  1. How much does a 500 word article go for?

    And basic SEO

I'll do you 500 words for $15-20. Depending on the subject. If you are looking for cheap copy then you should bear google panda in mind.

When it comes to SEO it depends on whether or not you are looking white hat or black hat techniques.

If you need to google what I have posted on bold, you need to think again.

Why do you think there is a difference in price between white hat and black hat?

I don't see why one would cost more than the other.

I was more trying to point out that there's a lot that the OP hasn't even heard about yet

Blackhat SEO should be cheaper since the methods are more effective and more automated..But, if Google finds out you're using any black hat methods they'll wipe your website off the face of the internet!!

  2. @skate,

Your not even living here how can you judge those who do live here and have lived here for a long time.

I wonder how many people of the you cant complain and if you don't like it leave group have ever visited a forum that comments politics and news in their own country.

I did and still do and i see just as much comments there about stupid things and people complaining about this and that. But nobody tells them to go because they are natives to the country.

Just because you live somewhere and have the possibility to move does not mean you have to agree or like everything that is going on here. For me the benefits outweigh the problems by far but that does not mean i don't complain once in a while.

Corruption is widespread and crazy anyone disagreeing is not paying any attention in Thailand. Thai drivers in general are real dangerous, i doubt that anyone who really uses a bike or car here will disagree. So why cant we complain about those things.

I love the weather, the fishing, the life, the food, and many of the locals But i'm not blind to its downsides. I have only met one really sour guy he was constantly putting the Thai guys down (mind you not the girls). Everything was bad and they were all out to get him. After half an hour i got sick and told him i did not want to hear from him again. The extreme whiners should not be here. But valid complaints or grievances... why not.

Lived there for a year. Owned a restaurant that royally tanked when the world economy went for a dive back in '08.

You can ask the people around me of about my time there - not as bad as some, but still pretty dam_n rough...

Never had money to cover expenses each and every month - having to borrow from friends, family and even my thai gfs family.

gf got pregnant so I had to sell the restaurant and come home to support the whole situation from a better financial standing, and in the process brought them to Canada where they are now.

Despite probably having the most stressful experience in my life - I was deepenly saddened when I had to come home, and I wouldn't slander any Thais for my experience, which is really the point of the post here.

I think people on this thread have misinterpreted what I meant and have all seem to take it personally(or else why would you defend racism?) - this was really directed at people that come on here and seem to hate Thais and really make some fairly racist comments.

Maybe I'll look into how to delete this thread - it was a bad idea and made on a whim...

    Thanks,

    James

  3. Making money online is very hard. For most, it is a pie in the sky fantasy that will never work.

I agree and nowadays you have to compete with Indians who all seem to be IT wizzards and ready to do SEO wonders for a dollar an hour.

Just have a look at Freelancer.com, SEO expert rates are so low nowadays.

Not to argue - but this isn't correct. It takes the right knowledge and a ton of action. SEO once again is only ONE facet of the internet marketing game.

There's social media marketing, pay-per-click, pay-per-view, video marketing, article marketing... blah blah blah.

    People either...

Get caught up in either making no money in the first couple months and quit.

Get caught up in all the information on how to market online and never get out of a state of learning - suffering from information overload.

Find a method that works - run with it, put it into action and become successful with it.

I know this because for about the past year I've learned a million things that did nothing but get in the way of creating an income out of an online biz model. Once I realized this I made the proper adjustments and I'm working full-time in my home country poised to move back to Thailand sometime in the spring.

This isn't impossible to do. Just get out of your own head and get it done!!

    Good Luck To All!!

BTW.. Alot of people looking to get work done on sites like elance are often looking for people who speak english as a first language - since it can be frustrating trying to explain what you want done and it's not getting through to the person.. So, if that sounds like you - don't think you're going to be pardoned by a growing force of talented outsourcers from India!!

  4. This could be a back and forth conversation for a long, LONG time with very little explained.

You can make a LOT of money online - with internet marketing. SEO is just one facet of it all.

The best thing you can do is goto warriorforum (dot) com. Make a user name and stroll through.

They have very cheap courses if you finally decide to focus on one thing (MAKE SURE YOU ONLY FOCUS ON ONE THING!!) there is so much information out there alot of people get stuck in a state of learning rather then actually doing and don't make any money!!

You can PM me if you want to know more.

    Good luck,

    James

Actually I just sent you a PM - I work full-time as an internet marketer and I could use somebody eager to learn.

  5. We, let's see, some are here because their companies told them to come here.

Some are here because they are businessmen/women and have financial interests here.

