  1. Not addressing this particular case specifically, rather tthe general nature of such attacks.. Thailand - a paradox. Yes, mai bpen rai - a jai yen ideal an easy-going nature. . . But this could so easily lead to a false sense of security. Seems to me, LOS is only a safe place until you cause someone to lose face. At this point anything can happen. Sheer Craziness may very well ensue. Or me I think its better to try and comport yourself, at all times, like you're in Mexico, no?. Remember you are in a dangerous country. RIP to deceased who could not possibly have done anything remotely deserving such a demonic attack.

  2. Highway 11 I think - windy stretch for sure. Direction Chiang Mai - Udon Thani.

    Dusk.

Pass a sign that says '"accident" ahead'.

Slow down some. Hmmm... cannot see any signs of an accident here....

Hey but whats this? Hit the brakes! A wooden bridge? Crossing over a totally destroyed boulder like stretch of road surface. Ok.

But wait! The bridge itself is broken - cracked in two straight down the middle!

Wheres the accident? Well, that would be you buddy! If Cross the bridge to the wrong side of the road. Fortunately everyone drives at a sensible speed when traveressing these 'windy as hell' roads so...

  3. Heres the problem.

My macbook will only run off the mains adapter and won't charge the battery (I'm guessing from the forums that its a logic board component problem).

I can accept the fact that, for now at least, I've essentially got a desktop computer.

However with a fully decharged battery, or no battery installed, the SMC goes crazy: i.e fans on full bore all the time, maximum screen brightness, no CD drive function... etc. With a charged battery the SMC can be reset and normality resumed. I did do this and then, inadvertently, let the new battery run out by as well :(

As a short term solution I just want to charge up my two batteries and repair or replace (hope not) my macbook in a couple of weeks.

I was thinking I'd go to MBK or Pantip and make the request there - but if there's a less tiresome solution then so much the better:)

Maybe some kind Macbook user has a shop, restaurant somewhere I could drop into..? Or lives nearby. Maybe unlikely but nothing ventured... Its a 13" removable battery Macbook circa 2009.

I'm in On Nut - so anywhere MRT/BTS is viable.

    Any offers much appreciated.

    Thanks
