I just got my box changed after a call yesterday and have 3 new channels HD quality. Although one thing I was curious about was the guy said if we pay 8,000 baht one time for the box we wouldnt have to pay for our subscription every month so basically it sounded like a one time fee then every month free... although this seemed to good to be true. Im wondering is this legit or just a way for them to get more money?

Also are there only 3 channels available? If you want the extra channels i seen on their website it looks like 3 movie channels and a bunch of other HD channels. Im mostly interested in the HD for football and right now I just have one channel for HD sports.

Kind of a bit on this topic but my girlfriend plans to leave Chiang Rai next week (15th) anyone got info about the flooding... she usually will take a bus to mo chit then to pattaya but im worried there may not be buses going there with the flooding especially next week? Any ideas or alternatives?

if she travels NCA I think you will find some of the buses are equipped with GSM navigation and they are constantly monitoring

the situation at their head office so the drivers can make detours if necessary. all I know is I phoned their call centre last night and they said all their services are still running normally.

Recently I have noticed that ive been getting outages on my 3bb premier connection and I think my low SNR margin is to blame due to the poor wiring to my router and extreme latency up to 2000-3000ms on sites outside of Thailand, I have the cheap phone wiring that you can buy at any thai shop which connects outside to the box and runs upstairs to my router, they originally twisted this wire at the contacts outside at the box but noticed rust already at the contacts. You can see my stats below but this is even an improvement from earlier where i had 0.9 SNR margin.

SNR Margin 3.3 6.4 db

Line Attenuation 48.0 36.2 db

So my question is would upgrading my wiring outside to a different type help? I heard about CAT5 cable but can this be used to connect outside at the box? Also if anyone knows of any contractors in pattaya that does phone wiring (not the cheap wiring) and can connect with insulation at the contact please let me know. I also have a landline but only keep it for the ADSL although I dont think we even need that anymore since 3BB came and installed a new box a few months ago.

Are any of the #'s mentioned in this thread around east side of pattaya or north pattaya? The one I seen with the website (irish) is located a bit far and dont think they want to go all the way here just to service my air.

Im also on premier maxnet but its also called 3BB now in Pattaya but havent had any outages.. it may be something locally that is causing your problem maybe a phone line or the modem/router? which package are you on?

Also if your computer savy you can check the details of your connection in the router normally 192.168.1.1 into your browser then username admin password TTT (later models may have changed the password).

under there you can check the decibel levels(DB) to see if there is a lot of interference.. I once had too much and had some engineers come out.. they had to downgrade my speed so I would stop losing my connection because the signal was poor. Look for SNR Margin and Line Attenuation under your router page.

Whats the going rates for someone just to come clean your A/C and check the compressant levels? Just want to know as I look someone to come clean my A/C.

Also my air is leaking water so maybe a small repair.

According to several posts on TV, the Bangkok Post has reported that the banks inside shopping malls and department stores will be open today (Friday), but not regular stand alone banks.

Banks nationwide can be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Bank of Thailand (BOT) assistant governor Sorasit Soontornkes said on Thursday.

Mr Sorasit said the central bank had received many complaints from the public after it announced that all commercial banks and financial institutions will remain close this weekend due to the escalating political unrest in Bangkok and other provinces.

Debt payments had become a problem following the announcement, he said.

"To ease people's financial difficulties, all banks, especially the ones in department stores, can open from Friday to Sunday without asking for the BOT's permission," the assistant governor said.

It says they "can" open - but will they????

Yes I read this yesterday, but i read on another website which was released after that statement that they reverted that and is now closed, according to their websites and even I call the call center they both give messages they will be closed including super markets.

I was expecting money to come to my thai bank via a bank transfer on wednesday and obviously it didnt because of the banks closing and now there is absolutely no way to get money now? So I guess someone has to go outside of the country just to get money to eat? or if an emergency came up how would one be able to get money? No banks or no western union .

From what it looks like the banks will be closed today? I just checked siam commercial bank and bangkok banks website and both said they will be closed today.. I also rang BKK bank and they said they would be closed the 20th and 21st. Im guessing they may open again on saturday in select locations.

On the same subject anyone know if moneygram or western union is open in pattaya at carrefour? If not any word on tomorrow about banks?

I never even knew they had programs or services to lower ping, i seen smoothping but it looks to just be for some of the mmorpgs do they have a similar service that you can use for other games, like online FPS games?

Im really looking for a different option for my internet ive had 3BB Premier 3mb for a year ,about 6 months ago they dropped me down to 1MB because they said im too far away or something, so im paying 1500 baht for 1MB download and most the times its only around .80.

