but แตกใน is the term for cumming inside, not น้ำแตกใน

Thanks for the answers guys, but I would just like to tweak my topic abit regarding 'Trivial matter'. For example, I bought my friend a meal as a good gesture for thanking him for what he does to me. He thanked me for my meal. I reply him, 'You're welcome, don't mention it, its a trivial matter. ไม่เป็นไรครับ มันแค่เรื่อง(เล็กน้อย, กระจอก, ขี้ผง, ขี้ปะติ๋ว)... Is it ok?

i believe เล็กน้อย would be the choice of most here..

คิดเงิน is to calculate or be calculating (of monetary sense)

เค็ม is to be miserly..ขี้เค็ม is a miser but.....

ไม่เป็นไร ไม่ต้องจ่ายก็ได้ will sound more natural....

อุ่นใจ means comfortable, so it's not quite correct.

insecure is ไม่มั่นใจ

lack of self confidence is ไม่มั่นใจในตัวเอง

You can say that somebody lacks self confidence: เขาเป็นคนไม่มั่นใจในตัวเอง

paranoid is ระแวง

If you'd say that somebody is paranoid you'd say เขาเป็นคนขี้ระแวง

It's not "สิ้นซอย" but only ซอย

This meaning is not from alley or road despite it's spelled the same, but it's from the meaning of slicing or cutting something.

It's the motion back and fort when you slice something which is the metaphor of having sex with the similar motion.

ซอย is a common slang used to describe the action of "in and out" when you have sex. It's used to describe what men do. Women do not ซอย.

Being a native northern Thai speaker, I wouldn't really recommend anyone to study the Lanna script in order to learn "กำเมือง"

This script is very archaic and is used only in religious settings and hardly any native northerners can even read it anymore.

It is more or less only a spoken language and not a written one. You can write it using the standard Thai script but there are certain sounds which does not exist in standard Thai such as ญ which is pronounced similar to the Spanish ñ but unlike in Spanish, the northern ญ sound are usually found at the beginning of a sound/word.

Also, the slightly difference in tones is problematic to write using only the 4 standard Thai tone symbols.

Most northern Thais just write in standard Thai when they need to write something.

The best way to learn gam muang (or any language for that matter) is to try to speak it a lot and at any opportunity you can get.

am very keen to learn it too..i was there in the North and struggling to catch up..they could speak ภาษากลาง but often revert back unknowingly..

Nowdays i don't ahve much opportunities to listen nor much less speak it..!!

to improve speaking, the mouth has to start saying the words..may i suggest repeating after movies..?

because as she reads, she MIGHT NOT be getting the correct pronounciation..

listening and repeating it will be much better IMHO..

as mentioned earlier...the way of expressing often use diff words but carry similiar content..
