Went to Bangkok Bank Branch, they handed out (after four days processing period) the statement of my account, covering last 12 months (I am on 800k THB), 200THB. Had my passbook updated and received a copy therof in the bank. Asked the employee whether or not I need more documents - No, his reply.
Straight forward to Immigration office, arrived at 10:20am, about 15 Asians and four Westerners waiting in and outside. Handed over all my documents, only to learn 5 minutes later, another bank statement, guaranteeing the passbook entries is also needed. Went to another Bangkok Bank Branch close by, waited 20 Minutes, got the document, paid 100THB, returned to Immigration at 11am.
Handed over these documents:
Passport and a set of copies of all pages
2 Bangkok Bank Statements, no copies
Passbook and copy
Family Book and copy
2 Fotographs
TM6 Form
ID Card copy of my wife
I also requested a Multiple Re-Entry Stamp.
At 11:15am I was called to a counter, signed a lot of papers, being astonished how fast the officer used many different stamps, a foto was taken, my wife had to sign some documents, I paid 1.900THB for extension, 3.800THB for ME-Re - Entry. Altogether 5.700THB. At 11:45 am I received my passport, checked the stamps, had to go to the 90-days counter, got a sticker into the passport and left Immigration around 11:55am.
So this was a nice experience. The immigration officers did a good job, were polite and helpful.
For many years before I applied annually for a 1-year ME Non-Immi-O-Visa in Savannaketh/Laos, never had a problem. Getting older, the way I did it yesterday, seems to be more comfortable. But I miss cozy Savannaketh, where we used to stay a couple of days and exploring the surroundings.
