I decided to go back to Jomtien Immigration again this afternoon, armed with a Thai copy of the Royal Thai police document 35/2561, and challenge the girl at the information desk! She still wouldn't budge on the 3 months even when presented with this document. I by-passed her and went to the desk that deals with retirement extensions (7)

And there they are giving out the correct information as per the document, which is 2 months before!

Its so frustrating and pathetic that one foot doesn't bother talking to the other . . .

Cheers Joe, I was banking on that response as I topped up my funds on Aug 21st and my renewal is Oct 21st so would have been in a pickle if it had reverted to 3 months!

Hi All

Its the time to renew my Extension of stay based on Retirement. I was under the understanding that as of January 2019 and the Royal Thai police document 35/2561, that the amount of time required for the deposit of 800,000 baht prior to application is now 2 months . . . .

This morning on passing I went to the Jomtien office and asked for a list of the documents I require to renew my visa. On this list it states 3 months  . . . .

Has anybody recently renewed their extension based on retirement @ the Jomtien office, if so can you please clarify is it 2 or 3 months for the 800,000 baht before you application to renew  . . . ?

However some IO have interpreted that as 2 months before for the very first application only, thereafter 3 months before as per the old order. They are wrong in my opinion.

If in doubt and you don't know what your own IO is enforcing, take the safe route of 3 months before.

 

Naming the office you report to may help.

FYI the second photo is of the land infront of "The Park (Jomtien Beach) - Condominium" leading down to Jomtien Soi Song. I dont know how youve come to the conclusion that it doesnt look like a Condominium development, infact it doesnt realy look like anything much @ the moment - Fact: This area will be developed into the Copacabana Golf" Condominium which will be constructed after the "Copacabana Beach" Condominium a little further down Soi Song on the other side of the road towards Jomtien Beach road. Thepprasit Rd there are 2 garages on the left side as you drive up from Jomtien, or other side if driving down to Jomtien. Not sure which one it is off the back of my head but had many rugs cleaned there, its a car cleaning/valeting service  round the back of where they sell motorbikes. Best I can do but puts you in the gneral vacinity :-)

Amazon Prime is Geolocked to the UK so if you want to watch it you must have a VPN, it makes no diference at all what device you watch it on. Its the same as NETFLIX was not to long ago before it opened up here in Thailand.

Now I am a Shield user  and I dont understand your list for a one box solution. The Shield can do all of that and so much more. I have the following

Absolute rip off, thats 25,000 baht a month more than 3BB's 200/50 service. Yes its good but not that good :-)

Do a search on GOOGLE for KODI, the information is endless. Internet based TV is the way to go, and is mostly free! You can ofcourse subscribe to premium services for a fraction of the cost of TRUE services. Best thing though the worlds your oyster, anything you want to watch when you want to watch it.

I have an unit in the newly built Waters Edge condo. Demolitions have stopped now until the New Year and then will proceed, this was confirmed in a meeting with the authorities some months ago. All premisses will go at least up to the resort on the corner, I did not enquire as to what was happening from there on as it doesnt hold any intrest for me. The beach front will be developed similar to the area near the Marina situated just down the coast.

I have just arrived back in Tbilisi. I have brought back the same box as I was using at home in Thailand with all the issues. Speed here is 50mbs down, 47mbs up compared to 50mbs up, and 23mbs down in Thailand. The box works flawlessly here, no issues at all perfect streaming of 1080p in 5.1 surround sound. So this must prove that the issue is ISP related, it can't be anything else with all factors considered.

Did you look at a short subscription with RD all links here are in 5.1, brilliant if only it was like this in TH

I'm running out of time this trip. Back to Georgia on Wed. I don't use NETFLIX, never subscribed may try a free trial next time I'm home. Do you have the 3 video acceleration boxes on or off
