this measure is entirely predictable, as are the outraged responses here....

Give it to the Chinese and t will be ready in 2023
no need to give it to the chinese - it'll be theirs anyway - where else is thailand going to get finance for a project like that?

i'd bet my next salary he's in thailand.

So, he's going to do "his best"? We've all seen what "his best" is, so I don't hold out much hope for this initiative....

what a flipping simpleton....

wishful talking.....

this is yet another example of how inept and out of touch with reality the TAT people are ..... you'd think given the importance of tourism to the thai economy, they'd appoint people to positions of importance in organisation based on experience, knowledge and merit, but apparently not.

Do Interpol have any jurisdiction in Thailand, because that is almost definitely where he is.

Ok, so why hasn't Yingluck and Thaksin been brought back yet?
Different sort of crime. Red Bull Boy actually killed someone. The Shinawats were accused of "crimes" by their enemies - and many of these accusers know that if they were subjected to any kind of scrutiny, they would readily be exposed as actual criminals themselves. There's also no international pressure to repatriate them to face trial - the international community would probably side with the Shins, as they were at least democratically elected. Besides, the junta don't want them back anyway - they'd be far more dangerous back in thailand than they are safely stashed away abroad.

He's probably hiding in the safest country in the world where no one will ever find him.... Thailand.
This is almost certainly the truth, and it's equally likely that Prayuth knows this, making this whole announcement today even doubly embarrassing and empty.

good, the less we see and hear about these sponges, and the less relevance they have in life the better.

I bought an off the shelf SSD and stuck it into my old 17" MBP with no hassle at all.
Before doing so create a USB stick Yosemite installer - easy to do, and back everything on the existing internal onto a timemachine for restoring.
Open it up, replace old drive with new. Close and boot from the USB, install OS then restore from the timemachine.

i've got boys age 4 and 8 and we moved to the uk last december.
before moving the 8 year old was bilingual as he'd been educated at an international school in thailand since primary 1, but the little one had only had 3 months of international kindergarten and although he understood some english he was still shy or unwilling to speak it - i work offshore a lot so his exposure to it outside school was limited.
now, after 3 months in the uk at british pre-school he's not only speaking english, he speaks it with a local (Elgin, Scotland) accent! the older one is also developing an accent and is even starting to use scottish dialect (he referrred to something as "nae bad", the other day). i've also noticed that the kids now also speak 50/50 english/thai to each other when they are playing together, whereas before moving they spoke thai exclusively.
kids minds seem to be very able to absorb and learn everything - language in particular, so i wouldn't worry in the slightest - they'll be fine.

I had a screen replaced in the UK by a budget shop and this exact thing happened - had to return 3 times to get the job done right. It's a fault in the repair.

Anyone recommend an app which will allow me to view the internal file system of my iPhone 6 when I plug it into my MacBook?
I've had a go with ifunbox but it seems to depend on the phone being jailbroken to see everything and I'm not going down that road. It will allow me to see and copy photos but not other files.
Any ideas?

The problem with most of them is that they run Windows XP Home edition with free AV which they naively think keeps them secure.
If you do decide to use any of them, don't conduct any financial transactions. Even if you only use it to check email, change your login password a.s.a.p. afterwards.[/quote
I'd be careful about entering any passwords etc to access ANY websites as it wouldn't surprise me to find snooping software in these places.

Suspended sentence...banned from politics for the rest of her life...which is what the ruling party wants out of this anyway...just go away and be quiet...
Yeah go away and be quiet, you're far too popular.

I'm no fan of Yingluk, but it's laughable that the idiots in charge now are charging her with corruption and negligence. The irony is eye-watering.

For torrents I think Transmission is unbeatable. Simple, stable and very easy to set up and operate.

oilinki thanks for the post mate - worst case scenario her keyboard will look like the above, and that's liveable.
20 killed after train collides with bus in Thailand
in Thailand News

Yet another tragedy involving bus travel in Thailand. This is why I don't allow my boys to travel by bus to trips with school or scouts - they join the trip, but me or the missus drives them to the destination. Many other parents at their school who can, do the same.
