  1. Interestingly it was a Conservative government that raised the VAT rate to 20% - it had been 17.5% under the previous Labour government
  2. The following is not related to the US but is related to Amazon i have found ordering electronic goods from Amazon UK and delivering to Thailand can be cheaper than delivering the same item to the U.K. uk VAT is 20% so once that is removed Thai VAT at 7% plus duty can come out cheaper
  3. If you have a Pink Card linked to your yellow house book I believe that can be used in lieu of a TIN, but you’d need to confirm that
  4. You need to stop with all this talk of food that is not the Fish & Chips mentioned by the OP lest he remonstrate with you for not being precisely on topic 😉
  5. I would argue that *refurbished* is the keyword in your title and I was giving you an, arguably, better option than refurbished so that you get a bang for your buck As to the where then each of the three big malls in Chiang Mai has an official Apple retailer
  6. I would second what has been said previously about considering a base model of the M4 Mac mini if you want to upgrade from an M1 Mac Mini (2020) to a newer Mac model for better performance I believe you will be hard pressed to get a better deal for example upgrading to an M2 Mac Mini from an M1 Mac Mini won’t give you a big bump in performance
  7. Thanks for the info guys Our architect was saying we don’t need an inverter ac as the solar system has an inverter but I had a feeling that was him not knowing what the inverter did for the ac 😉
  8. We are getting a new air con fitted in a room that is attached to our solar system. Is it better to get an inverter air con or a non inverter air con?
  9. I use the following set up for watching soccer on my TV from the True app on my phone Plug my Apple TV into my TV with a 1 meter HDMI cable (could be shorter depending on where the HDMI ports are on your TV) Change my iPhone settings so that the display never locks (switch this back after you’ve finished to secure you phone and save battery when you are out and about), then plug my iPhone into its charger to keep the battery topped up. Finally use AirPlay on my phone so that the display is mirrored on my tv via the Apple TV Any solution you have will be limited by your internet connection and the WiFi signal in your home. If you have good internet but poor WiFi then you’ll need a laptop or pc that you can attach to your router via an Ethernet cable If you have poor internet but a good mobile phone signal then you could consider getting an internet router that runs off a SIM card. You’d then need to get a SIM card with a data only plan
  10. Here’s a controversial option - what about one of the new Mac minis? Starts at 20,900 thb or grab an Apple TV and a Bluetooth keyboard and AirPlay your iPhone to you tv
  11. Hi, my extension based on marriage is due to expire on 31/10/2024. Normally when I do my extension based on marriage I am given an “Under Consideration” stamp that says to return on 29th or 30th of November. Could I get a re-entry permit whilst under consideration and leave the country on 14/11/2024 and return on 21/11/2024? Thanks in advance

Raining in San Phi Suea 😉
  13. Thanks for the info folks for some reason the word Retirement escaped me earlier this morning and I could only come up with Pension as a replacement 😉
  14. I’m thinking of switching my extension from being based on marriage to being based on pension but I’m not sure if I’ve left it too late for this year. My current extension runs until 31/10/2024 but I’d like to do the extension on 15/10/2024 just in case there are any issues. If I increase the money in my savings account to 800,000 before 15/07/2024 will that be in time? Thanks in advance
