  1. Thank you for all the useful information Sorry for not being clearer with my original question When I do a TM30 via the TM30 website I print off the notification and keep it with my passport. The notification contains my current passport number. My question should have been do I need to do a new TM30 when I receive my new passport so that the notification that I keep with my passport has my new passport number on it. I believe @DrJack54 has addressed by saying that CM immigration (my local immigration office) can be funny about the TM30 and that it is better to do a new one
  2. I’m about to renew my passport- will I need to do a new TM30 when I get my new passport? Thanks in advance
  3. Dumb question incoming Can you get small paint tester pots in Thailand? My local Home Pro only mixes paint to order and the smallest quantity they make is way more than I need to put 3 or 4 test patches on the walls Thanks in advance
  4. Thank you 🙂 this is why I like this site, people are friendly and helpful 🙂
  5. Did you watch it on the Play box? If so where did you find the option to change it to English?
  6. I have 3BB and AIS Play box with Monomax subscription I’m currently watching EFL, Sou vs Wre, but it only has Thai commentary I called 3BB to ask if EPL will have English commentary but they cannot confirm and are checking with Monomax
  7. not colour blind, definitely a yellow book but it has my name and address in Thai script 😉 the U.K. passport folks will only accept a yellow book as proof of residence if the name and address details are in English
  8. thanks @novacova I’ll make sure Monday isn’t a public holiday and take a trip down in the morning 🙂 I’ll take passport, copy of passport, copy of TM-30, yellow book / copy, and a handful of 100 THB notes - hopefully that will cover all eventualities 😉
  9. Has anyone got a Residence Certificate from Chiang Mai Immigration recently? Its been over 10 years since I’ve needed one and I don’t know which floor in which building I need to go to ard the still charging for the “express” service and if so how much is it these days? Thanks in advance 🙂
  10. ah - that’s where I have an issue - my name and address are both in Thai I guess I’m heading off to Immigration for a residence certificate then
  11. Hi, has anyone used their yellow house book as their proof of address / residence when renewing their UK passport at VFS Chiang Mai? Thanks in advance
  12. Hi, my friend is a western lady, married to a Thai gent, on an extension based on marriage Sadly her husband has just passed away - what does she need to do from an Immigration perspective? thanks in advance
  13. Interestingly it was a Conservative government that raised the VAT rate to 20% - it had been 17.5% under the previous Labour government
  14. The following is not related to the US but is related to Amazon i have found ordering electronic goods from Amazon UK and delivering to Thailand can be cheaper than delivering the same item to the U.K. uk VAT is 20% so once that is removed Thai VAT at 7% plus duty can come out cheaper
  15. If you have a Pink Card linked to your yellow house book I believe that can be used in lieu of a TIN, but you’d need to confirm that
