never go to any of the European capitals. In 23 year in Pattaya I hardly had any problem. Most people here are friendly. I still recommend Pattaya to my friends and none of them had a bad experience. If they take the warning not to take beach girls to the room at heart..

  2. You do work while in Thailand (with your laptop) and don't pay tax in Thailand. This is illegal.

The late 20st and 21st century are very hard for Thailand. All those modern things that educate and will change society here. To hard for politicians and law makers.

He's not working in thailand as the actual work happend in Malasia. It is not illegal, but you might say it is a grey area.

Anyway my point was that there is a missing Visa in Thailand, the equivalent of the "Exceptional Ability" Visa in the USA.

People who are successful in business, or have done something out of the ordinary should be able to come here to bring their brain and experience in this country (their money too).

But something that is not only based on old retired falang or people who are running a local business.

Do you feel that you would qualify for a USA National Interest Waiver?

I have stayed 4 years in Miami under a O-1 visa so I guess and can answer yes!

Specialist visas are available but the ones who are complaining aren't doing anything that a Thai can't do.

You know thai can do everything, just ask them. they won't disappoint you. the answer will be yes I can :)

  4. Every time I'm surprised that Thai visa seem to have all the fine and law abiding high standing foreigners. Exactly the kind Thailand so deeply longing for. Come on guys. they are young, Don't tell me you never did anything abroad when you were traveling? I know I did. Working for your money isn't so bad. let's not forget a lot of Thai are happy with us. The state schools come in mind, asking us if we want to teach English And of course they say it will never be a problem.

Have to say that I'm lucky to have a visa. But when I was a lot younger I wouldn't have bothered for other than a tourist visa. simply to do with the fact that I never knew where I would end up.
