  1. I made a short video on my Samsung camera and saved it as a .gif in iphoto. I sent it as an email attachment. The attachment arrived as a .wma file and it won't open (all this done on Apple) All I get is a black screen in Preview and I can't open it ....any ideas?

  2. Me too, if you are not happy here. Why the hel_l are you still here?

Me? I love it and I am not going anywhere.

There are some people who don't have many choices. They hate to be here but can't go anywhere else

    because of several reasons.

  3. Google bywifi.

This is a piece of freeware which allows for easy downloading of streaming video (youtube, metacafe,...).

It also comes with a media transcoder, so you can convert the FLV video's straight to 3GP (mobile phones) or MP4 (ipod, iphone,...)

As an added bonus, it automatically multi-threads the streaming of the video, so they download much faster!

    All in one package!

I will give it a try. Thanks for the quick response. :)

  4. korea

that would be close to the bottom of my list.....I would only go there in leg irons and cuffs.......why do you recommend it?

There are more than 1 million non Korean peope living in Korea now. Obviously, not everyone is like you.

Here are some of the qualifications that Korea can offers:

    1) No one ask you to be a walking ATM

    2) You don't hear any sick buffalo story

    3) fast internet and WiBro (wireless broadband internet)

    4) Efficient national health plan

    5) Full democracy

    7) Excellent infrastructures

    8) Safety

  5. My sister is studying oversea. Her passport has expired and have not renewed ,she has been studying there for so many years and did not notice that her passport has expired. She received some sort of student pass which says "To enter and remain as a student studying in the above stated constitution" the

,what i call, student pass will expire in 2012.

The question is ..... should ,or rather ,must, she go and renewed her passport. ..... the problem is the passport has expired .... would there be a problem with that?

She should go to the local Thai Embassy or Consulate and get a new passport. She needs to keep the old one as it has her student visa in it. As long as the visa is still valid and she has complied with the conditions (ie she hasn't overstayed or stopped being a student) then it will still be valid as long as she keeps the two passports together.

    The best answer.

  6. If a Korean national ( a child) is traveling to the U.K without his parents but accompanied by family friends, does anyone know what the procedure is. The child and his parents are living in Thailand, Korean nationals and the child will be travelling with a British National also residing in Thailand.

I read that South Koreans are exempt from Visa's but may require entry clearance. Can someone kindly explain what this means?

    Thanks!

If the child is not traveling with parent(s), he/she will probably need the Child Travel Consent Form from parent(s) or guardian.

I don't know what kind of entry clearance they requires but I have entered UK many times without visa and there was no complication. In fact, UK and Canada are only two countries that allow South Koreans stay up to max of 6 months without visa.

You can find more information on entry visa from this site:

  7. So I know Thais are allowed to enter Korea with a visa-on-arrival, but I read some former posts saying they're often given a hard time if they're alone- (locked up in a holding room with other thais, etc). I'm worried because my gf, who has the double deficit of having changed her sex (she was born male), will be meeting me in Incheon in a week for a two-week holiday. She was able to get through Singapore immigration a while ago, but not without an interrogation. In Korea, I'll be arriving 9 hours after she does- I assume they'll wait until my arrival to vouch for her before they send her back to BKK? She also isn't that good at written English, so I'm worried she'll screw up the forms- can you see them online beforehand somewhere so I can tell her what to write?

    thanks

Here is the link to the arrival paper work.

If she is young, sexy, attractive and traveling alone, immigration officer might take a closer look at her.

I would advise that she does not dress too flashy and stand in a line where there is a male immigration officer. Sometimes women officers are more thorough.

  8. My Thai wife was in Bangkok, at 5:00 pm yesterday. Now she is asleep in our bed in S. Korea. How did she do it? Thailand military airport! She amazed me!

I believe that your wife was booked on Korean Air or Asiana. They send temporary planes to Thai military airports to bring back their passengers. I read the article on Korean website.

Strangely, those passengers who were originally on Thai Airways or Thai Oriental to Seoul and Busan are still stuck in Thailand.

Many of them are honeymooners. Good thing they feed you and provide hotels. It's like forced extended honey moon.

  9. Yeah, next time when the Korean archery teams play with Chinese in China, they should have prepared ear plugs. Did you hear all the screams and noisy tambourine sounds made by Chinese spectators to distract the Korean archery players whenever they drew back the bow to focus on the target? I watched this with serveral non-Korean friends of mine and they even thought it was amazing (in a bad way).

It is probably not much difference from when an NBA (or any other B-Ball player) is at the foul line trying to make a free throw. The concentration and steadiness weeds the 'men' from the 'boys'.

Yep...maybe fine at the local darts match where the medal is a pint of bitter and a pack of Pork Scratchings.

But the Olympics? No, this is nothing but bad sportsmanship. The goal is the to be the best on the Planet...can the non Chinese then shout and blow trumpets when the Chinese are taking a shot? Can you imagine?? Foreign chop..BIG chop...suey!!

I fully agree with you, harleyclarkey.

Also, have you noticed how freaking young Chinese gymnasts look?

I know that Asian women can sometimes look a little younger than their age but this is ridiculous.

I do not believe that they are indeed over 16 which is minimum age requirement.

Apparently their passport age is all over 16 but from the country where they have twins who are 5 years apart I think it's fair that people would have doubt about this. To me they look 12 and 14 at best.

I hope no one thinks I'm being rude or anti china, but I've noticed this since Athens

and the girls this year, they look like they still have their baby teeth.

I understand how gymnasts are usually short with weird bodies, but you can tell

a baby from a teenager and I believe at least 4 of the girls are not 16, I can't be 100% sure but it is questionable how their ages suddenly changed months before the olympics. If this is true I feel bad for the other countries that had to wait to be 16 to compete, it's really unfair not only to the other athletes but also to the chinese athletes and it's cheating. Did you see the little girl that fell off the uneven bars? she looks about 12.

I feel for your dilemma. When Hackett and Park Taehwan were in the same game, whom did you root for? Maybe, you put two flags on your face to split your loyalties? hahaha. I am also rooting for U.S.A.>Canada>Austrailia>Japan. Too bad that Canada is not doing well so far. What's with Canada? Canada was very good at winter Olympic last time.
