Maybe it has only moved? There is a small shop at the back entrance to the garage close to Swensen's (or at least there was a couple of weeks ago...).

There is an excellent meat place, "Best Beef", where you can eat as much as you like for 199 at Sukhumvit opposite Soi 77. It's worth the extra money. Good prices for beer too!

why not just google it
I've tried but no success. But next time I won't bother you ;-)
Thanks for your input Dave - didn't know about that one!
Happy New Year!

Does anyone know of other furniture store options in the area? We are particularly interested in high quality rattan furniture but have seen nothing of that around Surin.

I recently went from O dependent to getting my own work permit and I had to leave the country and apply for a B. As I understood my lawyer a tourist visa, but not an O, could be transferred into a B without leaving the country. I assume that this also applies for an O retirement but you never know... "Your" new company should invite you as an investor and possible employee. If you apply for a B based on employment directly you have to go through some other administrative steps first with the labor office. Make sure you have all the documentation needed. Take a look at the web page of the embassy you will be using (e.g. KL) to make sure you bring the right documentation - there are differences!

Kirimaya is nice - especially if you play golf.

Also recommending this one. Have avoided it because of tourist trap scare since I moved to Bangkok but a visit 2 weeks ago proved me wrong. Very nice and plenty of (slightly overpriced) food.