Can i ask whats the difference in the 3bb Premier packages and the 3bb Pro packages? if you are getting 10mb download thats really good because you are getting 10mb download for the same price im paying to get 1MB? By the way im just north of soi siam right near pattaya nua.

edit: actually im paying a small amount less (1090 per month) but even 400 more a month its worth 5-9 MB more download.

The Red Plates belong to the dealer (dealer plates) so if he knew you were taking the bike to Chonburi, how does he know he will ever get his red plate back.

Well yes if we paid the bike in full we would have no obligation to send them back but we are paying every month on the bike, so we would be making payments monthly that is just another reason they should be more trusting if that is the case, because even so we will only be using the red plates 3 months after the white plates come we will still be making monthly payments.

My understanding of it was that Red plates were only issued to motorcycles that were bought under a financial contract (loan for the bike), whereas motorcycles that were purchased wholly for cash did not receive the red plates.

Without the red plates, you MUST MAKE SURE, that you carry all the purchase documents with the bike at all times and you CANNOT ride after dark (6pm) and prior to sunrise....ie: cannot be ridden during the hours of darkness.

Having bought a motorcycle and paying for it in whole, I was without plates for 2 weeks, but I hear about 4 is the norm. I constantly hounded the dealer where I bought the bike and I think he got sick of speaking to me and went down and haggled the plates. I believe mine was quicker because I ordered and PAID FOR specific plates.....that being my lucky proverbs & numbers

Thanks for the reply, we dont use the motorbike much just to go to the store sometimes that is not far so i guess as long as we have the documents well be okay, but even with the documents the police cannot charge a fine?

Also she did not pay full in cash, we put down a cash payment and are paying every month.

My girlfriend just bought a new motorbike in essan and she told me that she has to wait 3 months for the white plates which is understandable but what i dont understand is that she told me she cannot get red plates because she did not put enough money down... so what is the point of having it with no plates? we would probably get stopped everywhere.

So can anyone fill me in on the options to get a red plate for the motorbike until the white plates are ready? Because what she told me does not make sense, i would think there is a fee for the red plates correct?

How is banglamung cable internet as far as browsing websites? Right now i have 3bb Premier package which is advertised at 3mb down 1mb up but 2 weeks now Im only 1mb down they said I was too far away now.. I guess my house moved farther away because I had 2mb down for 8 months.

So im looking for another service in the Pattaya/banglamung area, what kind of prices do they have and they do not have a website?

Actually I think you can kill one tier down ie: tier 2 can kill tier 1 but tier 3 cannot kill tier 1. I voted open but if we go core I wont be too upset.... I dont think. I dont like being killed by someone higher level, I think theres no honour in that and wonder what freaking 12 year old punk ass is attacking me but the truth is.... Ive gotten used to it and think about playing without the added threat and wonder how fast the game will get boring with too many safe areas.

I'm afraid I still have to put in a vote for the core server. I respectfully disagree that this game will be similar to wow. Wow was built form the ground up as a PvE game, with PvP a secondary priority. WAR is by far a RvR oriented game, on both types of servers, RvR is the end game content, period.

I am a big fan of, if I don't feel like pvp'ing, and I want to do some pve, or farm something for a profession, or farming for better equipment, i dont want to pvp.

I disagree that the wow pvp servers only gank at the lower level zones, I played on a wow pvp server for two years before switching to PvE, and I got incredbily tired of the ganking outside of Kara, SSC, TK, etc etc... it got very old very fast.

I still think that the core server in WAR will have something for everyone, the pve will be pain-free and you wont have to pvp if you don't want to.. the scenarios, and world RvR, which is the focus of the game, is there and very much more accessable than wow PvE servers where you could not fight anywhere out in the open world if it didn't have pvp objectives.

I just worry that, at least myself, will grow tired of the ganking like in wow, and will just move or re-roll on a core server in the end. So basically there is an escape for those that don't want all rvr all the time in core, and no escape for those people in open, in my opinion.

All this said, I will have to admit we have not played on an open ruleset server yet, so I could be blowing things out of proportion, but I have a hunch it will still have the ganking and corpse camping that plagued wow pvp.

It wont be as bad as wow with the ganking since if someone from tier2 goes to tier 1 they will turn into a chicken. SO you wont see rank 25's ganking rank 5's. Also im interested in the pvp server since it just came out. Keeps things more interesting.

I just seen this thread looking for the best way to purchase the game so i can get into headstart. I played daoc for 6 years and just stopped playing that when open beta came out. I may join the guild if you guys play on us servers? Ive always played us server with no lag. Anyway what is the best way to purchase the game online so i can get into headstart? I seen offgamers but they sell the head start and regular game seperate. My understanding was you preorder and you get the headstart with it. But offgamers are selling the open beta, headstart and bonus items for 700b.. i dont want to pay 700b to play 2 days early.