Some are here because they teach young people a new language.

Some are here because they truly love their wives/husbands and unselfishly wish for them to be happy and near family.

Some are here because, contrary to what to you unsupportedly presume and contend are the majority, most like it here, even if they are sometimes a bit put off or dismayed by the customs.

Some are here to get away from fellows like you in their home countries and here you are stalking them.

What makes your judging them different from their judging Thais? Hmmm?

If you don't like the few who exercise their right to voice their opinion, why don't you go home? Nobdy is asking you to stay.

Wait three more years then try to post something original and intelligent.

    It was well said.

But, quite honestly.. in all of the things you've mentioned above these people are benefitting from this land be it financially, romantically or for whatever other reason.

So, shouldn't they pay this countries people and culture some respect?

You say they're running away from people like me? I post one thread questioning what fuels peoples negativity around here after reading 100s of posts from them over a 3 year span.. am I really the one that's out of line?

Sure you can say "if you don't like it then leave" but, there are some knowledgeable people on here that actually do have some insightful commentary on events that happen in this country that prove to be beneficial to read - which is the reason you'd think this forum was created in the first place.

What would you think of a population of foreigners that came to your country, operated on a forum that constantly questioned your countries people, culture and policies?? Would you not suggest to these people to simply go home?

This post isn't directed at everyone, if you're enjoying your life here - all the power to ya.

I wasn't meaning to offend anyone and re-reading the original post it was definitely a lil' over-the-top confrontational for which I apologize.

It just gets to become quite tiresome and I'm sure there are some people out there that would agree.

As for coming up with an intelligent thread in 3 years time, that'll be near impossible - every year I seem to get dumber, fatter and uglier...

  6. With all the absolute negativity on this forum towards Thailand and its culture... the real question that remains to be asked is....

    WHY ARE YOU HERE!?!?

Not only will this quench my curiousity as to why - but it may help you people re-evaluate what brought you to Thailand and whether you should even stay...

Not all Thais hate farangs - and if you believe that to be untrue - then you're one of the hated ones that are giving the rest of us a bad name over here.

So, either get happy or go home - please!! Nobody is asking you to stay!!

  7. The ignorance and stupidity here is abound isn't it?!

It's a different culture - who are you to come into THEIR country and criticize??

What about kids playing soccer - impossible for a kid to get kicked in the head in that sport aswell???

Kids should be born in padded rooms and left there until they're old and withered just so they don't get injured...

  8. I love how superior all the farangs are on here.

I am one aswell and don't pretend to be Thai. But, honestly to all the people that think that you hail from a proper democracy yourself is a laugh.

The richer the country - the more complex the web of lies are.

Thailands democracy shall remain as false as the rest of ours are.

Now shut it and go enjoy the sun shine.

  9. To the Nazi comment - it was used in eastern religions far before Hitler's crap... "The swastika (Sanskrit: स्वस्तिक) is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles, in either right-facing () form or its mirrored left-facing () form. Earliest archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization of Ancient India as well as Classical Antiquity. It remains widely used in Indian Religions, specifically in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism." - source Wikipedia.

To the cool eastern religion comment.. the draw of eastern religions is the more open minded way of believing - I just can't stand the believers of religion on the western side of the world(I know that's a broad brush.. but from what I have been exposed to here I can't help it..). Even in the Phillipines which is by majority Catholic - it is believed in an open minded way - something I could definitlely get behind.

  10. Just about every Thai guy in our village has some 'lucky' religious tattoo somewhere on his body. Alot of them done at the local wat. I wonder if the proposed law banning religious images on the body is intended for both farang and Thais?

I'd imagine you're referring to bamboo tattoos. I can't imagine they're banning these as they're generally blessed by monks. Alot of monks have them aswell.

I'm sure they're banning the religious tattoos people get via gun in a parlour...

As for this being purely against farangs... I don't think Thais generally get tattoos like this of religious figures in the first place...

Are they banning all religious depictions - Jesus and the lot. If so, it's not a matter of farangs coming in and defacing THEIR religion (buddhism) - just the act in general.

PS. I know that Buddhim is not THEIR religion - so don't jump on me for it. But, you know what I mean.

  11. The FIRST cause of death is ageing ...

When will there be a campaign against AGEING ?

    B)

Um,, you just don't get it, do you?

The whole reason for these campaigns is to allow you the ability to get old, to die of natural causes! If you do things that threaten your bodies ability to live until you are old, then other people who want to live until they are old will probably tell you that what you are doing will shorten your life.

