  1. thanks wolf (hey!!! is that really u in the photo!! u look great!)  and  thanks "lopburi, but what u told me , puzzles me. i have heard of Farangs marrying thai ladies quite simply in ONE day. they just go to marriage registry office, fill in a simple form , both sign, and bingo, they are married. any other views?? i'm probably wrong (as usual) but this is what i was told by a guy that married his thai girlfriend. all she took was her "Thai ID.. card and he, his passport!!!whole process apparantly took about half an hour.
  2. my american farang friend want's to marry his Thai girlfriend and take her back to the USA. if he marries her here in Thailand, will it be easier for him to get her a visa to travel back with him to USA?? he want's to marry her "legally" (on paper) . where can he do this? (at the moment he is in Chiang -Mai.) what documentation do they need? he has never been married before. does he need to show any proof? if so how? can they just simply go to a marriage registry office or whatever and marry? if he is able to take her back to the USA, he intends to re-marry in USA as well. any help please!?

  4. dear friends, just thought i'd let you know; i have had to use a lawyer here in Thailand a few times. so have many of my friends and aquaintences. also i have read of Farangs being charged ridiculous fees for minor work such as translation of docs. etc., etc., i had the good fortune to come across a "good" lawyer, who helped me tremendously when i had some unforseen problems arise!! This good Thai lady is based in Chiang-mai, but will travel to you if neccessary. Foe e.g. i was once charged 5000 baht to just get a document "bank-related" translated and signed by an attoeney , stamped etc., the problem reared it's unwanted head yet again, and luckily by this time i had met this good lady. her "price" for SAME work; 1,500 baht!! since then many people i know have seen her regarding marriages, visa problems and on and on! she seems to have all the right contacts in all the right places. she is quick, reliable, discreet, and CHEAP!!! obviously for ethical reasons, i cannot "advertise" her name etc., but if any of you need any legal help, please feel free to contact me, and i'll pass on contact details. sorry, no offence meant to our good Thai people, but sometimes it get's a bit "heavy" being ripped off, and not being able to do anything about it!! cheers, "seesaw"
