I did it 5 years ago by making a booking (on BA I think) LON - PAR it was a 24 hour option which cost £5. I printed the confirmation out and attached it to the BKK-LHR ticket printout. I let the option expire.
We actually used the Eurostar in the end.

When we did it 2 years ago it took 6 months. The delay was blamed on the Ukraine crisis. So hopefully it will be shorter now.

I resent having to pay the NHS fee. My wife is working full time in the UK and paying National Insurance. To me it seems that we're are paying twice for using the legal route.

I have read on some Thai lawyer's websites that Holographic wills are legal in Thailand. But naturally they don't recommend them. In this case lawyer's stationary is not required and the will must be completely written by hand.

I renewed my 5 year license in February and was told foreigners have to make an appointment in person, bring your passport and get there before 9 as appointments are limited. When you come back you must have a qr code proving you watched the video.

I used the translator in the MFA which was just as well as a miniscule error was spotted, so it was easy to take it back to the translator to correct. Also they were cheaper than outside quotes I received.

A lot more sophisticated now than a few years ago when it was just a number written on the back of a cigarette box.

This isn't entirely correct. Here is my experience which may help others in a similar scenario, I suspect it may also help with some other Thai Banking apps.
Thanks to Covid-19, the wife & I haven't been in Thailand for over two years.
1. Letter was sent to in-laws re: the merger & new bank account details.
2. Photos of letter iMessaged to me here in the UK.
3. Wife assisted with translation as it was all in Thai. Letter confirms merger & provides new bank account details & the steps you need to take.
4. Downloaded TTB app on to my iPhone.
5. Opened the app & followed the steps to set it up. It gives you the option of activation code or, debit/credit card.
6. It asks you to disconnect Wi-Fi & use mobile data for verification.
7. This is where you need a workaround. I use a dual SIM iPhone so, I turned off Wi-Fi & connected to mobile data via my primary UK eSIM. This doesn't work & the process will continuously fail.
8. Workaround (it costs money). I subscribed to a 15 day data roaming package (961.93 Baht inc VAT) on my DTAC secondary SIM. I then enabled data roaming on secondary & switched my mobile data to secondary.
9. I was then able to repeat the process successfully, followed the subsequent steps (needed my Thanachart ATM card as part of the verification process) & the app was soon up & running.
Obviously, once we get back to Thailand, I'll still need to visit a TTB branch to obtain a TTB bank book etc.
On a side note, the merger actually worked out well for me as previously, whilst swapping out my DTAC SIM for a Korean one, I'd managed to lock myself out of the Thanachart app (I could still access my account via internet banking), which would have required a visit to a Thanachart Branch/ATM to reset.
Thanks for that info. I finally managed to set up my bank apps outside of Thailand.

After reading my policy I stopped using motorbike taxis as none of them seem to provide a passenger helmet anymore.

Will they have to wear seat belts.

I can use my Bangkok bank online in the UK, however they won't allow me to transfer THB to the UK. I had to use an ATM.

I was told by a BKK Bank manager that if there have been more than 30 entries since the last update then entries will be consolidated.

My UK wise card was used twice in the US. Fortunately the transactions were declined because the card had expired. Needless to say I decided not to renew it. I notified Wise but they didn't seem interested.

Thanks for the information. I hadn't thought about the other tests we have to take at the DLT. Do you know if a medical certificate is required to renew a five year license rather than a two year license? Thanks again for any further information you can povide.
A medical certificate is required for renewing a 5 year license at the Pattaya Land Transport Office. I got mine from a clinic where the only requirement was to know my weight and height and have 100 baht. There were only two tests at the LTO, braking and knowing the colours of the traffic lights. That was three weeks ago so things could have changed.

I went to the MFA 3 weeks ago for the same reason. The Thai fiance doesnt have to be there but it actually helped in my case (for a change). I needed my passport and affirmation verified which cost 400THB each. I was advised to use a translator in the MFA because if there is an error its easier to go back to them to get it corrected. There was an error so we were able to get it rectified easily. The translation cost was also 400 THB per page. We were also advised by the Translator that its best to collect the document in person than have it posted because of the time wasted if there is an error.
I don't know where you are based, but my local Amphur in Pattaya told me that a branch of the MFA had just opened there and we hadn't needed to go to Bangkok. Too Late...

I just successfully renewed my license yesterday. I had the same problem with the website, but someone suggested I use www.dltelearning.com (no hyphen) instead which shows the video (with subtitles) and questions in English. You have to register first by choosing the Foreigner option.
I got a QR code which I had to print out and take to the DLT. To be honest I don't think they even looked at it. Anyway it worked for me at the Pattaya office.

Strange. And this month was the first time my transfer from Wise arrived at 1403 the same day! Normally its the following day.
I will be interested to know, when the OP's money eventually arrives, if it still shows as a foreign transaction.

In our case last June. My partner was given 90 days, mind you it had taken 6 months for the decision.

We thought it was a good idea to deposit my late Thai wife's will at the Banglamung Amphur. I had a hell of a job getting them to release it. Even my lawyer couldn't get it, we had to get a court order.
Took a long time but it all got resolved in the end.

I find Pattaya Optical in Klang are very good and do not pressure you into buying glasses.

There used to be an official iPhone repair shop directly above Powerbuy in Central Festival. Its a while since I've been there so I don't know if it still exists.

That's strange , because I sent funds directly to my myself from my SCB account in my name to my UK bank in my exact same name.
That's what I wanted to hear. So I think I will give it a try. Thanks.
