DNA proves he is not the rapist so his word that he was beaten into confessing is good enough for me unless the police have a video of his alleged confession.
When I first moved to Thailand I thought it was their Buddhist culture that made them confess so easily it didn't take long to find out the real reason.

They know the Reds will be coming, and when the time arrives, this law won't stop them.
This law is to stop reds, yellows, blue, greens and pinks from holding the country to ransom. I think this is a good move from the military again.

Is this the police officer with a 350 million baht share holding in a newspaper on a policeman's salary?
I think I'll believe the special branch officer as he is going to look stupid if he is lying and I assume he has good evidence before making allegations against the top police officer.

I would like to see it go further stoped at check point
No driving licence car impounded
No insurance car impounded
Not road worthy car impounded
car or motorbike only returned when all legal requirements are met.
They would need a bloody big impound yard.

But the main question still hovers around.... WHO got and where did the billions go... Name and shame them...
For a billion or two I could put up with a bit of shame. Prosecute them, jail them and strip them of there assets would be better and the right thing to do.

Last week they were complaining that Thailand would need over 3 million new workers over the next 2 years now they want to ban some people from entering the country because of their age. Karaoke bars are full of young Laos girls but nothing is done about this. Just banning all teenagers will not stop human trafficking but I suppose they will tell the international community see we are doing something about the problem.

elected governments have a democratic mandate to deliver their policies. And, if their policies do go awry, their only punishment should be a "political" one
Not if their policy was a corrupt scheme to enrich themselves then they should face the full weight of the law.

Thais, who say they are “poorly behaved” and insensitive to local customs.
We can all be insensitive to local customs if we do not know what they are but everyone should know how to behave.

Lets see how the TVF barstool warriors turn this topic into a Thailand bashing thread
First post on this thread is an insult to anyone who condemns a country that allows child pornography to be openly sold on the streets on Bangkok. I wonder why.
Just because someone likes to drink in a bar does not mean your post is in anyway more valid than theirs.

IMO The taxi driver should have used his meter and the farang could have just given the rest as a tip.

Just like any visa can be bought here blacklisting can be cleared for a fee of course.

Notice to the Government.
The more you are chasing after her the more you are creating a false hero under the eyes of her supporters.
Let her go, let her disappear into oblivion, she is not worth anything, worrying about.
She has stolen or allowed to be stolen billions of baht and you think she should be allowed to get away with it. What sort of example does that set for the next PM? She should think herself lucky she will not get the same sentence as a Chinese court would give her.
Of course, shouldn't it be the case that these charges of the supposed fake b to b be proven first?
Of course you are right these charges should be proven first but to think that it is nothing more than a formality is a little naive given that it is known worldwide that corruption is a way of life for many (if not all) politicians here.
And I hope on her first appearance the court remand her without bail because she is a serious flight risk.

If i had a large sum of money acquired illegally I'd be off to a country with no extradition treaty.
