Maybe they could paint a picture of Mohamed on it and the insurgents will think its their god flying to Mecca!
So, if I were an insurgent, I would look up in the sky and say "Oh, the blimp is over there, so let's go this way."This really, really isn't rocket science is it?

That only leaves 4869531 phone boxes left on Sukhumvit road
Beckers, 64, confessed that he entered Thailand on October 5 last year and was financially broke after he met a Thai woman in Pattaya...Glad to see that the ladies of Pattaya are doing their part to help the ailing Thai economy...by seeing to it that Thailand's foreign currency reserves are growing

NOT HAPPY JAN NOT HAPPY!

I guess one thing that frustrates me is that as a westerner living in Bangkok the ease in which Bangkok can be beautified(improved) is so minimal.
From a western and Thai point of view (I would think) foot paths or sidewalks need minimal repair at times though unfortunately due to the lack of resources ( or care or priority not sure which one) slowly disintegrate into a major job that never get fixed.
Further more would love to figure out (though I dont speak a lot of Thai) how to get these things done properly the first time instead of having to revisit them 12 months later to do the same thing.
Dont want to fix the country just the footpaths
Cheers

When the PAD supporters want to go on holiday I plan to gather as many farangs and blockade all airports in Bangkok.I wonder how long I would last? 2 weeks or 2 minutes? Whilst I previously had some time for the PAD view to do this was STUPID ,it is not achieving there objectives ,people are losing focus on what the are about, all people now see is the economy suffering, job loses ,international reputation as a peaceful country. If this gets violent and is plastered all over CNN and BBC it will cripple the country and then you could have Micky mouse running the country and it would not make one bit of change.
Just another farang trying to get home for Xmas

So Mr John did you get an answer?
Yes no maybe,a friend(9 of them actually have been planning a golf weekend from overseas down in Pattaya) arriving on Friday and I was sent an email asking me the same question. No disrespect meant by asking this!
There is an ugly rumour that all bars will be closed this weekend for three days. Can anyone confirm this?

Aint love grand!

So what is the answer, put both your hats on and don't be pro this or pro that, think logically what the best solution to this mess ?
Thailand is a great country that needs a long term stable solution.
Good luck

Your embassy shouldn't care why you are here and make any problem. You might even be able to get the school to give you a letter stating that you have enrolled in classes and you need a new passport to get a visa. -
Thanks Urbonjoe and sjack.
Yeah the school is worried that immiagration will need 12 months on the passport. The issue with calling the indo emassy is that the legality of me being here in BKK.
I am a tourist at the moment .
Do you think I should advise them that I am here and wanting to study, though immigration needs me to have a passport with at least 12 months validity to be granted an ED Visa?
K
I don't know what kind of visa the school is setting up for you it may be immigration that want a full year on your passport to issue a visa. The way read I your post it that you only think that your embassy/consulate will tell you to go back for the passport. A visit or a phone call to them should settle that issue. Just tell them why you need to renew your passport.
If it was really stolen/lost they would give you new passport. If it takes time to get the new passport they would give you some form of temporary traval document.
Many countries now have it set up that the embassy/conulate does not produce the passport it has to done in the home country. You fill out the paperwork pay the money and you wait for the new passport to arrive.

Hi all any thoughts on this. I have an Indonesian passport and have only 8 months left on it. Wanting to get an ED Visa as I want to study Thai, though the school seems to think I need to renew my passport before I get the ED Visa. My problem is that technically I am on a 30 tourist visa and would image that my embassy will tell me to go back to Indo to renew which is not an option. Any thoughts?
What would happen if it was stolen?
Thanks

Expat Scot Mugged In Thailand Losing Fight For Life
in Thailand News

Yeah My wife was mugged walking home from work on Soi 20(Sukhumvit) ,luckily she was only knocked to the ground and dragged for a brief moment though she lost her belongings and more importantly her love for the country.Sounds silly I know but it pretty frightening being pulled backwards along the ground by a thug on a motorbike!
Made out a Police report but the lack of interest shown was discusting by the police officer at the station
Hope this lady make a speedy recovery.
