  1. I will start in 2 or 3 weeks. Just went to check it out today on class they offer, it pretty cool so I signed up.

    Some tips on powerhouse :

    - if you go monthly membership, you could get 10% discount

    - If you time 10 or 20 times voucher, ask them to expand the valid date 1 month more. They did mine.

  2. Hi there,

I am glad you like my favorite 303! It was really yummy indeed. Surely nothing beat the Italian ice-cream next door for a dessert.

I will be in CM for a couple days next week. I wont miss TONG for sure. Join me if you like :)

Now the puff mushroom is in season. Its also quite interesting, in term of texture.

    Enjoy Chiangmai :)

  3. I forgot to mention that my first 5 times happened in Amsterdam while I was studying there ( 2 years).

Three last times happened in my neighborhood Soi Ari in Bangkok. The last one was the Japanese housewife kinda bike which I parked near the market.

I had 3 locks on that bike, and I went to buy some veggie for 30 min maybe. By the time I came back it was gone.

Another time was that I parked my bike, then went in to order coffee, by the time i got a coffee it was gone.

Now I kept all my 7 bikes in my condo. I dont even park it downstair. I am just too scared of anyone take my bike again!

    almost like a phobia now...

sorry it was just from my bad experience, perhaps i am over-react !

  4. I love cycling!

I have sent my hybrid bike here last week and sending my road bike next month. I really look forward to riding my bikes here too.

I just discovered a cycling cafe in nimman, cant remember the soi. It s called Kafe roubaix. The owners ( 2 Thai guys) are pretty nice.

You can lock your bike there safely. You even get a discount if you come on your bike I think.

by the way, what happened to chiangmai night rider in meet up? I joined the group awhile ago as someone here recommended by no more friday night ride event anymore?

Any other active group I can join?

  5. To me , Ristret8 is still the same. Perhaps I am not here in Chiangmai enough to spot the difference. I come to Chiangmai twice a month and stay for a couple days, either take my morning one at Ristret8 or Impresso near my hotel.

Arte House , try the frappe one. Enjoy :)

  6. From my point of view as an independent woman, long distance relationship could be very hard.

I dated someone for 3 years . My love one had to move to South Africa for work. I couldnt convince the long distance would work.

I couldnt take off with him either coz it happened while my dream career, which i tried to pursue for 8 years had just started taking off.

To give up my life as independent to depend on a man , even for awhile, I just coundnt see myself doing it.

Perhaps I am just too comfortable where I am and had enough of moving overseas.

    ............

Do you see yourself being with her for very long time? Is she willing to relocate? Are you willing to relocate and take a new challenge as you are in love with someone? That sort of questions you need to think and discuss. In the meantime, Skype, FaceTime, visit, make her feels that you are longing to see her and spend time with her again.

    Good luck na :)

  7. Thanks everyone for your input.

Its surely a paid lesson I am looking for.

I study Architecture and Cultural Heritage. The program is a jointed program with University of Hawaii.

I need to booth up my skill for research writing and so on.

Someone just PM me that he has Ph.D in English and his school is near wat among.

Perhaps I will go to talk to him next trip I am in CM. smile.pngsmile.png

  8. Thank you very much for your input Mapguy!

Yeah. I know it might be a real challenge to find one but I will check with British Council or AUA as you suggest when I am in town again next time.

Perhaps they could recommend some name for private tutor.

I got all the guidelines, MLA and also Chicago Manual of Style. I just lack of practice writing it!

I thought having a class would help keeping me in line.

My writing at school in USA was pretty ok but somehow as I dont use it as often anymore, the good skill seem to be vanished.

That how I meant by brush up. Sorry i wasnt clear.

    Thanks again :)

  9. Hello there,

I need to brush up my English for academic purpose for my Ph.D research.

There are plenty of Language school in CM, but I wonder if there any good one?!!

It will be a writing class that I need. Any name of teacher/ school would be really appreciated !!

    Thank you.

P.S. I looked around at Language forum but it seem no one really answer anything there, so I m trying here.

  10. i like puukao on "If CM is your destiny, then so be it."

    Yeah!!!

If you could sell your Nyc apartment, probably you dont NEED to work much here.

Working here doesnt pay as much anyway.

Keep your positive spirit up, move here and see how the life would unfold.

Chiang Mai is pretty cool city. Lot of creative people move here.

A lot of my friends moved here, and I am thinking to move here too later this year.

Surely I will be interested in your drawing workshop/hangout.

In fact, I will host you the first one in my friend 's coffee house here if you like.

Good luck and make it happens!
