  1. your third paragraph is totally inaccurate. the act of union was between england and wales only. scotland and northern ireland are countries within the uk.

the original post got it spot on.

Oh dear here we go again. England = Britain = UK. England = England.

Sad that English people are the only nationality in the world who do not know their own country's name or borders.

Bulls**t.....I'm British and know it. I was born in England of a half English, half Scottish father and a half English, half Irish mother.

My passport is issued by "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" commonly known as "The UK" and inside it says Nationality: British Citizen.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain consists of a Union between England, Scotland and Wales plus some outlying islands making up the geographical area "British Isles", "Britain" or "Great Britain".

You are always British first, English, Scottish or Welsh etc. second.....

But why we don't have a national British football team beats me and sadly here in Thailand most Thais only seem to know names of countries football teams hence the use of "I'm English" or "I'm Scottish" and never "I'm British". And if I'm getting my history timeline correct "The English" aka Angrit came to Thailand before the forming of the United Kingdom.

  2. "Food Corner" restaurant in Suntitam. Hard to find (when you get the the 5 way intersection from the Wat Suntitam 3 way intersection take a right, it is the 2nd road down, take a left then on your left)

BEST THAI FOOD IN CHIANG MAI, THE BEST KEPT SECRET HERE!

Steer clear of Khun Banjob at Loi Khro and ICO . Even expats club dont recommend ICO anymore.

Remember people get commissions for recommending in Thailand (thai and farang)

Lastly, to get you out of the mess your other lawyer might have got you into, I would personally highly recommend: Ajarn Akarawath Intanant. He specialises in both local and international law, having graduated with Masters or above from both local and foreign universities, (including, Harvard, Howard and the American University.) His web site is www.lawyerchiangmai.com .

  4. I used P&P for years but they stuffed up my inyernational bookings twice in succession so they got the flick. Plus the fact they will not accept Thai issued Amex cards.

I have been using SeaTours on Changklan for the last ten years, and have found them extremely professional, to say nothing of the friendly staff. They will go out of their way to secure the best deal for you. Got my vote every time.

havent tried seatours but bts travel 44/3 sridonchai rd is faultless. small but fast and efficient.. can recommend

  5. Please watch out for MTS Mau travel. Numerous people in Chaingmai have had all of their money stolen from them (even as recently as August 2008) . I used them from 2000-2003 until they shafted us a lot of money. Hundreds of people have similar stories. If they start sharing, this forum will become a big bashing venue. Not sure whey the police haven't shut them down.

P&P travel. Absolutely wonderful I've used them continuously from 2003-2008. They are cheap, fast, friendly, efficient. They have often gone out of their way to help me get the cheapest price. A few times they called me after giving me a ticket and said that the airline reduced the cost of my ticket. I went down and picked up my reimbursement-discount.

Note my earlier comment. I wouldn't touch MAU Travel with a proverbial barge pole. Once bitten thrice shy.

Try Boutique Travel service at 44/3 Sridonchai Rd. Verypersonalised and pleasant service and work very hard to get exactly what you want. They have a great deal of experience in getting you the best deal. I have service very much better than average.

  6. if you demand ...... they will ignore you

    Wear black clothes.

noone appreciates childish comments. if you have nothing to say go to another thread

the thais clean their own clothes well but laundries are a business and the usual thai business ethic will always apply. high price no customer care and if u r farang.............
