Siam Bootery & Louis' Bootery(sp?) opposite Sukhumvit Soi 19 make leather jackets but the leather isn't as good as what you'll find in Australia. I bought the leather for a jacket in Sydney then made it at one of those shops, can't remember which one as they're pretty close to each other, can't remember the price either but was under 5,000 for the tailoring.

Yup its a hunstman spider, I don't see them here too often, probably 2 total in the 10 years I've lived in this house and one was dead in my storage room Used to see them all the time when I was in Australia though.

I remember being told you shouldn't lie on the bed with your feet at the headboard end! (Apparently something to do with dead people)
Bagwan: Unsure if I would call it a phenomena, I believe there is more than what can be perceived by the senses and there is a reasonable explanation regarding the reasons for and why; also has nothing to do with Thai wives tales.
My wife Uncle Noo can't eat chicken because he has bad knees. Go figure. When I asked my wife why she looked at me like I was an ignorant child and told me, "Eating chicken is not good for you if you have bad knees." I foolishly said, "I don't think so honey." Her reply, "You don't know everything. Ricky." She's so right. LOL
It might be something to do with the uric acid in chicken and gout, not 100% sure though!

Public library? What kind of public library?
Mainly art books I think, was in a rush to avoid afternoon traffic so I didn't look through! and yeah it's run by the BMA and some other sponsors.

I went in some time late last year, impressed by how much taller the building looks from the inside but a lot of wasted space just for that effect. As for the art installations, didn't seem to be enough as they are all set up in permanent cubicles for people to walk in. Don't know if you're a fan of contemporary art, most of the installations at the time were quite interesting but some were just plain silly, like the room with a print out of the satellite view of Bangkok from googlemaps pasted on the floor and toy cars stuck randomly on the roads. I didn't go into the main exhibit on the top floor though.
Overall nice to have one right in the middle of the city, but the design and layout of the building seems badly done. There's also a public library tucked away in the basement.

You could try Maneesilp, they have a store at MBK, just google maneesilp and their website should show up but I'd suggest you lower your volume because of the horrible music if you're going to look at their site. They take about a week to make a pair.
Orthaheel is quite good if you have something like morton's neuroma, they have 2 websites but not sure which one you can order from since I bought some insoles and shoes at a chemist for a relative when I was in Australia.

bump ^^
so does everyone that worksout in BKK go to California WoW or another big gym chain? or does someone out there actually frequent any smaller local gyms that don't actually take a chunk out of your ass per visit?
thanks in advance.
There's a gym at Ebina House hotel on Viphavadee Soi 64, it was 11,000baht/year when I asked in July. Better to call them and ask as they take a while to reply emails. Another one at Miracle Grande no idea how much though.

My way to stop smoking was to use other kinds of tobacco products like chewing tobacco and classical Swedish snuff and it took me some time to quit smoking cigs.
Other nikotin substitutes are for ex. nikotin chewing gum that releives the abstinence's of smoking.
However Swedish snuff is a bit difficult to buy here in Thailand and its a few Swedish retaurants in for ex. Pattaya that sells it and some other places like Scandinavian Church in Bangkok.
Nikotin chewing gum is available at farmacies but very expensive.
Good luck to everyone that's wants to stop whith the lung destroying cigarette smoking.
How much is snus in Bangkok and are there other places to buy it apart from the church?
thanks

Motorcycle Food Delivery Boxes
in Motorcycles in Thailand
Posted
Would anyone happen to know a local retailer/manufacturer that sells those food delivery boxes attached to motorcycles, which Pizza Co. uses? Won't be needing the plugin heating etc. just some insulation for hot/cold food. Trying to find one that is as cube shaped as theirs.
My other choice would be the backpack Maccas uses, as the delivery guy said it's more comfortable than having a hard box in the back. But would like to get either of them customised.
