  1. Went for my renewal on Wednesday.  Officer wanted copy of every single page of Passport and all signed in blue ink.

She would not accept my letter from bank on the 800,000, as she said it was dated the day before and I could have withdrawn the money.  Also wanted a copy of every page of my bank savings account book and the last page had to have current day's date. How could you ever go to immigration early in a.m., as banks do not open until 9 or 9:30? I think the only way you could do this is to find an ATM machine where you could make a deposit and then update your book.

90 day very easy now as only need passport and TM47 - took all of 3 minutes.  I usually mail mine in but had to go to immigration for my TM7...

  2. Just bought one - 2,900 Baht just west of Tesco, (the one near JJ Market) on ring road. Several shops sell mowers but first 3 or 4 shops did not have reel/push mowers.   However, a  few shops further down has them.

  3. Had great results with Grab Taxi.  You can even follow the taxi's progression to your pick up point on your mobile phone.  They arrived only 10 minutes after I called them. Only charged 50 Baht as I was first time user.  Don't know if that deal is still on...  Nice young driver and new car.  Will use again.

  4. Going west on Huay Kaew Road cross over Canal Road and on on your right is a 7/11. Make a U-turn and come back to the 7/11 and then make a left on the Soi that boarders the 7/11. There is a "Nana" Bakery on this Soi on the left about a kilometer or so up the Soi. It is very small and hard to find. Good Luck

  5. For those concerned about the 1200 baht simply put 100 baht a month in special place and wow in 12 months you have the price of admission. Give up a pack or 2 of cigarettes or a couple of drinks at the local bar a month and save even more towards the price of admission.....

Complaining that Dave is going to make money is ridiculous - of course he is going to make money he runs a business. How else can he afford to stay business?!?!

Keep up the good work Dave. I have enjoyed all my 4th of July's at the River Market.

  6. Lived in Koolpuntville 9 for 2 years - on left just before Kad Farang. Very quiet secure mooban with large swimming pool & club house, great place for those that like to jog or walk (no traffic) Also 9 hole golf course inside of mooban. Course might be closed now as expanding to 18 holes. Nice restaurant in golf course club house area.

  7. Form I was referring to:

The Social Security Administration periodically sends Form SSA-7162 to a beneficiary living outside the United States to figure out if the beneficiary is still eligible to receive benefits. When you receive this form, you should answer the questionnaire and return it to the office that sent it as soon as possible. The form will include instructions in English and Spanish and provide the address where you need to return the form. Generally, a self-addressed envelope is enclosed, too. All you need to do is affix postage and mail it. If you do not return this form in a timely manner, your payments will stop.

  8. Ate at Ragu this week and was not impressed. Had the Italian Sausage and it was very dry, almost like it had been cooked up a day ahead of time and then reheated. Garlic bread was very good. I will give them a 2nd chance and go back and try one of the Ragu dishes. As for the bar, I asked for a mixed drink and was told the bartender had already gone home!! This was at 20:30??
