You need a pcr test to get on a plane so why do you need a further test when you arrive in Thailand? Especially if you are fully covid vaccinated. Its OTT.

Most airlines require a pcr test to fly. But the pcr test on arrival seems over the top?

The tourists won't be piling into Thailand if they have to spend 14 days in quarantine in what the Telegraph newspaper described as the most complicated country in the world to enter!

Bit stupid; why don't they just make it country wide rather than all these conditions?

If they change the land laws it will give the Chinese something else to invest in than dodgy over priced real estate in China... Open the flood gates; I am sure the Thais are aware of this.

These articles always stir up peoples emotions. If you are not a citizen then you are at the will of the government, and if the government makes it hard to become a citizen then don't put down roots? There are lots of interesting places to live in the world and maybe its interesting trying them in retirement when you are sitting on your retirement pot (rather than giving it away to governments for half promise visa's allowing longer stays but not offering the elusive citizenship)?

I would be surprised if the UK removes Thailand from the red list after having just put Thailand on the red list. Its more likely that Thailand will remain on the red list for some time. Dubai remained on the red list for 7 months (UAE) and those middle eastern countries have plenty of money to spend on vaccines. I was surprised that Thailand went on the red list but maybe they don't want Brits coming to Thailand on holiday, getting covid, and then returning with a new varient?

Need to copy Italy. Fully vaxxed arrivals don't need to quarantine. While there is this over the top COE and ASQ requirement no one will come. Also Thailand needs to get their population vaxxed so covid becomes a inconvenient flu rather than life threatening.

Hum, will all those Indians waiting to visit Thailand be prepared for the 15 days ASQ stay (plus the cost of this)? The biggest blocker to Thailand tourism recovering is this ASQ requirement. They should follow Italy: fully vaccinated tourists don't need to stay quarantine and just need a pcr test.
