Thailand is killing it's middle class, the ultra rich families who's businesses are little or not affected will pick up the pieces for almost nothing in a few months. Great idea of the government to ask them for advice on how to run this covid19 situation...

Not only cars are ridiculously expensive in Thailand, beer, meat, vegetables, education, etc, etc.
It's about time that people wake up about the way that they are extorted by companies selling products at multiple times the reasonable prices.
Life sucks in Europe, for the price of a Captiva we had to settle for a meager Mercedes Benz ????
A can of Chang beer in Lidl in Europe costs the same as in BigC in Thailand.
CP sells sausages at up to 5 times the price of A-brand sausages in Europe, and they own every step from the pig's food to the 7-Eleven or Makro where they sell them and pay minimum wages in Thailand. They are laughing themselves sick over the profits that they make.

I did it last year, flew out in the 30 days under consideration with a single re-entry and got back within the 30 day period, no problem.

Just get in a hotel nearby so you can join or leave when you're up to it.
Nobody ever asked me to sleep on the floor with them or drink until late night.
Mutual respect that we both have our ways of life and can always have enjoyable moments together.

They are just selling more water at higher prices!
-
Use a money changer, there are people who need similar amounts in the other direction and they balance supply and demand.

The 100,000 sounds like the right amount, my wife got the same and when we sold the car last month after 4 years in stead of 5 she had to pay the 100,000 Baht back.
One of the drawbacks of the first car promotion and it will hit hard of you had the car repoed because you couldn't keep up with the finance.

On my trips to Europe I'm now called a supermarket tourist by my kids. I'm enjoying the low prices of quality food and drinks, looking forward to another trip soon!

It's the general laziness and lack of courtesy that prevails here.

The "under consideration" is about 1/3 of a page, the 1 year "extension of stay" is a bit more than half a page and the "re-entry" fits on the same page using just less than half a page.
You can go out and in Thailand 4 times on 1 page if you are lucky and they stamp orderly. Some people make light pencil lines in their passports to help them stamp economically.
Some countries have business passports that have double pages, my NL passport has 66 pages, lasts me about 3 years.

I got many things in easy for years via post, but in recent months I seem to have caught attention and have to pay tax on every parcel.
It can also be that the rules or enforcement of them has been tightened recently.
For bigger things I now buy it in my home country have it delivered there and take it here on my next trip, many things are way cheaper anyway in western countries than in Thailand by now.

It the officer on duty considers is work you are in trouble

We regularly get other peoples mail, including credit card statements and packages, even if the address is written right and even when the whole address is written in Thai.
So I presume we will also be missing out on some mail addressed to us, but how to know if you didn't send it yourself?
If it's a little bit difficult the postman just drops it somewhere and comes back with an empty bag, problem solved and who's ever gonna hold him responsible?

If you clean the house there is no problem, I'm spoiled, my wife does it

If you want BKK as a hub to travel to other Asian countries, you may want to check the rates compared to KL and Singapore. I'm flying a lot in Asia and Oz and it's often attractive to fly to KL or Singapore first and do the trip from there. Singapore is not cheap to stay, but KL is very similar to BKK with cheaper beer and a better variety of street and foodcourt food.

It's better to stop eating their crap anyway!

I'm traveling in and out about 3 times a month via 3 different airports and have never seen a laptop inspected other than in the x-ray luggage checks.
-
I don't see the problem there are plenty of swapshops here, return the wife and get a new one.

Technically you are working in Thailand.
To avoid discussion I would go for the 400,000 Baht in the bank route if you have it.
-
Unless your extension of stay is based on marriage with a Thai national in that case your extension will remain valid, but the workpermit will be void.

The police won't help you and a lawyer would cost you more than you lost.
Take you loss, a lesson learned and move on.
Almost 700 asymptomatic patients admitted to field hospitals for observation
in Thailand News

"asymptomatic patients" is a contradiction in terms, someone who tested positive on the presence of a virus in his body without symptoms is a healthy person with in general an immune system that has been effective in coping with the virus and not getting sick. This looks more like 700 healthy people have been taken in custody.