There are many things that will possibly end up with a shortened life expectancy, and if we know about them we can make an informed decision about whether to do them or not. This includes such things as; smoking, drink driving, excessive drinking, unsafe sex, dangerous driving, and others like planking.

These are warnings. Please if you choose not to follow them, at lease when you do die, please, please don't take an innocent and unwilling person with you.

Hahaha Um, YOU just don't get it, do you?

    He was.... JOKING!!

  12. I had a good burger at Sizzler yesterday.

The sizzler burger is half-decent, but at 340baht I expect more than that.

Also Steveo's is fcking terrible these days. They went from making a good burger to a mediocre and now inedible one. Not even their good milk shakes can get me there anymore. I guess after the little incident with the thai woman stealing about 100k over a few months from there they have decided to save money on proper ingredients or something.

Green man's texas mega burger is also bad these days and The Club in nai harn, which made a good burger, shut down a while ago so where to get a proper burger in the in the chalong/kata/rawai area these days?!

    WHAT?!?!?

What happened to Steve'os?? I'm the previous owner that sold it to him.

How in the world did this little thai girl steal so much money without him knowing?

Does anybody know a way to get in contact with Steve'o? Or if he is even the owner anymore.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated!!

    Sincerely,

    James

  13. The man was a father of a 3-week old baby? The man goes out and allegedly behaves in an argumentative way but leaves the scene after some peacemaking? He later returns (after given this some thought) only to attack people from behind?

Now, I don't know much about this story other than what is reported in media, and I don't want to point out the obvious, but if my conclusions above are correct the man should never had become a father in the first place. One can only imagine what his wife goes through right now.

Maybe Darwin wasn't so correct after all? How else did this guy's genes survive? And now he's passed them on? Mindboggling...

To be perfectly honest you don't appear to know much at all!

I drink, therefore I cannot be permitted to spawn?

Not a hint of condolence but some vague allusion to sorrow for the wife? Or is it?

Just what Thailand needs, ANOTHER (easily) boggled mind!

Haha what? He didn't make ONE reference to the man drinking... He simply stated that he carried himself in a ludicrous manner.. and mentioned how Darwin, (you know that guy with the whole evolution theory?!) was perhaps wrong, because people like this seem to continue to reproduce.... thus stupidity is not being bred OUT of the population, which means we are not actually..... EVOLVING!!

Just what Thailand needs, ANOTHER (easily) confused, mislead, egotistical farang!!!

  14. Hello Thailand lovers.... and those that love to hate it....

Not sure where to ask this question. My wife and son are Thai and are currently living in Thailand. She has just taken our son to apply for his first passport, but of course I am supposed to be in attendance during this application. But, unfortunately I am in Canada, and I hope to be bringing them back with me the next time I go across. So, I am wondering if there is any possible way for me to sign something here, or fill out some sort of paper work downloaded from the internet - that would be giving my consent?

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You!!

  15. whether this is a good idea or bad idea. is this really the time to make the rules on visas any more strict. as a business owner over the past couple years,

this is the year thats going to force me to sell. considering what is happening in thailand, on top of what is happening in the rest of the world, tourism is dead, and its only going to get worse.. an article in the paper said "global financial crisis will indirectly effect thailands tourism" hahahaha do ya think?!?

one place ive noticed that hasnt thinned out throughout all of this is the muay thai gyms, these r 18-25 year old kids who arent that concerned about their savings and are not deterred by some government protests, and for the most part they stay here for 2-3 months relying on those visa runs.

Apply for a visa back home? i applied for a double entry tourist visa which totalled a stay of 4 months, it took 3 weeks after booking drs appointments, getting blood work, sending away for a criminal record check, taking it to the embassy, and waiting for it to clear for another week(i realize canada is more diffucult then other countries) but either way, most ppl dont want to bother going through all that trouble.. this is an insane plan, and its just another example of thailand walking around with its eyes closed and hoping for the best.

  16. I've checked back on this post a couple times and gone out to try these restaurants for myself, not a bad list I must say.. Except for one thing, I am amazed you have all missed Big Mike's just off of chalong circle on the way to Kata. burgers are excellent, by far the closest you will get to home. The chili dog and onion rings are reason enough to make the trip to chalong no matter where u stay in phuket. I eat there atleast 3 times a week(which could explain the 3 kilos ive put on since discovering this hidden gem) i would definitly go check the place out. the owner is a nice young canadian kid who just loved thailand so much he didnt want to go home, hes doin a great job running it.. Tell him Rob sent you, maybe ull get a discount. :o

And grab a milkshake to go.
