I am an American and I am moving back to Wilmington NC., USA

And I need information about shipping about 20 boxes

by boat. The boxes are mostly clothes & bed linens, no furniture.

If anyone has information about shipping companies here in Bangkok

that can do this for me PLEASE give me their shipping information.

I will be shipping these boxes around the middle of July.

One other question. How long does it take to get a Thai tourist visa at the Thai Embassy in Yangon?

I am an American doing a visa run to Myanmar from Bangkok. I'll be flying and I was wondering if I can get a Myanmar visa at the airport in Yangon? I'll be there a few days to get a Thai tourist visa for my return to Bangkok.

What I've done with the Tourist Visas the last year or two is to go to Laos and get a double entry tourist visa...which is good for 3 months, then go to immigration and get an extension for 1 month...then go to Cambodia and get a tourist visa which is good for 2 months...altogether this covers 6 months.

Please let me thank you for your help Mr Titanium....I really appreciate it. I am only going to be here in Thailand for about 6 months before I go back to the states. So this would be a real problem for me because a single entry tourist visa would only give me 3 months.

I am American. I went to Cambodia the last visa run I did about 6 months ago.

I will be doing a visa run to Laos in a few weeks to get a double entry tourist visa. And I have been told that The Thai Embassy might limit me to getting a single entry because I've had several double entry tourist visas already.

Is this true?

I would appreciate some information about teaching in Thailand. I am an American and I am currently teaching in China. I have been teaching at an American University Branch Campus and I am now finishing the semester and looking at teaching in Thailand.

The University where I am teaching is an international school. We have students from 13 countries. This is my 5th year teaching here in China and I am seeking a change.

I have a B.S. degree in Marketing/Advertising and a M.Ed degree in college teaching (Post Secondary). I have taught EFL, Marketing and Management. I retired in 1995 with 20 years of corporate experience in Marketing and Management. I was born, raised and educated in the United States.

Several months ago I went on a vacation in Thailand and liked it very much. So I have decided to seek a teaching position there. I would like to start teaching this fall semester if possible. Consequently, I would like to ask for any information about schools where I might find a teaching position.

I appreciate you thoughtfulness to my request. I would like to have any information on colleges or universities where I might apply to teach this fall if that is possible. I was hoping to start teaching in September; however, I am not sure when the fall semester starts in Thailand. As you know from my post, I am retired. I decided in 2004 to come to China and teach, not for a career move but for my pleasure and desire to help in my own small way, improve the understanding between east and west.

I have really enjoyed teaching. I enjoy the students. And yes, I am aware that there are many who are lazy and unmotivated but I've found in every group of students that there are some who work hard and desire to get a good education. These are the students that keep me in Asia.

I prefer to teach in a university and if possible, I would like to teach EFL rather than marketing or management.

Any universities that you know of that might be looking for teachers I would appreciate it if you would let me know.

A tourist visa is good for 60 days and can be extended for another 30 days in Thailand

I am trying to find out what kind of Visa I should get if I am coming to Thailand to search for a teaching position. I am an American. I am currrently in China where I have been teaching for the last five years. After visiting Thailand a few months ago, I have decided that I would like to to come to Thailand and teach. So I am wondering what kind of Visa I should get. If I come on a Tourist Visa it is good for only 30 days and it might take me longer than that to find a suitable teaching position.

Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
