  1. Veitnam and Korea caused by our dear friends in France who called us to clean up their colionial mess in both cases it was a police action not started by us. If you had taken care of your own problems in world I and II we would continue to be the peaceful un-paranoid country we once were. As far as the problems in the Middle East today... yep you bet ya, the French colonized them too and ticked the Arabs off at the Western world in general. If you want to sling insults look in the mirror first.

    Vietnam.

    That is all.

  2. Martin Luther King was murdered, the Vietnam war protests did nothing but make the poor country boys that were drafted look bad and, Gandhi well he wan't as nobel as you think.

Very few revolutions have been won by talking, actually I do not know of a peaceful demonstration in history that has had a good out come.
Read the news! The red shirts STILL refuse to negotiate! All of this blood is on the hands of the red shirt leaders. Now they have another chance to stop this by following the LAW and talking. Yet they refuse.

    Peaceful demonstrations making a difference?

There have been many. You should read history. Your statement reflects a shocking ignorance.

    Some examples --

Martin Luther King, I had a dream. Now we have President Obama

Vietnam war protests (no intent to start a civil war like the reds) pressured the US out of Vietnam

    Ukraine Orange revolution

    Gandhi's protests

  3. Yes indeed, I couldn't have said it better with a staff of writers!

Not for nothingn I can take a good bashing too but not from people we had to bail out on more than one occaision. I admit the sins of our fathers and I believe the truth will set you free but I'm not one to sit down when bitch slaped by a citizen of a country my Grand Father and Father had to liberate. Maybe it's just my New York attitude.
Being an American, I actually enjoy a good American bashing thread from time to time. It is good to read all of the AD HOMINEM arguments from non Americans. Thanks for the laugh! :)

I agree with you, but is it really worth countering someones pathetic argument? I find it funny that our cousins from accross the pond feel that they are "experts" on American policy, yet they refuse to look at their own country's worldly mishaps and play the blame game.

  4. Au contraer my fellow American, I believe we support the "Red Mob" which is why we asked for a peaceful solution because they are not as well armed. The UDD have moxie as we once did in the face of oppression and truth be told the current government is a military government that took this country by force in the coup de tat, once free elcetions were held the "red shirts" were victorious but the new prime minister was ousted because he had a cooking show on TV, what a load of crap!

Thais care what America thinks. The statement is actually a spanking statement against the reds in veiled diplomatic speech. It asks that the differences be NEGOTIATED. Abhisit went on tv two times offering the beginnings of a negotiation position, which if the reds were negotiating in good faith SHOULD have been countered with a realistic counter offer. Instead they didn't budge from their original, outrageous, firm demands. Then the "negotiations" were off because it became clear the reds for whatever reasons (most likely orders from Thaksin) were never open to negotiating in the first place. if the reds have been seriously open to negotiations, a compromise deal could have and most likely would have been struck by TALKING.

  6. Look let's be civil during this time. I didn't say it the police officer said it and if the members of Thai Visa are going to be jerks about it I won't waste my time.

I just returned from Chiang Mai city hall and all was quiet, the police have taken off their riot gear and set it on the front steps. I talked to a member of UDD and he told me the police were "tomato shirts" meaning they just want to be on the winning side. He also told me that the main UDD group would be returning at 15:00 today. I spoke to a woman from UDD and she said her husband was one of the police on the steps and the police kept coming over to the UDD members and let them know what was going on. My wife asked one of the police if they would shoot the protesters and he said "no, absolutely not under and circumstance".

    not under any circumstances".

    What are you drinking? :)

  7. We are also the ones who armed Osama Bin Laden but that's for another web site. Yes, the majority of military equipment is from the USA here is a list of the latest including F/A-18C/D Hornet fighter/strike jets

Here are American soldiers training Thai soldiers with nonlethal weapons.

The truth sucks but I prefer it to lies.

  9. You are working illegally and you are an illegal alien as you have broken the terms of your visa exemption or visa. It would like telling a police officer the prostitute stole your cocaine at the under ground casino.

    Good Luck

  10. From what I understand on the red TV they are broadcasting on the web they have their own army (UDD) and are calling for more soldiers to abandon their stations and join with them. I'm not saying this as fact this is what was said so don't abuse me if it is incorrect I'm just repeating it. There was also a mention of civil war. I'm not sure who checks on the facts for this site but I hope they do.

  11. fletchsmile, I missed the joke? The requirements are what I was personally required to do for my credit cards and what I was told for a home loan. I don't understand why you have to be an ass, I didn't make anything up nor did I say anything unreal or stupid, instead of being a complete moron why don't you just ask what bank and where you can get the information? What I have stated is on the counter at Krung Thai bank which is where I got my visa and master card. If you have a question or don't understand something just ask, if you don't have anything constructive to say just keep your mouth shout it makes you look like a jerk when you don't. And I didn't edit anything you did.

robbie22 I'm pretty sure you can't get a loan and I don't think you can get a credit card unless you make a secured deposit on it but I'm not sure. If you got to Krung Thai bank they seem to have the easiest standards, I think the minimum monthly income was 15,000 THB, I had to show and provide copies of my passport, work permit and 3 years of tax documents from city hall as well as my Thai tax ID card.

  12. Yes you can get a credit card and yes you can get a bank loan. For a credit card you must have the monthly income requirement, a visa and work permit that have been consecutively active for 3 years and the same employer for 3 consecutive years. As far as the bank loans go in most cases for a house you need 50% down and it also depends on your age the older you are the more down money you need, I am also assuming you are putting a Thai national on the deed as the owner of the land. A car lone requires 20% down on the average Japanese car or truck and all of the above qualifications.

  13. The current foreign minister of Thailand was the head of the yellow mob that shut down the airport. I also find it amazing how quickly they caught the man who thew shit on the prime minsters house but of the 100 bombs that went off over the last month they haven't caught anyone nor do they have any suspects, I guess that just goes to show who is planting them and I hope I don't have to spell it out.

  14. And we Americans were the thugs when we dumped the tea in the harbor, wrote a (The) Deceleration of Independence and forced The British Empire from our shores. I'm not Thai and I'm not siding with anyone as it's not really my concern or business I am simply stating the facts not my opinions as I really don't have an opinion other than these people want an uncorrupted election, freedom and democracy something as an American I can relate to.
